My Japanese mom is living in upstate NY at the time but when my father passes on she wants to return back to Japan, where I currently am. My mom is in her mid 80s and is a violent paranoid schizophrenic, As a kid she hit me a lot and chased with with a loaded rifle and strangled me with a hanky and locked me in a closet and set fire to the door, etc, so I don't want to live with her. It took a few decades of therapy and other healing modalities to finally get on my own two feet in life. But I love my mom and I was wondering are their any 55+ apartments or retirement facilities in and around Tokyo (her birth home, she doesn't want to live in inaka near me) that could handle an elderly woman on various psyche medications? I don't speak too much Japanese yet and my Japanese husband just says you have to have millions to get into a good one in Tokyo (or there are cheap nursing homes in inaka but she is not going to be happy sitting around in a nursing home setting in Japan).
Also the issue is my mom stopped updating her info in Japan around 1969 (she updated a divorce from her first marriage then) and in the early 1970s her relatives said she is listed as missing. My "immy atty" recently told me that after seven years she will be considered dead BUT my "immy atty" is not sure any more info than that but is trying to find it. I saw a lot of these retirement centers require you have long-term health insurance in Japan. My mom will have around $1/2 million (savings, father's life insurance, house sale) and she is set up to continue to get father's $60k USD per year pension and she also get social security (through father's work, mother was a housewife/artist).
What would you recommend she can do for supervised elderly living situation in the Tokyo area that allows her to have her own apartment (with her little dog) but there is emergency help if needed (and maybe a meal plan and dining area for elderly to mix)? When her medicine works she is good but I'm not going to lie when she occasionally gets psychotic she is scary af, like in the past several years, she got caught by the police entering neighbor's yard with knives because the devil told her to do it, etc.
I love her but I don't know how to handle this situation. What would you do or who do you recommend I talk to in Japan? I feel she has enough money to go somewhere and I can keep an eye on her from a distance (I am an hour or two by bullet train from Tokyo). I have modest self-employed income and hubby doesn't work. Mother says if we don't help her she will just kill herself like her eldest brother did but I don't want that. Or she says if she stays in the USA she will go to a facility that takes everything and probably won't treat her good once it runs out fast with USA facility prices, which can run several thousand to ten thousand a month or more (plus entrance fee). BUT she says she want s to live in Japan over the USA. I have a younger sister in San Fran but mother doesn't want to go there. We have relatives in Tokyo but they cut my mom off for threatening yakuza on them for their money, all changed their phone number but one who doesn't answer my mom's phone calls/letters. I think my mom was serious about yakuza threat on my rich Tokyo relatives, as she asked me to look for yakuza in Japan BUT of course I did not 9my mother doesn't understand yakuza have no power today vs 1960s). When I left the USA she was secretly trying to take out life insurance on me, while telling me she didn't care if I died and jokingly giving me rat poison as candy. I know this all sounds outrageous and this is the highlights but I still love my mother, despite her being mentally ill but i love from a distance and don't want to get burned by her BUT I want her to be ok, while not jeopardizing others. Is there any place that can handle her kindly and basically it would probably cost her all the $ she has?
Though she is prolly listed as dead in Japan for not updating in over 50 years she has a Japanese passport she'd been using to visit Japan on and off the past few decades, it's currently expired but we can try to re-new it at NYC Japan Embassy.
Recently, when my mom talks to me on the phone she is very nice but begging me find her solution in Japan, her birth country. She is looking to spend $2000 a month or so.

Anne Driskell has orange eyes, hazel hair, yellow clothes, and is the fairest of face out of all of the Inaka Musume cures. Her Cure Ego, Cure Hardee, has a tortoise theme; her shell allows her to ward off all but the strongest offenses. Anne's prone to dimwittedness inside and outside of battle, but she's not to otherwise be underestimated. Her signature move is the Precure Artillery Shell Dynamic. It allows Cure Hardee to retreat into her shell and give it enough energy to create a small explosion of purifying light wherever she lands next.

Ken wasn't any the wiser until Ena saw through his plush bird disguise and had a heart-to heart with him. The message of Ena’s favorite song is the definition of the very philosophies she lives by.

Kiki is a Key Lime Pie themed children's musician with proficiency in the Banjo. She was Cerfeuil's apprentice in Cook Fighting, but she left for Ken's dimension after she told her that she felt that a career in music would be more to her liking. Kiki hasn't returned to the CooKingdom since, but she wants to.

A Recipepe that represents Key Lime Pie stowed away in Kiki's backpack when she left the CooKingdom. Little Citrus is very curious, as she couldn't stop herself from exploring Faulkenburg when they first arrived there. She was disappointed to learn from Kiki that Recipepes were uncommon in Florida, but that doesn't stop her from looking for her own kind. Little Citrus is the secondary mascot of the Inaka Musume Cures.

Requesting HD photos was great, as you have the option to upload a sample image instead of trying to describe how you want them to take the photo. Specifically, when requesting HD photos of my 550s, I sent them images of how I wanted them to pose the shoes and they did exactly that.
Their customer service with returns/refunds leaves much to be desired. In the multiple times I requested returns/refunds for items that do not match their description/image, they always sided with the seller. My 550s had some minor flaws, yet they would side with Old Chen saying I can't exchange them. I also GP'd some Inaka Power shorts which ended up being really cheap, shitting material that did not even look like basketball mesh material. Again, they sided with the seller saying there were no flaws, even if it was clear in the photos that the material do not match. I ended up paying return freight (20yuan) which was just annoying.
When it comes to their website, they do not (yet) have a mobile app or mobile-optimized website. I had to top off on some unpaid postage and trying to navigate the website on mobile was a nightmare.
Rehearsal packaging was a simple process, and it's nice to see there was a 10% discount across the board on all available shipping options. However, I had to do rehearsal shipping twice, as I had to request a second demo in which the shoeboxes were kept in the package, but flattened. There are not many options for customizing your packaging, it's either keep the packaging or discard it completely.
Upon receiving the package, it was taped up nicely. Each item was double-bagged (nice plus), but I was disappointed to see how poorly the clothes were vacuum-packed. Upon pulling out the bag, I noticed it was no longer tightly vacuumed. Whether the seal broke in transit or it was never properly vacuumed, I feel like Pandabuy could have used a smaller box and reduced the shipping price.

ALD x MLB / New Era Cap (TSARCHIVE) - size OS 49¥ 91g 8/10

It's the ALD takeover and before you say anything, YES this is technically a fantasy piece. The retail hats are fitted but I am not a fan of fitted caps. If you want something that is actually close to retail you can find that HERE for about 88¥.
Back to the hat in question, great looking piece for the price. Aside from the strap, everything else looks close to retail. Perfect Spring / Summer cap and colorway. Construction is solid and though it was smushed in the box, it sprung back to shape in a day or so.

Boost Insoles (TRY MY WAY) - size black mesh 2cm, 37 58¥ 275g 10/10

If you're familiar with my hauls, then you'll recognize these. I won't say too much, but these are a wonderful buy.
While ordering, I recommend selecting your color and height preference first (ie. red net 2cm), and that will narrow down the available sizes for that model. These sell out pretty quickly, so the often don't have many of the more common sizes in stock. If you're a fan of boost cushioning, then you'll be a fan of these.

ALD x New Balance 550 Natural Green (Old Chen) - size 41.5 199¥ 1223g 7/10

I'm finally jumping on the ALD 550 bandwagon with my favorite colorway, Natural Green. By now, some of you have noticed that I've taught myself to become a 550 QC aficionado. I did this mainly to help myself for when I finally ordered my own, but also to help the community with a shoe that has a lot of subtle variation between colorways and "generations." In my months of research, Old Chen has one of the best batches of the Natural Green colorway, especially for his price.
HOWEVER, as stated above, I had some exchange issues w/ Pandabuy and Old Chen and ended up having to keep the pair I have here with some minor flaws. Honestly, they're too small to notice, but as someone who's been QC'ing 550s, I fucking hate seeing these flaws. The most noticable flaw exists on the outter sides of the shoe. The toebox wraps around to the outter sides, then juts down diagonally into the midsole beneath the 550 logos. On my pair, each shoe's toebox juts down into the midsole on different parts. This is only noticable to the trained eye, and even at that, it's really only noticable if you're looking at them side by side.
These are a mostly leather shoe, and the toebox is pretty cramped, especially if you have wide feet. I'd recommend getting these stretched out before attempting to break them in.

CDG x Converse All-Star High (Mr. Hou) - size 41 210¥ 1239g 8/10

I've had these shoes in my favorites for over a year now and I'm finally pulling the trigger. The white colorway is perfect to match with many Spring/Summer fits. I've always been a fan of Mr. Hou's quality and I absolutely love my FOG x Converse All-Star High's from him. Both shoes fit TTS like retail Converse. Something to note, retail CDG x Converse don't run half sizes, even though Mr. Hou does. I still recommend going TTS as if these were standard, non-collab Chucks.
On feet, they are fairly narrow. I was planning on wearing them to work one day, but quickly decided against it as my right foot was extremely cramped and was already in pain walking around the house. Definitely recommend stretching them out before further wear. I also noticed a slight blemish on the right shoe's heart logo, though very minor. Other than that, logos, colors, and everything else look great.

Salehe Bembury Pollex Crocs (1688) x2 - size M7W9 90¥ 820g 9/10

A definite star of the haul, the highly sought-after Pollex Crocs by Salehe. Huge shoutout to u/hbeer for the original Find. The seller of these has a minimum order quanity (MOQ) of 2 pairs so I went with the Cucumber and Menemsha colorways. Since the retails of these fit one size large, I stuck to that and sized down once.
With no-show socks on, the shoes are a bit loose, and almost impossible to wear without the turbo-strap on. Even with the strap, I feel my heel slip out of them. With my small-ass ankles and calves, they look abnormally chunky. However, this changes with some tube socks and even with some loose-fit jeans/pants.
Comfort and material both appear to be on par with retail Crocs after comparison to my gf's standard retail Crocs. I would still rate Merrell's hydro mocs higher on the "squish" and comfort scale, but I'm still very happy with these.
Though the boxes these come in do not match retail, everything else looks amazing. The fingerprint patterning appear to match, as well as the subtle branding and printed text on the ankle bands. You do get the secondary color ankle bands as well, just like retail. Absolutely insane buy for the price.
Size down once.

EwoK Eric Emmanuel Shorts (ANGEL KING) x2 - size L 66¥ 238g 9/10

I'm late to the EE shorts game, but I'm coming in at budget pricing. These are great compliments to my summer wardrobe with a little flair and are definitely my favorite casual-comfy shorts. For simple mesh basketball shorts, I personally feel goofy paying more than ~$10USD for any one pair of these.
For these budget pairs, the quality is not bad. Out of the bag, they feel starchy and stiff. They are are all single-layered and are slightly see-through, so be aware of what you wear underneath. After an intial wash, they feel slightly softer. I'd imagine over time they'll break in. Sizing across the shorts appears to vary slightly; some shorts are tight around the waist while others feel just right. Perhaps there's some variation in the elastic band.
At this point in my bulk, these shorts are a bit slimmer than I'm use to but I'm actually liking how the Large's hike up against the quads. #Sky'sOutThighsOut If I buy again, I'd probably go for XL.

Pretty pricey for shorts in my opinion, but I've been in the market for a style of shorts like these for a long time. I was on the verge of paying +$60USD for retail DARC SPORT shorts like these but I like the minimal branding more with these.
So I don't know what Jerry was thinking when he designed these, but the drop crotch on these are fucking idiotic. I can't think of any universe where it would be a good idea to put two seams on the rear of the shorts that go up each goddamn cheek instead of one seam down the middle like normal fucking shorts. This drop crotch makes it look like you're wearing a fucking diaper and severely restricts movement.
If these are your style and you don’t have thunder thighs like me, these’ll probably fit you better. Hmu, I’m selling these on the BST discord.

Nike Shorts (HanSolo) x2 - size L 78¥ 240g 5/10

Bought these for the gf in black and apricot. From the photos they looked significantly smaller than what we got. These are clearly men's shorts, as we were expecting to get women's-length running shorts. I guess a mix up on our end. At the very least, they do fit me, so at least someone'll wear them. They're still very comfortable and have great stretch in them.
It's unfortunate there's not more clothing reps geared towards women.

What are some good, smaller fitness apparel brands sort of geared towards a younger demographic like Inaka power and youngla?

They look trusty and have some good inaka power shorts, wondering if anyone has ordered from them and knows if they are trustable?
