Hello my heartbroken friends. I wanted to post this because I feel it might help a lot of you out there, and tell you how my life turned out a year and some months after my breakup.
I used to scroll on this subreddit hours a day always looking for some good words of advice and looking at other’s progress throughout time.
People say most of those who heal don’t ever come back to this subreddit because they don’t feel the need anymore. It’s true, I fully healed from the breakup and I ended up not coming here anymore, until today.
Here’s a little bit of my story. My (23M) ex-girlfriend (22F) ended our relationship on early 2022. I felt awful and I thought I had lost the best girl I could ever have, she was my first and I didn’t know anything other than her.
I took some time to heal, I believe I was 100% healed about 8 months after it happened (I also found out by this time that she has been dating the guy I should never worry about a week since we brokeup).
I felt good but I wasn’t being able to find a girl that made me feel what she made me feel, and that made me a bit worried.
After some time I got closer and closer to a friend. She was in a relationship for a long time and I never saw her as more than a friend, because she was dating, but she was always the type of girl I wanted.
Well in the end of 2022 she brokeup with her boyfriend and we eventually got closer and have now been dating for a few months.
There’s hope my friends, I don’t like to compare people but she is better in every possible way, sometimes I don’t even believe a girl like her loves me, she’s truly amazing.
Hope this cheers you up and I’m open to answer any questions. Life removes some things just to replace it with better things.

 | The Siege of Jerusalem was conducted from June 7th to July 15th, 1099, during the First Crusade (1096 - 1099). submitted by Captain_Phelps to Crusadershaven [link] [comments] Having captured Antioch in June 1098, the Crusaders remained in the area debating their course of action. While some were content to establish themselves on the already captured lands, others began conducting their own small campaigns or calling for a march on Jerusalem. On January 13th, 1099, having concluded the Siege of Maarat, Raymond of Toulouse began moving south towards Jerusalem assisted by Tancred and Robert of Normandy. This group was followed the next month by forces led by Godfrey of Bouillon. Advancing down the Mediterranean coast, the Crusaders met little resistance from local leaders. Recently conquered by the Fatimids, these leaders had limited love for their new overlords and were willing to grant free passage through their lands as well as trade openly with the Crusaders. Arriving at Arqa, Raymond laid siege to the city. Joined by Godfrey's forces in March, the combined army continued the siege though tensions among the commanders ran high. Breaking off the siege on May 13th, the Crusaders moved south. As the Fatimids were still attempting to consolidate their hold on the region, they approached the Crusader leaders with offers of peace in exchange for halting their advance. These were rebuffed, and the Christian army moved through Beirut and Tyre before turning inland at Jaffa. Reaching Ramallah on June 3, they found the village abandoned. Aware of the Crusader's intentions, the Fatimid governor of Jerusalem, Iftikhar ad-Daula, began preparing for a siege. Though the city's walls were still damaged from the Fatimid capture of the city a year earlier, he expelled Jerusalem's Christians and poisoned several of the area's wells. While Tancred was dispatched to capture Bethlehem (taken on June 6th), the Crusader army arrived before Jerusalem on June 7th. Lacking sufficient men to invest the entire city, the Crusaders deployed opposite Jerusalem's northern and western walls. While Godfrey, Robert of Normandy, and Robert of Flanders covered the walls of the north as far south as the Tower of David, Raymond took responsibility for attacking from the tower to Mount Zion. Though food was not an immediate issue, the Crusaders had problems obtaining water. This, combined with reports that a relief force was departing Egypt forced them to move quickly. Attempting a frontal assault on June 13th, the Crusaders were turned back by the Fatimid garrison. Four days later the Crusader hopes were boosted when Genoese ships arrived at Jaffa with supplies. The ships were quickly dismantled, and the timber rushed to Jerusalem for building siege equipment. This work began under the eye of the Genoese commander, Guglielmo Embriaco. As preparations progressed, the Crusaders made a penitential procession around the city walls on July 8 which culminated with sermons on the Mount of Olives. In the following days, two siege towers were completed. Aware of the Crusader's activities, ad-Daula worked to strengthen the defenses opposite where the towers were being built. The Crusader's attack plan called for Godfrey and Raymond to attack at opposite ends of the city. Though this worked to split the defenders, the plan was most likely the result of animosity between the two men. On July 13th, Godfrey's forces began their attack on the northern walls. In doing so, they caught the defenders by surprise by shifting the siege tower further east during the night. Breaking through the outer wall on July 14th, they pressed on and attacked the inner wall the next day. On the morning of July 15th, Raymond's men began their assault from the southwest. Facing prepared defenders, Raymond's attack struggled, and his siege tower was damaged. As the battle raged on his front, Godfrey's men had succeeded in gaining the inner wall. Spreading out, his troops were able to open a nearby gate to the city allowing the Crusaders to swarm into Jerusalem. When word of this success reached Raymond's troops, they redoubled their efforts and were able to breach the Fatimid defenses. With the Crusaders entering the city at two points, ad-Daula's men began fleeing back towards the Citadel. Seeing further resistance as hopeless, ad-Daula surrendered when Raymond offered protection. Crusaders cried out "Deus volt" or "Deus lo volt" ("God wills it") in celebration. In the wake of the victory, the Crusader forces began a widespread massacre of the defeated garrison and the city's Muslim and Jewish populations. This was sanctioned mainly as a method for "cleansing" the city while also removing a threat to the Crusader rear as they would soon need to march out against the Egyptian relief troops. Having taken the objective of the Crusade, the leaders began dividing the spoils. Godfrey of Bouillon was named Defender of the Holy Sepulchre on July 2nd2 while Arnulf of Chocques became the Patriarch of Jerusalem on August 1st. Four days later, Arnulf discovered a relic of the True Cross. These appointments created some strife within the crusader camp as Raymond and Robert of Normandy were angered by Godfrey's election. With word that the enemy was approaching, the Crusader army marched out on August 10th. Meeting the Fatimids at the Battle of Ascalon, they won a decisive victory on August 12th. |

In February, Rockstar confirmed that development of Grand Theft Auto VI is well underway. In July, the TakeTwo subsidiary publicized that it would no longer work on Red Dead Redemption 2 or its online offering to focus on the development of the next title in the mega-popular GTA series. Despite this, talking about the next installment in the 25-year-old franchise is discouraged, at least on the official Twitch channel of Rockstar Games. This follows behavior the company started exhibiting on YouTube as well.
When users attempt to type GTA VI or GTA 6, they are greeted with the message that appears when a banned word or filter is applied on Twitch channels – "Your message wasn't posted due to conflicts with the channel's moderation settings." Publishers hushing people on their own platforms about titles is nothing new. Wild speculation can often draw attention to things the developers may not wish to reveal or may not have information about yet.

Grand Theft Auto VI is not expected to be available until sometime in 2024. The belief right now is that Rockstar wants to focus marketing on the Grand Theft Auto Online portion of their business. GTA Online has shown a regular player base and persistent earnings for the company. There's potential for a loss of funds if people's focus is shifted away from what is currently earning them money.
There is very little known about the new title. Some people have ventured guesses that we may see a return to Vice City, the fictional city based on southern Florida cities in the United States. As of right now, the only information anyone has from Rockstar for sure is that it is being worked on. Anything else is most likely speculation.

 | The Battle of Ascalon (August 12th, 1099). Following the capture of Jerusalem from the Fatimids on July 15th, 1099, the leaders of the First Crusade began to divide the titles and spoils. Godfrey of Bouillon was named Defender of the Holy Sepulchre on July 22nd while Arnulf of Chocques became the Patriarch of Jerusalem on August 1st. Four days later, Arnulf discovered a relic of the True Cross. Led by Vizier al-Afdal Shahanshah, the army encamped just north of the port of Ascalon. On August 10th, Godfrey mobilized the crusader forces and moved towards the coast to meet the approaching enemy. He was accompanied by Arnulf who carried the True Cross and Raymond of Aguilers who bore a relic of the Holy Lance which had been captured at Antioch the previous year. Raymond and Robert remained in the city for a day until finally being convinced of the threat and joining Godfrey. While advancing, Godfrey was further reinforced by troops under his brother Eustace, Count of Boulogne, and Tancred. Despite these additions, the crusader army remained outnumbered by as much as five-to-one. Pressing forward on August 11th, Godfrey halted for the night near the Sorec River. While there, his scouts spotted what was initially thought to be a large body of enemy troops. Investigating, it was soon found to be a great number of livestock which had been gathered to feed al-Afdal's army. Some sources indicate that these animals were exposed by the Fatimids in the hope that the crusaders would disperse to pillage the countryside, while others suggest that al-Afdal was unaware of Godfrey's approach. Regardless, Godfrey held his men together and resumed the march the next morning with the animals in tow. Approaching Ascalon, Arnulf moved through the ranks with the True Cross blessing the men. Marching over the Plains of Ashdod near Ascalon, Godfrey formed his men for battle and took command of the army's left-wing. The right-wing was led by Raymond, while the center was guided by Robert of Normandy, Robert of Flanders, Tancred, Eustace, and Gaston IV of Béarn. Near Ascalon, al-Afdal raced to prepare his men to meet the approaching crusaders. Though more numerous, the Fatimid army was poorly trained relative to those the crusaders had faced previously and was composed of a mix of ethnicities from throughout the caliphate. As Godfrey's men approached, the Fatimids became discouraged as the cloud of dust generated by the captured livestock suggested that the crusaders had been heavily reinforced. Advancing with infantry in the lead, Godfrey's army exchanged arrows with the Fatimids until the two lines clashed. Striking hard and fast, the crusaders quickly overwhelmed the Fatimids on most parts of the battlefield. In the center, Robert of Normandy, leading the cavalry, shattered the Fatimid line. Nearby, a group of Ethiopians mounted a successful counterattack but were defeated when Godfrey assaulted their flank. Driving the Fatimids from the field, the crusaders soon moved into the enemy's camp. Fleeing, many of the Fatimids sought safety within the walls of Ascalon. Precise casualties for the Battle of Ascalon are not known though some sources indicate that Fatimid losses were around 10,000 to 12,000. While the Fatimid army retreated to Egypt, the crusaders looted al-Afdal's camp before returning to Jerusalem on August 13th. A subsequent dispute between Godfrey and Raymond regarding the future of Ascalon led to its garrison refusing to surrender. As a result, the city remained in Fatimid hands and served as a springboard for future attacks into the Kingdom of Jerusalem. With the Holy City secure, many of the crusader knights, believing their duty done, returned home to Europe. |

My name is Steven Toth and I am a former LEO lecturer in the department of Chemistry at UM Flint. When I started at UM Dearborn and UM Flint in 2015, I was making $28,000 teaching full time. By the time I left UM in the Summer or 2022 I was making $43000 teaching full time. This is a very large increase- over 60%! Don't take my word for it- my salary info is public and can be seen here:

During the time of the most recent LEO negotiations, I was the chair of the LEO union at UM Flint and a member of the strike team- the group created to put pressure on the administration in the form of public actions. We organized a lot during this period and really had strong shows of public unity and strength. Members of other unions- including GEO!- came out and support LEO in a huge way, and the administration caved into our biggest demand: Pay parity for lecturers across all three campuses. That's right, starting in 2023, all three campuses will have the same starting salary for lecturers, which is $51000 (a HUGE increase from my starting salary at UM Dearborn of $28000). This win was incredible. I remember when I first started HR said that UM Flint and UM Dearborn lecturers would never be paid the same at UM Ann Arbor Lecs! However, LEO organized, had a lot of help for its allies, and really forced UM to increase salaries to a fair and equitiable wage. If you would've told me that as a lecturer in 2015 that my salary would effectively double by 2023 I would not have believed you. That, however is the power of the union and collective action.

I am so grateful to the LEO Union members for always fighting for me and fighting for a salary that truly made me a better teacher. As my salary increased, my stress decreased, I could quit my second job(s), and I could get reliable transportation. PS: I am now a "lecturer equivalent" at Washtenaw Community College. Again, since you can look up my salary I will just tell you- it's $84000. The Univeristy of Michigan has the third largest endownment of any public college at 17.3 billion dollars. The endownment at Washtenaw Community College is significantly less at 20 million dollars. Tuition at WCC is also significantly less per credit hour. If you believe the story that "there just is no money at UM and that's why the salaries have to be so low" you are buying right into the administration's narrative.
PPS: My time at UM was an absolute joy. I loved it, and I loved the students. I taught at all three campuses. This was truly one of the happiest times of my life. I also think I did a good job and had a pretty good reputation, but that is certainly up to the students and not to me. The only reason I left UM was because of the WCC salary offer. I get that "money isn't everything" or whatever but it sure does help. If UM could've matched my WCC salary I may still be there. Good salaries retain top talent. GEO is fighting to make a better campus atmosphere for all students.

When I see the job posting, it is mostly for senior level software engineer and very little openings for new grad/junior level.
Also, it shows salary very low. It shows like 70~100k for senior level software engineer and 45~67k for junior level. Most job opening for junionew grad level requires at least 6 month experience on job, plenty of languages and frameworks and the salary is mostly around 50k which is much lower than median salary for entry level.
My searched location is DFW and Austin in texas.

I had my surgery, a gastric bypass, in October of 2022. In April, I will be 6 months post op. Since 3 months post op, I have been rapidly losing hair. My hair is short as I choose to keep it that way, but it used to be so thick and full of volume. Now it is less than half as full. My texture isn’t the same and my hair feels dead.
Can someone please enlighten me as to when my hair may grow back and get back to its wonderful shape? It comes out in clumps when I am in the shower, I feel overwhelmed.
I am also taking hair, skin and nails vitamins; I know those won’t speed up the hair growth process, but I am hoping to make my hair stronger. I have switched to silk pillowcases and scrunchies as well. I am so distraught by my hair loss.
I have also hit a wall with my weight loss. I am trying to hit protein goals and make good meal choices, but I haven’t lost anymore weight and I feel so upset by this. I do bike riding and a lot of walking. What else can I do to restart the weight loss process?
This is what I look like now. I still feel chonky.

Wife and I bought and closed on a house in July 2022. The previous homeowners paid the 2022 property taxes in full to the city. Through the funds of the sale, they were reimbursed from us for the days that they didn’t live on the property for the rest of the year (from end of July - Dec 31, 2022). My question is that, even though the city was paid in full by the prev. homeowners and we didn’t pay them directly, are we able to claim 2022 property taxes for the latter half of the year, given that we reimbursed them a portion? Or would it not count since the city was paid by them and not us?
I'm leaning towards not claiming it because the city was paid, and if we were audited, we wouldn't have proof of payment to the city to show the CRA (except for the reporting letter which shows the aforementioned reimbursement between the prev homeowner and current).

I told him "After spending time with you, getting to know you, talking to you, doing things together, I don't feel that way. It makes me really sad that you do but I respect it. I want you to be happy."
He didn't reply and a couple of days later, he said: "Hey, how are you? I keep writing messages and erasing them before I send. It's not out of malice or wanting to cause pain. I want to talk to you, but I'm struggling to find anything to say, so I'm just introspecting until something feels right. Anyway, I hope all is well, and that medication isn't still causing side effects."
I just don't know where we stand anymore and what to do or think. We were planning on getting married at the end of the year but he's relocated for a new job. Hello fellow D2 players! As a follow up to THIS POST, I have finally completed my first big rune word - Infinity (in an eth mancatcher). The runes were acquired over a long time of farming about 1250 chaos seal pop runs, 400 LK runs, 50 cow runs. 3 Sur runes (one from LK, one from chaos and one from act 2 sewers *while leveling the javazon on the playthrough*) and all my other saved runes (3 Ohms, 1 Gul and 6 Ists cubed to the 4th Sur).
My sorc is now level 97.5 from all these runs and about 200 terror zone clears. The best finds apart from the runes were:
I tried playing lightning Sorc with my new Infinity, but it was quite underwhelming without Griffon and sorc torch, so I opted for the enchant Demon Machine build. This is the build I will be using to farm more keys to uber and push Terror Zones to level 99 hopefully. Still missing a Vex to make Flickering Flame, but it still works well.

After a lot of thinking and some tries with a friend's scooter I decided to buy a MQi GT. The scooter is a little less snippy than the NQi I was able to try but still it seemed a good choice.
This happened in February 2022.
After taking it home I noticed it was slower than expected. Much slower. I wasn't able to climb a semi steep road. The one I live in. I actually had to help it with my feet.
So after some back and forth with the dealer he agreed on having a look: electronic control unit.
Ok, so I waited 3 weeks, luckily the dealer had a "courtesy scooter" to lend me (a nice and fast NQi).
A few months go by and one day, in July 2022, the scooter start beeping. Strange error. Stuck on the street. The dealer took the scooter and gave me again the NQi again. Faulty battery.
It took almost 2 months for the replacement to arrive. Super frustrating. Having the NQi saved the day, but this was totally a favor from the dealer.
A few months go by again and we got to March, 2nd 2023. Again some strange fault. This time it's the throttle. Needs to be changed. Almost a month has gone and no news, no updates. I've been given the NQi again. But I'm lucky it's available, otherwise I'd be stuck without scooter.
All this brings me to the main point: the dealer has been super helpful, giving me support, the NQi and getting the scooter wherever I was when it broke. But in 13 months of ownership I wasn't able to use the scooter for almost 4 months. A little less than 1/3 stuck in assistance. Now, the warranty is 2 years from the moment of purchase. I asked multiple times to [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]). They told me to refer to the local importer, KSR Group, and to talk with the seller. Obviously the dealer is bound by the contract that says 2 years of warranty and no obligation to provide a temporary solution.
So I contacted the local importer, [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]), explaining everything and asking for a warranty extension or proposing a model upgrade or some other solution they could come up with.
The only answer i got?
Unfortunately, this is not the source from which to obtain an answer regarding a definitive technical solution, as you are dealing with an administrative office that does not handle spare parts and warranties. This information can be provided by the Dealer, who, if necessary, can contact our Technical Department, which is responsible for the technical support of our network of Authorized Dealers.
Given the above and after conducting the necessary checks, we have found that the replacement part you require has been shipped today and will therefore be delivered to the R.G.F. Dealer in the coming days.
We kindly invite you to get in touch with the latter for further details regarding the repair and return of your vehicle.
WT actual F? So I'm just supposed to wait for the solution of the last problem and hope that everything keeps working after the warranty expire?
I'm super pissed off and I'd suggest everyone to stay away from NIU if this is the level of post sale support.

Like the title says, I just need some outside advice, what would you guys do?
My sister was given a dog last year to take care of because her friend was going through hard times and couldn’t keep the dog anymore. At the time it was supposed to be a foster situation until he got back on his feet. My sister ended up having the dog for 5 months and no longer wanted to take care of the dog, so she asked if I wanted him. I immediately said yes and took him in, this was in July 2022. The dog quickly bonded with me, my girlfriend and the dog we already had and since we hadn’t heard from anybody and figured nobody was coming for him, we started buying the dog new collars, toys etc. fast forward a couple months to January 2023 and I get a random text from the original owner of the dog claiming he got my number from my sister and is ready to take his dog back. i text back we'll discuss it when i get off work, no text back from him, and we never ended up discussing the dog. fast forward to march 2023 and i get a message from the guy on facebook and the tone is alot different this time. Hes threatening me over the dog, claiming I've been "ducking him" and that hes ready to act "stone cold gully".
all my friends and family say i shouldnt give the dog back, but they’re MY friends and family so of course they side with me. My girlfriend and I have been fell in love with this dog, as well as spent a ton of time and money on him over the past couple months so we’re having a hard time just handing him back.

Tez2, a reputable Rockstar insider has suggested on the GTA Forums that GTA 6 is likely to be released this year with a tentative release date of 2024.
According to my own reports which date back to June 2021, this seems to be the case. My sources have said that Grand Theft Auto 6 has been aiming for a 2024 release date for some time, but speculation and past reveal/release schedules of the likes of GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 suggest the game will be delayed until 2025.
If I were to guess – I believe the game would release in the holiday of 2025 instead of the spring.
As for when the announcement is made is unclear, but typically Rockstar Games likes to announce its big reveals on its own. So to set expectations, I wouldn’t necessarily expect the game to be announced at E3. Instead, I expect some form of reveal trailer in Q4 2023 to coincide with past reveals.
According to my own sources, one of the major reasons for such a long-winded “delay” is that GTA 6 will release on current-generation consoles only. With the tentative 2024 date being planned as far back as 2021, it was a means of ensuring that GTA 6 would have a sufficient console market to release on.
In late 2022, Rockstar Games had a security breach that resulted in over 70 videos on GTA 6 gameplay surfacing online. In its subsequent earnings call, Take-Two Interactive addressed investors to state that the leak was unfortunate, but they believe it had no impact on development.
“There’s no evidence that any material assets were taken, which is a good thing, and certainly the leak won’t have any influence on development or anything of the sort, but it is terribly disappointing and causes us to be ever more vigilant on matters relating to cybersecurity”, it was said.
As for GTA 6, for now, we’ll need to continue sitting tight and see what gets announced in the hopefully near future.
