I'm (F 27) currently working part-time (10 hours per week) for a mutual connection that needed help establishing a sister business under their K9 drug dog company. I have experience with graphic design, content creation, social media management, and some PPC (but I'm not a digital marketing expert). I've been working in the marketing field for over 5 years now for small businesses. I was hired on to start a dog training business within the K9 business to help make money to pay back their investors (lol this K9 business is funded by investors *don't ask*).
I was tasked with designing the sister businesses' logo, building a website, managing their social media, and basically getting this side dog training business off the ground and running as fast as possible for them to make money. I work remotely and live over an hour away from the brick and motor location, so the trainers will send me content to post on social media etc.
I'm hitting a major roadblock helping their sister dog training business get clients. At first opening, it was decently consistent, but now since February, it's been pretty dead for them. I've been recently getting the short end of the stick it's my problem that I need to resolve. There are a lot of factors that the president and owner are not understanding that is making this a very difficult challenge for me.

1. The service area is in a more rural town location where the average income is $25,000-$35,000 (not joking). The majority of the population are not college grads. So finding the prospect that will convert for them is already difficult to find in the area.
   
2. The owners want to charge premium pricing for their services (3k for a 4-week board and train) and only offer board and train or extended stay boarding. This pricing would be relevant if they were closer to the city, but when I compare this pricing with local competitors, they are more expensive and do not offer other services like group classes etc.
   
3. There are 4+ competitors within 20 miles of this facility. This includes a Petsmart that offers training and 2 other local dog training businesses that have been in the area for over 20 years. There is also a couple of known boarding facilities as well that offer cheaper pricing than what the owner wants to charge. And it doesn't help the competitor's facilities appear to be designed with pet dogs in mind, while this facility that I'm marketing was originally designed for K9 working dogs. So competitors look like an inviting place, while this one is more bare bones.
   
4. Communication is extremely poor between myself, President, and the owner. Being an hour away and with how busy the owner is dealing with their main K9 business and also this sister business, most of my emails and texts are ignored daily. The owner contacts me consistently last minute and doesn't keep me in the loop on how business is going (like today they contacted me to run a Facebook PPC ad because they haven't had any new clients in weeks). The owner constantly argues and questions me about every little thing. Sometimes I will go weeks of no contact from them then suddenly get a call to light my ass up because no clients are calling them.
   
5. All of my advice has been ignored. I have tried to have discussions on value proposition and working on local strategy. I got them in contact with a reporter for the local paper, which they never followed up with. I told the owner to establish connections with local vets in the area and join the local chamber of commerce (which was ignored). I told the owner to follow up with clients and get reviews on the google my business page, which they inconsistently don't do.
   
6. The content the trainers send me has no value. I've expressed to the owner what content will perform best for the social media channels and have even sent emails with ideas on what I need. The owner will argue with me and say that the trainer's videos and pics that they send me are "just fine" and tell me I need to drive out there to get the content if it needs to be so specific. The quality of the videos I get sent is dark and always horizontal, which is not ideal for reels or TikTok. Content is always sent to me inconsistently and when I reach out to ask I get pushed back on and told to "leave his trainers alone bc they are busy". So there are periods of time where no content is being rolled out.
   

So far, I've done a decent job with what I've been given. The sister business opened in October (hasn't even been a year in business) and has done nothing but grow in impressions overall on social media channels and website. Currently, I have them ranked #3 on Google for local board and train facility. I grew their Facebook page organically to 1k followers already. I have Google biz setup, yelp, and social media accounts. I try to make use of the content the trainers give me the best I can and most posts get 10-30 likes and 3-10 shares on Facebook, so I think I'm doing the best that I can with what I'm working with.
I've decided on putting in my two-week notice to terminate this contract because I'm tired of the pressure to get them clients and being yelled at unprofessionally by the owner when it's not in my wheelhouse or my responsibility from my contract. I'm a marketer that needs some structure and communication. Plus I'm only working 10 hrs a week and they are asking me for a miracle. I only get paid $300 a week from the owner to not even communicate with me or listen to any strategy that I suggest. (Yes I agreed to this price I know). The owner doesn't even want to invest in Google ads due to the cost, which I don't even think will help unless they build trust in this small community and invest more in establishing value.
My question for the marketers that read this...am I crazy for stepping away from this? I want to help this mutual connection but I feel like there's no helping them unless they get someone to do marketing in-house and/or understand the fundamentals of marketing. What would you do in my shoes? How would you help a just-established dog training business that is struggling to maintain a steady flow of clients?
Is this a common occurrence in the small business world, dealing with difficult clients and stepping away from them? Are business owners expecting young marketers to pull a rabbit out of a hat and take charge of all marketing efforts? Just blows my mind. We live in a townhome with a shared wall. The family on the other side is a man, woman, son (12-ish), and daughter (14-ish). The woman regularly yells and swears at her son.
Once in a while, things get really ugly, and the woman (mother?) all out screams and swears at her son. During a particularly epic screaming rampage, we we heard (and felt) what seemed to be a body thrown against our shared wall, followed by the son crying. Something similar happened again tonight, and we could hear the woman yelling something about how the son had been "burning" something in their house. During another incident, I heard what sounded like the mother slapping her son (like palm against cheek) followed by the son whimper-crying. We suspect that the mother binge drinks, as we've heard her vomiting in the bathroom on several occasions (which is right on the other side of our bedroom - yeah, crappy design). I was once married to an alcoholic abuser, so the binge/abuse behavior is familiar.
Nuisance notwithstanding (they also leave dog shit in their backyard for weeks, which REEEEEEKS in he summer at attracts all the flies; other neighbors in our development call their house "Mayhem Manor"), we believe this is a child abuse situation.
We know something is definitely wrong, and ultimately, we want to help the kids who shouldn't have to be in that situation.
Has anyone gone through something similar? What would you do?

I’d like to have kids in the next 6-8 years but my schooling will go on longer than that. I want to have a stable house and job by then but that leaves me stuck on what to do. I’m rethinking my whole career path of becoming a clinical psychologist just because of the time.
I want a job where I work with people individually and help them, I’ve always been fascinated by psychology. I know there are a few jobs related that may only be 4-5 years but I want to make a good income (100k or close per year) as I want my kids to be well provided for.
I don’t want to have kids that late but I’m I’m not sure if that means I should pause my schooling for a few years or what’s. I hear about people thinking they’ll go back but never having the time.

My partner and I were about to move to a bigger (more expensive) house. It's fallen through and we've been unable to find a new buyer so are looking at staying where we are a few more years before selling up and living abroad for a while. When we come back, we will want to buy the bigger house but being a few years older won't be able to borrow over as long a period so want to have as big a deposit as possible. We currently just save any leftover cash at the end of the month into an easy access savings account.
So, my question is, what is our best savings strategy in that time? There are no more improvements we can make to add value to our current house. Should we pay down our current mortgage as much as possible or make cash savings or a combo of the two? My partner is totally risk adverse so any savings need to be safe and also ok to stay where they are should we be living abroad (Europe) for a couple of years. I am a British citizen and my partner should have his citizenship by the time we go.
Any advice much appreciated, we're both a bit clueless when it comes to finances and just have a 175k mortgage and a savings account, no other debts or investments.

Company co-founder Dan Houser left Rockstar in 2020, and ever since then the development house has been trying to reshape a corporate culture that the report refers to as being "like a frat house".
Given the nature and tone of the humor in the Grand Theft Auto series, it's really not surprising to hear that the atmosphere inside Rockstar was juvenile and chauvinistic. The report remarks that the workplace culture at Rockstar was "full of drinking, brawling, and excursions to strip clubs." As part of the report, author Jason Schreier casually reveals that GTA 6 will have at least two playable protagonists, and that one of them will be a Latina woman. This technically isn't the first playable woman nor even the first playable Hispanic woman in the GTA series; the very first GTA game featured a Latina named "Katie" as one of its eight playable characters.
Still, very few of the series' modern fans even remember the old DOS-based Grand Theft Auto, so we can forgive everyone for forgetting about poor Katie. Regardless, the new girl will apparently be part of a Bonnie-and-Clyde-like crime duo, calling to mind the partnership between Claude and Catalina in the beginning of Grand Theft Auto III. Hopefully the partnership between the new player characters in GTA 6 doesn't end the same way that one did.

26 yo female in a relationship w/ male 31 yo dating for 5 years and living together for 4 years. For the first year I never thought our sex life was an issue, I lived with a roommate, and he had a shared house with his siblings and family. He says he is not very sexually active/motivated before we started dating and kept blaming our environment, or that he wasn't feeling well. The attempts that I made that got rejected really hurt me to the point where I would rather just please my self. Am I in a relationship I need to leave? Is he cheating? Our communication is terrible. Mocking the people he defrauded and the fans at a celebration of Miami itself. Flaunting the team’s increase in value, an achievement that an intern doing the bare minimum would have accomplished all the same. Recently, Samson has openly questioned, undercut and downplayed not only Adnan’s movie knowledge, but Cinephile’s place in the Meadowlark lineup on multiple occasions with no clear motive other than jealousy that he wasn’t hired. I mean seriously dismissive, to the point where Cote checked him and said “David if you don’t think you sound jealous and bitter then you aren’t hearing yourself.” Keep in mind, David has played up the hard man role for years now. He literally built his entire brand on cold, calculating, emotionless and unfaze-able. He’s un-ironically Adnan’s biggest hater and now after he’s hired he wants to come in with the “aw shucks Adnan let’s forget all that stuff and be pals now” and Adnan is just supposed to eat it? He wants to play the hard man, but throws a fit and storms out when the shipping container busts his balls? He’s not charming, likable or charismatic. He isn’t funny, he’s socially inept, tone-deaf, pro-corporation, anti-labor, and can’t take a joke. He is the antithesis of The Dan LeBatard Show with Stugotz and his entire persona is a facade, a futile shield held wobbly to disguise a hateful, insecure little man. David Samson, fraud.

It was about a little boy who moved to a new house with his family near a beach, and he would go down the stairs to the beach to play with his kite. He had an older sister. His grandma had passed away, but he could see her and she would tell him stories.
