2023.05.28 08:43 PianistRight WHAT IF: Imagine Dragons went on the Origins Tour
So, here’s what I came up with for if Imagine Dragons toured Origins.
DISCLAIMER: This is a work of fiction
Part 1: The Beginning of the Tour
On December 21, 2018, Imagine Dragons announced the first US Leg for the Origins Tour, originally set from March 6 to April 17, 2019, with shows in Atlanta, Jacksonville, Tampa, Sunrise, Columbia, Raleigh, New York, Chicago, St. Louis, Milwaukee, Boise, Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Salt Lake City. 2 weeks later, they announced shows for Canada, lasting from April 28 to May 26, 2019, with shows in Quebec, Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Victoria, Ontario, Winnipeg, Moncton, Saskatoon, Calgary, Vancouver, and Edmonton.
On January 27, 2019, the band announced Europe tour dates, lasting from June 6 to July 27, 2019, with shows in Riga, Vienna, Prague, Rome, Odense, Berlin, Madrid, Stockholm, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Kyiv, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Frankfurt, Werchter, and Gdynia.
On March 6, 2019, the Origins Tour began in Atlanta, GA. Opening Acts included Grouplove, Lil Wayne, and Elisa. In Canada, Yungblud replaced Grouplove for opening act, after Grouplove completed touring with Imagine Dragons on the US leg.
On April 20, 2019, tour dates were announced for South America and Central America, lasting from August 31 to November 6, 2019. With shows in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Curitiba, Santiago, Buenos Aires, Bogota, Quito, Lima, Caracas, Barranquilla, Cartagena, Mexico City, Monterrey, and Guadalajara.
Part 2: Europe, Latin America, and addition of more dates
On June 6, 2019, Imagine Dragons brought the Origins Tour to Europe, beginning in Riga, Latvia. Opening Acts included Grace Vanderwaal (again), and AJR.
Just like in years past, they omitted the acoustic set for festivals.
On August 31, 2019, the Latin American tour began in Rio de Janeiro. Opening acts included K.Flay, Lil Wayne, and AJR
On December 6, 2019, one month after the Latin America Leg ended, Imagine Dragons announced 2020 tour dates for North America, lasting from January 28 to March 20, 2020, with shows in Boca Raton, Orlando, Tallahassee, Montgomery, Nashville, Austin, Dallas, New Orleans, Dallas, Albuquerque, Philadelphia, Detroit, Minneapolis, Denver, Las Vegas, Kansas City, and Boston.
On December 14, they announced dates for Asia, Oceania, and South Africa, lasting from April 5 to June 26, 2020.
Part 3: Early end + Covid-19
On January 28, 2020, Imagine Dragons began the new US leg of the tour in Boca Raton, FL.
With a new coronavirus being unleashed in Wuhan, China, Imagine Dragons announced that they will put the shows in the neighboring countries, including Hong Kong, on hold while the countries deal with this new outbreak.
Nonetheless, the continued touring the US. On March 11, 2020, Covid-19 was declared a pandemic by the WHO. Luckily the band performed at Las Vegas, their hometown, when the declaration was made. But 2 days later, lockdown orders were put in place. The Kansas City show was not scheduled until March 18, so they did not leave yet. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the tour dates were postponed on March 15, 2020, and the tour was ultimately cancelled on May 2, 2020, bringing an early end to the tour. After the cancellation of the remainder of the Origins Tour, refunds were made available to all fans who ordered tickets before the cancellation.

2023.05.28 07:30 Rector117_ Could any of this be improved?
So, I am creating a borderline fantasy world for my current WIP. The setting is inspired by medieval Japan as are most of the names, though some will be European as well. There are gods in this world, and though sightings are rare, humans can interact with them, and some gods even have children with humans.
Gods: Fire: His children are capable of surviving extreme temperatures, and are mostly bandits, even forming small villages from the loot that they steal. Some can even create weapons made of fire.
Water: She does interact much, but she is the patron goddess of a kingdom on the oceanside. Her people tend to keep to themselves. Though there are claims that she does not have any children with humans, there have been sightings of mer-people by the oceans.
Earth: The kingdom is located at the base of a mountain, and the unique characteristic is that the old rulers have built an entirely new city into the mountain, and a secret path is used to evacuate the people into the new city in case of an attack. Even though he is the patron god of a kingdom, he does not interact with them as much. The rulers praise him for their kingdom's naturally fertile soil, thereby getting people to worship him, and by extension, the rulers as well. The rulers say that the god demands a "sacrifice" of young virgins, but instead throw the girls into their dungeons for their own purposes.
Wind: He does not have a dedicated following, but his children are extremely capable swordsmen who go on to become generals in armies.
Lightning: The goddess does not interact with the people, choosing to remain above the clouds. She has a cult that helps desperate people by offering food, protection, and shelter. They take in orphans, and train the girls as handmaidens for the goddess and promote her goodwill, and they train the boys to be guardians of the girls on their goodwill missions. But the cult also has a dark side where they win political favour by selling off the girls to nobles and monarchs.
Fauna:
The world has mostly normal animals and birds, but they also have dragons, though they are very rare. Most dragons have been almost hunted to extinction, with only a few species remaining.
The Fire dragon, lives on mountaintops, and are a migratory species that move to colder regions after their mating period is over. They hibernate till the egg matures and hatches. Their scales are extremely sought-after for their durability and resistance to high temperatures, but their hibernation period is far too long to make dragon hunting a viable career.
The Earth dragons are blind, so they travel mostly by smell and sound. They rarely make their above ground, so not much is known about their reproduction methods as they happen deep underground. Their skin also secretes a very strong acid which allows them to basically "swim" through the ground.
Flora:
Normal flowers and trees. There is a large bamboo forest towards the south of the continent, known as the "Mist-ridden Forest" because of a thick mist that constantly hangs there. The Fire bandits use the place as a hideout because people fear going in there and getting lost forever. There is also a mountain at the centre of the forest that is known as the "Eternity Mountain" because it rises above the forest and through the clouds. No one who has ever set out to the top of the mountain has ever returned.
This is my first time creating a diverse environment for my WIP, so all advice and questions are welcome.

RUSSIAN OFFENSIVE CAMPAIGN ASSESSMENT, MAY 27, 2023 Wagner Group mercenaries appear to be withdrawing from Bakhmut city to reconstitute and regroup in the rear as Russian offensive operations decrease in and around the city. The Russian military command may be transferring Donetsk People’s Republic’s (DNR) forces to relieve Wagner Group forces in Bakhmut city. The Russian transfer of DNR elements to Bakhmut may decrease the tempo of Russian offensive operations on the Avdiivka-Donetsk City line. The Russian military command appears to be reinforcing Bakhmut’s flanks with regular formations, however. Former Russian officer and ardent nationalist Igor Girkin accused Wagner Group financier Yevgeny Prigozhin of planning a coup against the current Russian leadership. Ukrainian officials denied Western reporting that suggested that a Chinese diplomat expressed interest in a negotiated ceasefire in Ukraine amidst the likely renewal of Russia’s information campaign surrounding negotiations. Russian forces continued limited offensive operations northeast of Kupyansk and south of Kreminna. Russian forces continued to launch unsuccessful offensive operations on the Avdiivka-Donetsk City line. Ukrainian forces continued to strike rear logistics nodes in southern Zaporizhia oblast. The Ukrainian Main Military Intelligence Directorate (GUR) warned on May 26 that Russian forces are preparing to conduct large scale provocations to create radiological danger at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP). The Russian Ministry of Justice registered the civil society group “Council of Mothers of Wives” as a foreign agent on May 26, likely to curb resistance to ongoing and future Russian force generation efforts. Russian authorities are escalating efforts to portray Russia as a safe guardian of Ukrainian children.

2023.05.28 06:18 afflatusmisery Is a 4070ti worth the extra cost over a 3080/3080ti?
I currently have a 3060ti. It's kind of struggling in newer titles (1440p) so I'm thinking of upgrading to a 4070ti or 3080/3080ti. I can get the 4070ti at ~$800 or a used 3080 at <$500/3080ti at ~$600. I heard the 4070ti is comparable to the 3090ti. I also want to take temperature into account as I have an ITX case (q58). From what I gather the 4070ti runs pretty cool. Does this (+ DLSS 3, new purchase warranty, etc..) justify the extra cost in your opinion?

2023.05.28 04:35 Alf_4 Looking to upgrade soon (advice on getting serious)
Looking to get a 7x sapphire solar as I'm getting more serious about bio tracking and fitness
Going for the X mostly because I hate charging my watch And the sapphire because I'm rough on equipment
Watch history : Vivosmart 4 (ascent and stair climbing stopped working after a few hours of CPR)
Vivoactive 4 (done well but scratched and worn, only been through 30min of CPR but a lot more vibrating tools and bumps and temperature fluctuations) Still my current watch.
I'm looking forward to some of the Fenix features like the stamina training readiness and effectiveness.
What are some of the first things you'd recommend doingwith the Fenix as far as setup/settings establishing baselines or calibration (never calibrated a watch before just read about it here)
Anything else you always do with your new watch or wish you did from the beginning?

2023.05.28 04:25 duellingislands 5:05 EEST; The Sun is Rising Over Kyiv on the 459th Day of the Full-Scale Invasion. This week's entry in our series on Ukrainian Recipes is Ryazhanka, a traditional and still very popular baked cultured drink. + Discussion + Charities

Photo: New York Times. Today we will cover a drink that is not so internationally popular (yet!) but has potential for crossover stardom. It’s called Ryazhanka, and for many Ukrainians, it's a staple found in the refrigerator year-round. If you visit a Ukrainian store, you will likely find no shortage of brands that aim to dazzle you with their hearty yet refreshing drink. Ryazhanka is a baked cultured milk drink that is traditional in Ukraine and Belarus. Its taste is sweet and super creamy and not quite sour - the tanginess from the fermentation gives it just a little kick. It's also a very old drink. It is well recorded that during the era of Kyivan Rus, people made Ryazhanka in the Pich (the traditional Ukrainian oven). They would heat up milk and cream at high temperatures (but without bringing to a full boil!) until they acquired a nice caramelized color. While on some level I do believe that our old pal Domovyk must of course be involved in the process of crafting Ryazhanka, I have also read in some sciencey places that during the baking process, milk proteins interact with the sugars in milk resulting in the formation of a new substance - melanoidins. Maybe Domovyk’s powers include control over high molecular weight heterogeneous polymers. :) Anyway, just like some other cooked dairy products (like ultra-pasteurized milk or ghee), melanoidins seem happy to provide the unique color of Ryazhanka. And of course, they impart a quite pleasant taste! To seal the deal, a little sour cream was traditionally added to the Ryazhanka after baking and with time the milk would ferment, adding another interesting element to the drink. This stabilized drink of course allowed humans to preserve milk for a little longer before it went bad when civilization had not come up with refrigerators just yet; if you’ve been following this series, you’ll understand that Ukrainian cuisine is all about fermentation and preservation! And it's also worth mentioning that in a pinch, the rich and nutritious Ryazhanka could be a substitute for a meal, especially on a hot day, adding to its appeal. Note: I am positive that you can find Ukrainian Ryazhanka in stores that carry brands from Eastern Europe, although I want to mention that regretfully the orcs developed their own knockoff brands so be careful and look for the country of origin on the label! And as we do not want you to support the war machine or get poisoned (are you sure Novichok is only in tea?), we’ll tell you how to make it at home! _______________________________ How to Make Ryazhanka (With or Without Domovyk’s Help) To prepare Ryazhanka, you will need only two ingredients! Ingredients - Milk (full fat, as fresh as possible) - 3 Liters
- Plain whole milk Kefir - 4 Tbsp
- Note: It is traditional to use sour cream, but I worry that for the purposes of this recipe all international sour cream might not have the right cultures in it to be able to kick off the process, whereas Kefir probably does. Substitute same volume for sour cream or you could try full fat active culture Greek Yogurt.
Recipe - When fermenting, it’s really important that you make sure the equipment you use (pots including lids, spoons, etc.) are super clean.
- Pour the milk into a pan, and bring it to a near boil. Don’t let it actually boil because it could scald and ruin the taste - just get it to look like it’s threatening to boil. Leave it at this temperature for about 5 minutes. At the same time, it is important to really monitor the milk so it does not spill over the edge. Periodically stirring it helps.
- Heat oven to 150°C.
- Pour the milk into a vessel that can be used in the oven. Best is a nice ceramic pot.
- Place the pot with the milk in the oven and gently simmer for between 3 and 4 hours. Do not cover it with a lid.
- At this point a coffee-colored foam will appear on the surface if it has caramelized properly - it is now baked milk! Take it out of the oven and wait until it cools down to around 40°C. Very important to wait until cool because otherwise the heat will kill the helpful little fermentation guys in the next steps.
- You can remove the foam or leave it. [Ed. note: I leave it so I am not sure the difference exactly - if anyone knows, please tell us in the comments!]
- Pour a small amount of milk into the Kefir (or your substitute) and stir until smooth. Then pour this small amount of mixture back into the larger pot of baked milk.
- Cover the pot with a lid and then wrap it in a blanket, or towel, to retain heat. Leave in a warm place for at least 8 hours - it should become thick. You can keep it in this warm state for up to 24 hours, depending on the temperature of your warm place and desired thickness. I feel just a little bit dirty typing that.
- You can drink it right away after it has reached its desired thickness, but in summertime I recommend chilling it first! It can be poured into jars, and keeps for about a week in the refrigerator.
Tips - 1 liter of milk yields approximately 700 ml of Ryazhanka.
- There is an alternative mason jar version of the recipe where you pour it into the jars after Step 8. In this case, you must absolutely boil the jars to sterilize them. Then use a coffee filter and an elastic band to cover them while you wait for fermentation.
- You can use Ryazhanka for the same applications you would use yogurt for, but Ryazhanka is naturally much sweeter.
- Try adding Ryazhanka to smoothies to fortify them in a creamy way - or substitute for milk when making pancakes to lend a more velvety texture. Sometimes Ryazhanka is used when making fancy baked desserts!

2023.05.28 03:53 GhostOnThe Which states are the best to move to for real estate?
Perhaps an odd question as I’m not a realtor myself. But my SO is a realtor of 6 years and has brokers license. We live in Florida and I really want out. I don’t see a sustainable future for my own employment and career, and the bullshit legislation here is making me grow more depressed by the day.
It would be much harder for SO to uproot, partially because they have more friends and a larger support system than I do, but also largely due to all the licensing requirements that come alongside moving states as a realtor. SO wants us to buy a house in FL within the next year or two (we currently rent), and I’m drawing a line in the sand because I don’t want to tie myself here long-term. It’s causing a lot of arguments between us but it is what it is :(
Which states are very realtor-friendly? I’m beginning to research potential places to move to that would fit my own job and lifestyle needs, but I feel completely in the dark about state policies that affect realtors and individual states’ real estate laws, as well as what the housing markets look like in other states. Reading through real estate terminology makes my head spin, so I would rather ask folks with direct experience. Which states are great to live and work in as a realtor, and which should be avoided? Would also hear out suggestions for career paths for which real estate has transferable skills, that other states are great for. TIA for any thoughts and advice!

2023.05.28 03:43 Intel81994 Got Scammed By Life Coach for ~7K, Marketing as Therapist with Unaccredited PhD
Am I crazy here for thinking this is highly manipulative and what he's doing is messed up?
I'm not new to the high ticket coaching world.
I understand most of it is MLMy but there are some good coaches but I feel scammed by this guy (name is Chris Bolger - name of his business is Healus Neurocoaching under PureFocus Media LLC).
I got taken advantage of by this life coach selling what appears to be some quasi MLM (All of his clients are coaches who also coach other coaches and a friend of his whom I checked with claimed that he was in fact coaching this guy for his mindset because his methods did not work and he needed help...)
My context: I was a in a very rough mental place, I was the victim of a cyberhack that led to the theft of ~80K and messed me up beyond just the immense financial stress due to the computer intrusion. Fight or flight, PTSD symptoms, flashbacks, etc.
Now unemployed currently, lost both of my jobs in Feb (had to get 2 jobs after the hack) and job market is rough right now, having tough time, panic attacks due to the pressure, applying to grad school. Anyway that's beside the point -
I suffered a serious mental health episode during his program (not blaming him for that), and I sought professional emergency help and medication.
This guy sold me 1:1 coaching - 12 sessions for $6800 but I cancelled halfway through after 6 sessions because I became suspicious I had been scammed and clear terms of the contract were not delivered.
For example call recordings and some other resources were not given. Refund clause in his contract is void due to this as well. Contract says Slack access, many other things. He did do the 1 hour calls but that's it. And the quality was subpar.
I just don't think this was worth over $560 per call...
He was on vacation on some calls, I could not hear him. He talked about himself and other clients and talked down upon respected clinical therapies and said he has some method that works better but we never really got to it.. it was all generic stuff he kept hashing.
He was NOT selling therapy or saying he was a psychologist in his contract (his contract makes clear it's not therapy and only coaching)
BUT he did charge me the money before I signed the contract and that was not mentioned on the "sales call" -
He had me pay over messenger by just sending my card details and I also paid a deposit via the phone call (it was a sales call and he mentioned he needed to hire someone for sales calls instead of him doing it, ugh).
This has been extra shameful and hurtful given the hack now that I'm out several thousands on top of that hack....
My mental health is extremely bad some days and I'm having panic attacks. I let him know all of this via email and he ignored it all.
What’s important here is he didn’t deliver a lot of what was stated and used deceptive marketing to sell something egregiously priced.
The issue here is: I partially thought he was also a licensed therapist... he has a PhD listed prominently on his LinkedIn and he has logos of all the brands he has worked with (I now think he made them up - he lists JNJ, NYU Stern, Nestle...).
I dug deeper and found out that his PhD is from an unaccredited spiritual 5013c university so it's NOT licensed/accredited and he is NOT a psychologist or therapist but only a life coach...
but the PhD is titled to sound scientific (Psychoneurology) and I believe he's doing it to seem more legit than he is.
I have since found a proper therapist who has a legitimate PhD and charges much less, with proper regulation and is MUCH better. I just feel so ashamed I fell for this and got scammed and don't know what to do. Been having serious mental health struggles and I trusted this guy and now really feel scammed.
Even services like Talkspace are like $100 a session for actual legitimate psychologist and even psychiatrists...
He refunded me half when I cancelled (gave me $3300 back) but I still don't think that's fair - it still comes out ton over $560 per session...
I emailed him several times very politely to ask for an additional $1700-2000 back so that the 6 sessions we did he still gets paid out over $300 per session or $1800 total which IMO is MORE than fair, no?
Entire thing is icky and gross to take advantage of someone struggling with mental health.
Am I being crazy here?
He ignored my emails and proceeded to instead ridicule me on his social media - didn't mention my name but made it very clear it was about me - he posted some. false things about me, told me to "man up", gaslit me into thinking it should be normal to pay high ticket for this sort of experience.
I've COACHED and consulted over 100+ high ticket business owners B2B... guarantees are commonplace now in the market - if a customer truly feels scammed you should just refund. I did this as legitimate consultancies not MLM business coaching programs.
Looking back it's clear he preys on people suffering mentally and who don't have the means to pay $6800
He told me several stories bragging almost about how he got someone scraping by to open a credit card to do his program.
When I did the chargeback, he also shared my confidential mental health struggles with Amex - a creditor - due to the dispute which I find to be insane, if a regulated therapist did that they would lose their license.
I believe this sort of service he is selling and his behavior could cause harm to vulnerable individuals.
MY OPTIONS
Not sure what to do outside of reviewing him online but don't want to get sued for libel as these fake gurus tend to do that stuff.
Write to BBB? and FTC? (did both)
Write to the State AG (he is New Jersey)?
Write to Consumer Affairs of his state and Psych board tipping them off that he might be attempting to practice regulated therapy?
His contract has an arbitration clause but I am not going to travel from FL to NJ over $3300 nor is that worth suing over... also I don't think that's fair.
I believe he is doing coaching so he can do it unregulated unlike therapy (since his PhD is fake/unaccredited and he legally cannot call himself a therapist or psychologist but is basically doing that and charging far more than any would).
I don't believe that coaches can attempt to treat PTSD and emotional distress symptoms, but sure, nothing wrong with life coaching, charge whatever you want that the market is willing to pay for you, but don't do predatory marketing and then not deliver what's in the contract.
It's fine if some executive coach with an actual client roster of CEOs charges 20k for mindset coaching, but for context I found this guy used to be a fitness trainer just a year back.
Never went to a real college. It's just a different league than the exec coach example. My therapist I have now went to Yale (not trying to be snobby) and has a PsyD. And still charges less and is super gifted.
His only testimonials are all other coaches that coach other coaches to coach coaches, and I also believe the logos he lists are fake... found a few other of his clients and uncovered that some feel the same way and regret it. Taken advantage of and brainwashed.
Only after digging did I realize it was a fake unaccredited school. The entire thing is just so disgusting, feel taken advantage of, gaslit, gross.
Basically this high ticket coaching craze took off on socials for people to scam others where people charge 10-15k for "coaching" despite being 20 years old - different when qualified people do it - but he bought into the cult a bit too hard.

First off, proof and confirmation This card works spectacularly well. Performance for this specific model in rasterization is
generally between the 3080 Ti and 3090 Ti. If you don't play games with ray tracing, as I don't, this card is top tier with 16GB of VRAM that should help it age very well.
RT performance, as is the case with all AMD cards, is all over the place with benchmarks putting it anywhere around
a 3070 in titles like Cyberpunk up to beating the 3090 Ti in ray tracing on Far Cry 6. If you want to play games with ray tracing, check your specific game in benchmarks from a reputable site.
I've repasted the GPU with Gelid GC Extreme for better temps, and repadded with Thermalright Extreme Odyssey 12.8 W/mK thermal pads to improve the temperatures from out of the box pretty significantly. During 3DMark, it hits a peak core temperature around 73-75C, a memory junction temperature of around 61-64C, and a hotspot temp of 95-97C using the built-in 350W "Performance" preset on the onboard toggle switch. Temps are significantly lower in the ~275W "Quiet" preset. Original box and packaging is included, as well as the original proof of purchase upon request. First owner, nonsmoking home, this card is in pristine condition.
Current retail on this card is $650, so I'm looking to sell it for
$550 shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
Please comment before PMing so I know you're not banned, and thanks for looking!
