I was practicing writing orders and decided to use the game that I love as an artistic example of what a military operation should look like. The order is rudimentary and simple. Ive omitted some COAs and specified and implied tasks. Its also not perfect but here you are I'm welcome to any criticism by anyone who knows RLTW.

SITUATION
a. Enemy Forces:
The enemy, Clan (X), occupies a 6-story sheet metal base with multi-tool cupboard extensions. They have conducted two merge raids in the past 24 hours, controlling large oil rig and underwater labs for the past 48 hours. The enemy has an estimated (X) number of members. Our mission is to assault their base and destroy their ability to project influence in the area.

b. Friendly Forces:
Our raiding force consists of (X) highly trained and motivated raiders. The Allied clan will provide support by constructing a tower parallel to our position to provide 360-degree security and cordon the raid. Our objective is to conduct a foundation wipe on the enemy's base and establish control, allowing freedom of movement for resource collection in the area.

c. Terrain and Weather:
The objective area is located in a snowy environment. The operation will be conducted under cold conditions, requiring cold protection measures for our personnel. The terrain is predominantly open fields with some natural cover.

MISSION
Our mission is to conduct a raid on Objective (X) to destroy the enemy's ability to project influence in the area and establish control over key locations such as large oil rig and underwater labs. This raid will enable friendly forces to freely extract resources from the area and assert our dominance.

EXECUTION
a. Concept of Operations:
The raid will be executed in several phases, each designed to achieve specific objectives and ensure the successful completion of the mission. These phases include Shaping Operations (Phase 0), Deter and Deceive (Phase I), Seize the Initiative (Phase II), Dominate (Phase III), and Stabilize (Phase IV).

Phase 0 - Shaping Operations:
During this phase, we will conduct aggressive actions to weaken the enemy's defenses. Two sets of two MLRS strikes will be executed, respectively 6 and 3 hours prior to the raid. Intelligence gathering efforts will include drone reconnaissance, naked scouting, and timing the enemy's activities to identify vulnerabilities.

Phase I - Deter and Deceive:
In this phase, we will employ aggressive deception tactics to confuse and divert the enemy's attention. Openly discussing raiding another target in chat will create the perception that our focus is elsewhere. Additionally, targeted harassment against other groups using a small percentage of our resources will further distract the enemy.

Phase II - Seize the Initiative:
During this phase, we will execute a swift assault to seize the initiative and establish our dominance. The scheme of maneuver is as follows: Raider Team 1 will initiate the movement from our base to the raider's base, commencing 15 minutes before the templated raid time. They will maintain stealth and noise discipline to avoid detection. Raider Team 2 will establish the raid base rapidly, setting up defenses such as auto turrets and compound walls under the guidance of the raid base leader.

Phase III - Dominate:
In this phase, we will exert our full force to dominate the enemy and destroy their base. Each raider will participate in launching a relentless assault using rockets. The objective is to launch one row of rockets at the enemy base's foundation and level one floor at a time, systematically weakening the structure until the foundation is completely wiped. The rocket leader will coordinate the rocket strikes and ensure accuracy and effectiveness.

Phase IV - Stabilize:
In this final phase, we will consolidate control over the objective area. All raiders will eliminate any remaining threats and secure the raid base. The raid base leader will be responsible for ensuring its security and maintaining operational readiness.

LOGISTICS
a. Resupply:
Resupply will be conducted via mini-copter in the event that additional ammunition is required. The raid base will have a Tier 3 workbench with enough crafting materials to accommodate 400 meds and 3000 rounds of 5.56 ammunition.

b. Medical Support:
All players will have a bed platform half a grid before the raid base location and one bed in the raid base. Additionally, there will be three additional sleeping bags available. Medical support will be limited, as players can respawn.

c. Transportation:
All raiders will proceed on foot to the objective area. Rockets will be carried by hand to ensure mobility and readiness.

d. Weapons and Equipment:
Each raider will carry one AK with a full kit and a jacket. They will also carry 14 meds, 3 wood walls, 200 cloth, and two rows of rockets. These provisions will enable them to engage the enemy effectively and sustain their operations during the raid.

e. Raid Base Setup:
The raid base will be established to support our operations. It will include necessary defensive measures such as auto turrets and compound walls to secure our position and protect our raiders.

COMMAND AND SIGNAL
a. Command:
The raid leader will exercise overall command and provide guidance throughout the operation. Subordinate leaders will execute their assigned tasks and coordinate with the raid leader as necessary.

b. Signal:
Communication will primarily occur via Discord, utilizing voice channels and text chat for coordination. Priority speaker roles will be assigned to the raid leader, rocket leader, and raid base leader to ensure clear and effective communication.

Hi all,
Question: I'm looking for any Traktor Pro 3-compatible controller that does NOT have any performance pads... Only full 2-4 channel mixer and the usual jog wheels, faders.
Background: I gig regularly in major clubs where I use different flavours of Pioneer CDJs (900/2000/3000) in HID mode. For hot cues, looping, etc, I use my X1 mk1. Therefore, for home, I need a controller that has just a mixer and basic equivalent CDJ functions (jog wheels, play/stop/cue, tempo faders) - no performance pads needed as that's what my X1 is for.
I previously had a full Pioneer CDJ/DJM setup at home but sold it because I gig so regularly, and it was just taking up space. Now I need something cheap and smallish for home to play around with when required. I don't care how cheap it is... as long as it's TP3 compatible with no performance pads.
I've bought both the (extremely cheap) Numark DJ2GO2 and Hercules DJControl Starlight but they're just too small and missing a complete mixer section. I'm hoping for something similar in size to a S2 or even DDJ400 but without performance pads.

Before we dive into the main guide, let me give you a preview of what you can expect from the content below and share how I stumbled upon this contest.
Throughout this thread, I will introduce you to a more effective approach to learning any language, delve into various methods and resources that are popular in the language learning community, and guide you on harnessing the full potential of your Boox device as a powerful Japanese language study tool. I will walk you through different programs and tools that I personally use in my studies, which heavily rely on screen usage. This is precisely why I began searching for an e-ink device with the necessary hardware and software to support my workflow. During my search, I came across the Onyx Boox Leaf 2 contest, which happened to be the exact model I planned on purchasing. I realized that discussing how I intend to utilize it in my own studies aligned perfectly with the theme. At the end of the guide we should be able to utilize our boox device in three categories.
Although it may require some time and effort, the rewards of switching from OLED displays to a crisp and clear e-ink screen will be more than worth it. In the visual below, you can get a glimpse of what might await you after completing the setup.

#### 1.) A fresh perspective on language study
Traditional language learning methods attempt to teach a languages by utilizing tools such as grammar drills and vocabulary lists. However, these methods are highly insufficient when it comes to truly interacting with the language. It's like trying to learn how to swim by sitting next to a pool and reading a book about swimming mechanics.
Fortunately, Stephen Krashen, the leading linguist in the field of language acquisition research, has introduced a far better approach. Contrary to traditional methods, Krashen proposes the Input hypothesis. According to this hypothesis, true language learning only occurs when the student is actually immersed in the language, rather than simply studying it. In short, it's about jumping into the pool and swimming instead of reading about it.
To gain a deeper understanding of Krashen's hypothesis, (!) I highly recommend watching the video below (!) where he dives into more detail. The information contained in the video is essential for the rest of the guide.

That is exactly what we are trying to do, prepare our brain to understand messages in the content we consume. In short we try to increase our comprehension of the language we want to acquire.
The elements used in this method and a short summary of them for the sake of clarity are as follows:

###### Immersion:
The act of consuming content in our target language at our level or slightly higher.
###### Grammar:
Instead of pointless grammar drills, grammar points are only skimmed trough until a vague understanding is established. Immersion will handle the rest, as it did with our native language where none of us had to sit down and do endless grammar exercises to learn how to speak it as a baby.
###### Vocabulary:
Language acquisition is not a sprint but a probably 4 year long marathon but the brain is not all that great at storying information over a long period of time. We will overcome shortcoming with various tools mentioned later in this guide.

#### 3.) Turn your Boox device into a Japanese study power tool
Now that we have established a basic understanding of our method let us continue with specific resources and tools we need to study Japanese on our Boox device
We need to set up three systems,
System 1.) Vocabulary (digital flashcard system)
System 2.) Grammar (grammar guides trusted by the language learning community)
System 3.) Immersion (set up a digital pop up dictionary to read Japanese content )
All of the systems and programs shown below I already use on my Android phone and PC.
But thanks to the Leaf 2 not being an e-ink reader but an android 11 e-ink tablet, all of the necessary programs and applications are supported and can be used on the device. Necessary details for the set up for each system will be included in the rest of the guide.
##### System 1.) Vocabulary:
There are two problems we face in traditional vocabulary study that we can easily be solved with an application widely used in the language learning community called;

What is Anki:
Anki is a digital flashcard system that can be used like traditional vocab cards where the target word is on the front side and the translation with the example sentence + audio is on the backside, as shown below.
This digital system helps us address two main issues associated with traditional vocabulary lists:

Issue 1:
On average, beginners need to learn the first 3000 most common words in a language to comprehend local newspapers. However, there is no efficient way to track and review the words we have learned, those we are likely to forget, and the ones already forgotten.
Solution 1:
In the visual below, we can observe a memory retention graph that depicts the percentage of information remembered after each passing day before undergoing review.

If our vocabulary is not revisited periodically, as can be seen in the graph, it is destined to be forgotten. However, Anki, being a digital system, effectively tracks all of our vocabulary. It stores information about the cards we struggle to remember and those we effortlessly recall. Moreover, it alerts us to the cards we are about to forget just before we forget them. Anki proves to be a superior system compared to traditional cards.

Secondly, the relevance of the words in language learning books' word lists is not based on the frequency of the most common words in the language. Instead, these lists typically align with the topic to be covered in the next chapter. This lack of connection to the language's most frequently used words makes it an inefficient use of our time and motivation.
Solution 2.)
Thanks to the popularity of the Japanese language there are many pre-made anki decks that are specifically designed to contain the most common words in the Japanese language.

Immersion is the key to acquiring a new language. By immersing in native content, you expose yourself to different words, phrases and grammar structures in various situations until you develop an intuitive understanding of their nuances.
The amount of time you spend immersing yourself is the most important factor in determining how quickly you can learn your target language. Grammar and vocabulary study are merely supportive tools for immersion; only the time you spend immersing yourself will enable you to acquire the language. It's crucial to immerse yourself on a daily basis or at least very frequently, unlike traditional methods where you attend a class twice a week, which is utterly insufficient.
Now that we understand the importance of immersing in native content we have to clear up a few more questions:

What to read as a beginner:
It is possible to dive right into native content but that is quite challenging and intimidating for beginners. However, there are helpful resources available such as graded readers, which facilitate the initial entry into the language. Graded readers are designed with different levels, each level carefully curated to include a specific quantity of the most commonly used words in the language. This approach not only simplifies the learning process but also provides a more accessible and engaging way to progress in your language acquisition journey.
An excellent example is the graded readers series by Olly Richards, which takes a different approach to language learning. Instead of relying on monotonous drills and exercises, the series utilizes captivating stories to engage and captivate the reader, making the language learning experience more enjoyable and compelling.

However, there is another valuable tool we can utilize to help us select books that match our skill level.
Migaku is a website that offers a range of tools and resources for language learners. In particular, the Migaku Reader's stats function is useful for book selection. This function analyzes the words in a book, along with the words you have already learned in Anki, and provides a comprehension percentage estimate for your reading experience.

During language immersion, it is common to come across unfamiliar words that we feel the need to look up. However, it is essential for us to make a note of these unknown words as we encounter them. This is where the Migaku browser extension proves invaluable. By providing a pop-up dictionary, the extension seamlessly displays translations of the encountered words.

This process, often referred to as sentence mining, involves creating our own deck of flashcards. By incorporating these new words into personalized flashcards, we actively reinforce their meanings and usage, resulting in improved vocabulary retention and overall language proficiency.

Another great tool is Mokuro, a OCR system that turns the text on manga pages into selectable text so we can use the pop up dictionary on these pages. It is not a plug in play system though, it takes some tinkering to set up so i would not advice it for non-technical people.

I'm looking to get a mid level amp for some B&C 18NW100 1200W at 4 ohm. It doesn't need to be quiet as I will be using it for outdoor parties. It would be the best if I can find either one with 4 channels (1 per channel) or one with 2 channel 2 ohm stable that can handle 2 in parallel.
I am open to look for a resale as well.. Right now I found the Crown Xti 6002 with an option having plenty of headroom when running 1 speaker per channel, but only 20% extra headroom at 2 ohm (2400 vs 3000). Other option are lab gruppen clones from simbosen, CVR amps etc. What's your opinion on clones/ chinese amps?
What are some other options I should look into?

Guten Morgen allerseits,
meine PC Tage liegen leider schon etwas zurück, so dass ich bei Hardware ziemlich raus bin. Meinen letzten PC habe ich daher bereits zusammenstellen lassen, das war Mitte 2021. Nun habe ich vor einiger Zeit angefangen, Hell let loose im Comp Bereich zu spielen und merke, dass meine Hardware da einfach nicht mitkommt. Meine Frage wäre jetzt, kann ich den PC noch sinnvoll upgraden, ohne direkt alles neu machen zu müssen? Welche Komponenten kann ich in einem bezahlbaren Rahmen (ca. 500€..?) tauschen, um mehr FPS bei höheren Grafikeinstellungen zu bekommen?

Das ist offensichtlich so vom Lieferschein abgeschrieben. ;-)

Ich brauche keinen Tower mit Einblick, blinkende Komponenten, etc., also die Optik der Teile ist mir egal, der PC steht bei mir unter dem Schreibtisch.

Ich weiß, dass ein besserer Monitor hier auch sehr helfen würde, dies ist beim aktuellen Setup aber nur schlecht möglich (Arbeite auch an dem PC und habe 2 Curved-Monitore, bei denen mir wichtig ist, dass es dieselben sind.)

Even just having the ability to filter out logic points that are already connected would greatly improve the system across the board, ideally an advanced filter system would be added, such as creating groups, filtering parts, etc. The need to not only use but also create microcontrollers for instrument panels feels excessive and unnecessary. Simplifying panels, or giving the option of a simplified instrument panel that does not need to use a microcontroller, would go far in decreasing the games barrier to entry.
Built in GPS maps. The fact that this game does not have a built in GPS map, like those tom tom gps map things you see on older cars is absurd when career mode’s map doesn’t show where you are on the map. And before anyone says that it’s “realistic”, if fishing boats in the Bering Sea can have a GPS map during rough weather, I see no reason why a SAR vehicle wouldn’t have such basic equipment. The current career mode’s starter boat is kinda useless at the starting base for this reason, there aren’t many landmarks out in the ocean, and I shouldn’t have to use the workshop just to make the base boat functional.
Radio console. A simple premade radio console with knobs and such would also be nice and simplify a decent amount of logic.
Custom window, wedge, and pyramid dimensions and/or more of these blocks in general, and make them more customizable (ie changing the windows color to green or putting designs on wedges and pyramids)
Small boats keep water out, don’t need a closed volume to be buoyant
Sails
18th century weaponry
Life rafts
Emergency inflatable slides (for planes)
Gliding
Oars
Premade vehicles for every basic need you have in game. There should be basic, cheap, premade cars/trucks, boats, etc that can fulfill most of everything you would need to do in game. Nothing particularly fancy, just simple builds that can easily supplanted by custom creations that can serve as references for your own builds or be stopgap measures until you build replacements.
Search and Recovery. Unfortunately, not every SAR operation is successful. Missions about recovering remains would be nice and can add a decent bit of variety. For example, maybe a hiker found a body in a hard to reach place in the mountains, and because of that an offroad vehicle or aircraft is needed to get there, diving on a wreck to recover remains, or recovering a car from a lake. Other missions could also be diving for investigation critical components, such as black boxes or voyage data recorders, or even specific components that investigators want to find.
More in depth rescue/injury mechanics. Stuff like sprained ankles, injuries, pregnancy status, health conditions, etc, requiring different things to heal/stabilize. This would also add a sense of urgency to each SAR mission, as now you can’t solve/delay everything by throwing a first aid kit at it. Maybe the local hospital doesn’t have the facilities to treat a time sensitive, so you have to transport the patient to a bigger hospital. Dealing with things like hyperthermia would also be nice.

Other SAR teams/companies to have a presence in the world and are able to be called upon if needed.
Nuclear reactor disaster
More variety and depth for SAR missions, such as an aircraft ditching in the harbor, an aircraft going missing and having to search for it, recovering lifeboats, a nuclear powered ship sinking and having to deal with the radiation, chemical tankers releasing toxic chemicals into the water, sinking an adrift vessel, stopping an illegal salvage operation etc. A cool idea would be to add in the possibility for major accidents to happen, such as a cruise ship capsizing, a nuclear powered ship sinking, or a military aircraft armed with a nuclear warhead being lost over the ocean. Another cool idea would be to add interviews with accident investigation teams after some accidents, such as when a ship sinks because of poor maintenance about what you saw. Obviously, the interviews should only occur for more major accidents and when the player could actually have relevant information. There could also be complications for missions, such as the ship still moving and unable to be stopped, the whole crew is incapacitated, etc.
In the same vein as no 22, an overhaul of Search And Destroy as it pertains to the overworld would also be nice. Instead of simply having an AI that fights the player, how about having 2 major factions that fight each other, the local military and an invading military, with the option of creating your own faction to take over the islands. This would differ from the previous system by making it so that you would complete orders issued to you, such as patrolling a specific area, engaging a fleet, mining or demining a waterway, etc. At first, you start out doing gruntwork, but as you move up in rank the more you can do, such as sending grunts to do the gruntwork for you. You could also give the option for the player to make their own faction Another thing that could be added are pirates and pirate gameplay. SAD could also add in new missions and disasters, such as disarming mines from the second world war, serial killers, hijacking attempts, a fire at a munitions dump, etc. You can have a lot of fun in regards to disasters and special missions too, such as cleaning up a munitions dumping ground (like what the Norwegian military did, dumping thousands of tons of munitions into a river) or a sunken supply ship detonating (like that one off the coast of England) and dealing with the after effects of that.
Hiring AI to do things for you, such as a doctor to administer medical assistance to survivors, a captain to drive a boat, SAR divers to recover people from the sea for you, etc.
Passenger playstyle. Ferrying passengers around feels like a logical next step in the game, with factors such as reliability, how fast you can get to destinations, feats (ie having the fastest passenger ferry in the world even if it does not operate at that speed regularly or having the biggest ferry, etc), price per ticket, amenities(free or paid movie theatre, comfy seats, concession stands, is the interior a comfortable temperature, is there a barbershop and if so is it any good, etc) and necessities (do you have enough seats, is there a bathroom, do you have enough life preservers, if it’s overnight, do you have any beds etc). Options to run excursions with famous or historic ships, simple cruises/excursions to places around the islands would be nice too.
Expansion of delivery and miner playstyles. Expansion of these playstyles, such as hiring AI to do parts of the job, either as employees or contracting out another company to, say, transport coal from your mine to the powerplant would go a long way to fleshing out these playstyles. You can even have the option to do smuggling runs of illegal or illicit goods. Smaller deliveries that can be handled with a van, or doing mail runs would be cool as well as oversized delivery missions. Increasing the variety of cargo to transport, such as transporting locomotives and/or cars for export would be cool.
Terminal loading cranes.
A R&D mode which would allow for quick and easy analysis of a creation where you get raw numbers on a ship’s current tilt, balance, engine performance, etc with the ability to easily change the weather and conditions of the environment and easily switch to build mode.
Shipwrights. The idea here would be to overhaul building mechanics as it relates to career mode. Instead of being able to instantly build everything, how you can modify your vessel is limited to what your facilities can do. To get a brand-new ship, you would have to commission it from a shipwright. Before commission, you would have access to R&D mode to fully test out the vessal. Where the fun part really begins is that you can have an entire playstyle built around receiving commissions for ships by the AI (or even other players) for a desired vessel within x specifications at a cost of x amount for x amount of vessels within x timeframe with a bedroom made out of 50% windows at a height of x feet, or even upgrade/modify preexisting vessels as part of a commission or to flip on the market, buying older vessels of varying states and giving them a new lease on life. How many ships you can produce at a given time would depend on your facilities, which can be upgraded. Of course, there would be aircraft and land vehicle equivalents. You can even see the ships you produced doing their job in the world.
Salvaging. Another playstyle that I feel would be a next step for Stormworks would be salvaging vessels either for scrap, refurbish them for resale, restoration into a museum piece, or simply to clear a waterway. You could even give the option to illegally salvage shipwrecks.

Supernatural phenomenon. My idea for this is that you would have two categories of phenomenon, explicable and inexplicable. Explicable phenomena would be phenomena that have scientific explanations for them, things such as ghost lights with scientific explanations behind them, maybe have some missions where you disprove the supernatural. Having everything be explicable, however, can be underwhelming so actual supernatural phenomena, such as fleshgaits (especially with SAR being the core theme of Stormworks), ghost ships, or alien encounters, especially if mechanics, such as SAR, are incorporated in it. Like, imagine a seemingly normal SAR mission turning out to be the rescue of aliens from a crashed spaceship and you have to transport them to a drop off point where the MiB is waiting, or a mission where you first set out to debunk the supernatural to then be assailed by the flying dutchman.
More doors, buttons, ladders, stairs and hatches (ie: a traditional house door, car doors, glass hatches, etc)
Panels that can be used as signs or “hatches” for otherwise external equipment (ie in order to access a fire extinguisher you have to open a hatch first, im sure there is a better word for it but I can’t think of it)
Moonpools
Pools
More buildable/modifiable properties, especially for terminals. Could be expanded with the ability to flip properties.
Races
Competing manufacturers of equipment and engines that have varying strengths and weaknesses that improve as time goes. This would also make the game more accessible by giving new players the ability to easily access better engines while also rewarding those who learn how modular engines work by allowing them to jump ahead of the AI. Perhaps a system where you can lease or even produce your own engine designs could be implemented to further reward and encourage using modular engines.
If the game becomes comprehensive enough, the ability to change which era you play in (1700s, 1800s, 1940s, etc) would be a really cool addition by adding in technological challenges of older eras. Additionally, there could be supernatural phenomena that isekai vehicles to and from different time periods, which could add in a whole variety of interesting missions and challenges.
Built-in couplers for trains
Wind having an effect on the player (exiting an aircraft and standing on its wing should result in you being yeeted off the aircraft)
Pressurization
Ingame tutorials like what From The Depths has
A better openworld, NPCs, and RP experiences. The world of Stormworks feels very much dead, which is a shame because that is it’s biggest selling point for me over other building games like simple planes. It gives a reason for all the vehicles being built beyond simply being cool, you can actually DO things with it. I would recommend solving this by:
Create actual population centers. Not huge cities, but small towns dotted across the islands with actual businesses and populations would go a long way to improving the game world, maybe have one or two cities on the island itself so we can do stuff with skyscrapers.
Global traffic of personal, commercial, and government boats, aircrafts and land vehicles would go a long way to making the world feel less empty. Having npcs use a dedicated radio channel for chatter, and which you can interact with them through would be great. This traffic responds to ingame events, for example increased outgoing road traffic when a disaster is about to hit
More realistic roads
Navigation signs, buoys, etc
NPCs operating gas stations, bridges, and industries in general.
Relating to one, make NPCs not only interactable beyond being glorified money bags, but also interact with their environment. Such as trying to move away from fires, calling for help when they see a vehicle, moving towards a stopped SAR vehicle and climbing aboard, getting inside a vehicle of their own volition or swimming to shore when they are literally meters away instead of staying in the water and/or burning boat. Having NPCs interact with the player as well would also be great, such as thanking you for saving their lives, buying the player a beer as thanks if they meet in a bar, etc would be nice. Ideally, there would be a number of persistent npcs who have names, personalities and backstories. Such as Joe, an old sea captain who’s vessel is painted pink in memory of his 6 year old daughter who disappeared, and, if he thinks his vessel is about to sink, will desire to go down with the ship and be resistant to his personal rescue.
Consequences for your actions visible in game. For example, if a casualty becomes a fatality, there is a funeral service held at the graveyard.
NPCs having varying fluencies in English
Missions with storylines attached to them, such as an archaeologist searching for Atlantis, or a group of sailors looking to raise the cargo ship they worked on after it sunk.
Radio music channels
TV channels, can also have a gameplay effect through amenities
Newspaper with an obituary, some fluff news stories, generic articles, state of the economy, ships launched, details regarding the SAR missions you did or didn’t do, in game events, etc.
Unmarked missions, for example lets say Captain Joe’s ship sinks, but Joe survives. Joe is depressed, but if you go out of your way to salvage and repair Joe’s ship and give it back to him he will be happy.
NPC backstories being more then just a text in a box, perhaps a mission leads to you finding Captain Joe’s daughter, alive or dead leading to either a heart warming reunion or somber closure.
News interviews
Points of interest, such as abandoned buildings, natural wonders, historical locations, museums, heritage railroads, businesses etc with lore surrounding them and special missions for that location. For example, lets say there is a hot air balloon tour operation. There would be a few special missions pertaining to hot air balloons in that location. Or for the heritage railroad, their engineer called in sick so they need someone to fill in for the day.
Flavor for missions, for example maybe a family of four reported in the burning boat and watch you put out the fires
NPCs react like real people in the sense of physiological reactions, such as grieving, becoming frozen in shock, mental breakdowns etc.
All disasters have effects (when applicable) in the overworld, such as destroyed homes, ships transported inland, etc. Having missions pertaining to the aftermath, such as removing large debris from roads and tracks to recovering missing persons.
Visual deterioration of abandoned/sunk/crashed vehicles
NPCs may try to take advantage of disasters, such as by robbing people on a sinking ship, looting buildings after a disaster, etc
NPCs may panic and act irrationally when in a disaster, such as taking life jackets away from women and children, releasing lifeboats/liferafts early, etc
Skills and attributes, such as consoling, leadership, physical fitness, bartering, etc

That’s my wishlist for now. I know it’s a lot, and some of it may seem to be a bit much, but I don’t think any single thing is out of the realm of reasonable possibility. The biggest appeal of Stormworks, at least to me, over competitors such as Simpleplanes is that there is a purpose behind what you build. I think that if Stormworks were to expand on RPG elements it would not only greatly elevate the game as is, but also expand the audience while enhancing the core experience.

2023.06.08 06:40 malexm777 Ancient rivers in Arabia, especially around the borders of Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Oman

In 1993 there was an article on "NewScientist" discussing the use of remote sensing to uncover an 850-kilometre channel (starting at the Hijaz Mountains Saudi Arabia and finishing in Kuwait), which is currently covered in tall sand dunes, so was never recognized as a large river system.
A similar discovery was made in the Sahara desert back in 2015, if memory serves - uncovering the Tamanrasett River.
I am curious to know if any similar work has been done in southern Arabia, especially around the borders of Saudi Arabia, Oman and Yemen.
I strongly suspect there is at least one ancient river that runs directly from the border of Saudi Arabia - and then through Yemen, very close to the Oman border, if not snaking through the Oman border at some point - and there may be another, separate ancient river further south that runs from Oman into Yemen, about 50 - 70 kilometres from the Saudi Arabia border.
Both river systems would now be covered in sand, including the very tall dunes of the Empty Quarter, so are not currently visible.
I strongly suspect these rivers were active c. 9000 - 3000 B.C.
However, I am looking for data to prove my theory. Does anyone know if similar work has been done in the area of interest? And does NASA currently have technology similar to the Japanese PALSAR that was used to uncover the Tamanrasett River network in the Sahara desert?

2023.06.07 14:47 Realistic-Ad5720 Japanese knife sharpening question

I just purchased my first Japanese knife and wanted to know more about sharpening and maintains them. I spoke to JKI regarding sharpening and he recommend a 2000 grit sharpening and a 6000 finishing for that knife- gesshin 210 wa gyuto. The steel is AUS-8. Would these two work? I also looked up some YT channels and one video even recommended using just a 2000-3000 stone to do mild sharpening regularly to avoid using a 6000 to finish. Can anyone comment or point me to any discussion? Also a video from Knifewear said it’s ok to hone the Japanese knife with a ceramic honing rod but the getting started guide on this page was against it. Just confused by the conflicting information if people can help clarify.
Edit- JKI said that stone 1000-3000 should suffice and a finishing stone is not necessary but would help give a nice smooth edge and a better look.

Hi, I'm fairly new to Adobe Premiere Pro and I've applied Auto-Ducking so a background track fades as my voice comes in. Only issue is that I want to manually adjust the volume of the music. When I look at tutorial videos they all have manual adjustment toggles on the music track (see pic) but when I apply Ducking options, those manual toggles aren't showing for me (see pic).
Does anyone have any ideas why this is?
