2023.03.31 05:01 ImTheBlueRanger Old Elgato Card Not Connecting To My B650 AORUS ELITE AX

Hey there!
I have been fighting with this for weeks now and I have not gotten any closer. I have, at this time, 2 Elgato HD60 Pro capture cards and I am trying to get just 1 of them to work with this machine. I have tested both PCIE ports and they both seem to be working. Again, I only want to install 1 of these cards but a friend sent me a second one because I assumed the card hard to be dead. That being said, I have tested both cards in both PCIE slots and I cannot even get this thing to appear in device manager. I have downloaded software and drivers to see if on that side of things but I genuinely believe its hardware related. It is not being read by my MoBo and I am at a total loss. I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask but I am hitting roadblocks at every turn and I am very frustrated. This card ran great on a rig I built back in 2015 and lasted until just a month ago, but this new PC can't seem to hack it? I don't buy it. Please help if you have any thoughts at all!
Thanks!

Whenever I'm playing games like Diablo 4 Beta, Diablo 2 Res., Diablo 3, etc. my screen flashes black intermittently. Sometimes it will be very rapid flashes, other times it is only 1 time a minute, and most of the time I can play with no flashing but it is very annoying when it happens. I don't see my framerate drop below like 60fps. I run at 4k120 on HDMI 2.1. No overclocking. I have tried reinstalling the Graphics Drivers for the Intel integrated graphics and also GeForce Experience/ current driver but the problem persists. Can anyone please help and let me know what else I can do to alleviate this issue. Computer Specs Below

2023.03.31 03:07 MariusRex Loud fans in newly built pc

Hi there!
Specs: Gigabyte B650 Gaming A AX Amd Ryzen 5 7600x Kingston Fury ddr5 32gb 5200mhz Gigabyte 4070ti Eagle OC 12GB M.2 1tb Gigabyte UD750W 80Gold BeQuiet Pure Rock 2 FX CPU cooler BeQuiet light wings 120mm 1x BeQuiet light wings 140mm 2x In a nzxt h5 flow case with 1 preinstalled fan which I’ve put as the fan pushing air out.
Built my first pc today with help from my uncle. Everything works and everything has been set up, but the noise from the fans are surprising, it’s louder than my old 970gtx pc which I replaced.
I’ve put the fan control to silent and when not running games just being on my desktop the noise is great, nothing to complain about, but every action I do on the pc such as plugging in a usb unit like my mouse, the fans go crazy and stabilize shortly after.
The overlook I see on the control center the cpu cooler is running minimum 1400rpm up until 1600 which makes it around 60-65celcius, while the others chill at sub 900, is there anything I can do or change in bios that would help me reduce the noise, it shouldn’t be this loud in a game that wasn’t a problem for my old pc.
Thank you very much for reading this far if you did and I would really appreciate any tips for what I could do to reduce this noise!

2023.03.31 03:07 Own-Cost9676 Help with distortion / noise

Hey everyone, I just want to see if anyone has any suggestions for me. I just built a new PC and wanted to get some higher quality headphones to have a little more fun with it. I am brand new to the headphone world but I picked up a pair of Sennheiser HD58x and Beyerdynamic DT 770 pro 80ohm. I figured I’d get both so I can compare and contrast and try to learn a little more, I also got a magni 3+ to power them (I probably should of got the heretic, noob mistake). I have really annoying distortion/noise with both when listening to music, the Sennheisers seem worse but it’s noticeable on both pairs. After fiddling with it for a while I decided to try my old Sony WH1000xm4s by plugging them in directly and not using the bluetooth. They are also noisy as hell.
I didn’t buy a super expensive mobo but I figured $270 would still give me alright audio quality but I guess not (it’s a Gigabyte x670 Aorus elite with a Realtek ALC897 chip? Codec? Or whatever it’s called). Idk if there are settings I can try to adjust or if I should just order a DAC and forget about onboard audio. I was going to get the modi when I got the magni but I saw so many people say it’s not needed if you have a decent mobo. I’m pretty bummed out I really can’t enjoy these right now but that’s how it goes sometimes. Thoughts?
Any help is very appreciated

2023.03.31 01:28 DeityDay Trouble Installing Windows / Z790 aorus elite ax / NVMe Samsung SSD 980 m.2

Hi friends,
Been ten years since I built a rig and I’m a dabbler not a master here… I have nice pieces 13900k, 4090 MSI Trio, aorus z790 elite ax mobo, NVMe m.2 2TB SSD… build going well so far until Windows install attempts.
(Got my memory XMP settings up from 4800 to 6000, all set there I think.) Trying to install Windows 10 from USB to my m.2 and I’m having problems.
In motherboard settings I see the m.2 drive in M2A slot of MOBO, so it’s recognized by the MOBO. 1. In boot order settings I don’t see that drive in the boot order though, is there a setting I need to tweak? All I see is UEFI General UDisc 5.00 Partition 1 (General UDisk 5.00). Tried turning SecureBoot on and off. When I try to boot with that, it’s loading Windows Setup, click next, Install Now, “A media driver your computer needs is missing. This could be a dvd usb or hard disk driver. If you have a CD DVD or USB flash drive with the driver on it, please insert it now. If the installation media for windows is in the dvd or usb drive you can safely remove it for this step”. Hit okay, “no device drivers found. Make sure installation media contains correct drivers. Then click ok.” 2. I think something is wrong with my usb installation media?
  1. I’m going to try for the third time a reinstall of windows onto this 8GB USB drive (that’s enough space right?) and try again. I did a hard format FAT32, then a quick format, before each of my first two attempts to get installation media on this USB. The first time I had filled the drive almost 100%, second time had 3.14 GB free do I think something is off here.
  2. I have a blank old SSD 125gb. Is it easier if I just install new license windows onto that and then copy it on to the m.2? (How to do that if so?) I do plan to keep my old rig for my girlfriend so I need two licenses for windows IIRC.
  3. Any other advice for z790 aorus elite ax bios settings optimization?
Thank you for your time and help. Francis

2023.03.30 23:10 SatoshiTheLover Not a fan of fan trouble.

Hello all!! After a few months of research, I was able to buy and build my first gaming PC. Everything (more or less) went according to plan until the end which is where my problem lies. I own an MSI Gungnir 110r TG ARGB case paired with a GIGABYTE Aorus Elite AX V2 B550 motherboard that's Ryzen 5000 ready with an update from last November's making it bios version 2.20.1271 See the full build here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/pPGwd9
The fans are already pre-installed into the build, all I needed to do was connect the three front fans to a 3-way header. Then plug the 4-pin end into the fan system pin port on the motherboard. However, when I did this, the fans spin but don't light up. I was wondering if I did something wrong. Do I have to wait till it boots up all the way to use RGB fusion 2.0? Did I wire it wrong? Any advice is helpful.

2023.03.30 22:49 sarpie11 Ryzen PC shutdown when idle/low load (kernel 41)

I have just built a new pc, and one particular problem has been unsolvable for me.
Parts: Cpu: ryzen 7700x, Gpu: gigabyte rtx4070ti, Mobo: b650 aorus pro ax Psu: seasonic px750W Ram: Gskill ripjaws S5 6000mhz
When I let the pc idle for 15-30 minutes, it crashes with event viewer listing kernel 41. I have tried bios version F2, F3, and F4b but same issues. I have tried disabling c-state in motherboard settings, and again same issue. Then i tried setting psu idle power to typical from auto. Still nothing. This has been driving me crazy, I am starting to think of returning the mobo/cpu and just going asus/intel. This doesnt seem to happen when i’m doing something demanding such as downloading games/playing games, talking with friends in discord. It only seems to happen when the pc is doing something that is not demanding such as browsing web or just idling. I have also tried enabling/disabling XMP on my RAM and trying different slot combinations, as well as reinstalling windows completely, but still no progress.
I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue on am5 with a similar combination of parts, and what you did to fix it.
Thanks to anyone that looks at this post and engages

2023.03.30 21:52 atomey Anyone experimenting with 48GB DDR5 or 2x48 GB DDR5 on AM5/7950X?

I recently purchased a 7950X and running it with a Gigabyte x670 Aorus Elite AX. I noticed their BIOS has experimental support for 48 GB DDR5 now so was curios if anyone has actually tried it.
I'm running 2x32 GB DDR 6000 G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO Series with AMD EXPO. When I tried to run 4x32GB DDR5, system would basically not boot with AMD EXPO, since it tried to run at 6000 MT/s but only around 3600 is possible with 4 sticks from my understanding.

2023.03.30 21:34 Aerlynx Motherboard for Ryzen 7 5800x3D

Hey so my current specs for my system are:
Ryzen 5 3600
RTX 3070
32 gb ram
and a Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite

I know there are a couple versions of my motherboard but im honestly not sure which version it is I do have. But basically I want to upgrade to the Ryzen 7 5800x3d and I am not sure which motherboard to get or if I can update my bios or something. I havent done a bios update before tbh. But what do you guys suggest?

I do know that the new cpus are coming out but upgrading my ram, cpu, and motherboard is a bit out of my price range.

2023.03.30 21:32 lysdexic_mule New PC build completely locking up when audio is playing through more than one application at a time?

I just finished my new PC build, the specs are as follows:
It's mostly been running perfectly fine, and is a beast in games. However, since I've finished the build, I've experienced a handful of full-system lockups, where the PC is fully unresponsive including the mouse, and I need to hold down the power button to reboot. There is still sound playing, and there has never been a BSOD.
The one common thread I've noticed is that this ALWAYS happens whenever I'm gaming while doing something else that is playing or using audio. Spotify app, Spotify in web browser, Youtube in a web browser, recording through OBS, etc, and it can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 2 hours to crash. If I'm just playing a game, there is never a crash. Could there be some sort of problem with the audio drivers?
Editing to add what I've tried so far:

2023.03.30 20:21 derangedhaze B650m Aorus Elite AX: Q-Flash+ Instructions Unclear

Instructions listed here state that I need to rename "the file" to gigabyte.bin. As the download is a .zip, this reads as renaming the zip. Tried it. Unable to qflash.
Instructions listed here state that I need to extract the .zip to the root of the FAT32/16 drive. Did that as well. Unable to qflash.
Proceeded into BIOS to flash, and it verified the BIOS file ending in .F5a, rebooted for secure BIOS flashing, and then failed to post for an hour straight with no signs of activity.
Also, I can only get into BIOS some of the time. It variously hangs at the logo screen, fails to POST, or otherwise locks up and I have no idea what the issue could even be.
There is a bright red LED lit at power on, next to RST_SW, but that LED doesnt exist in the manual so I don't know what is being indicated here.
