2023.03.21 20:53 Astro_Vibes Pro League Sims - Monte Carlo, no power rankings
| Hello everyone. I have spent some more time procrastinating schoolwork to bring you my updated monte carlo model. Same premise as the one I put together for last split, and notable differences from other simulations ( link) in the fact that I have no power rankings and assume every team is on even footing. There is a discussion to be had as to which approach is more accurate, but these models compliment each other as we can see exactly how the power rankings or lack thereof impact the result. I have increased my sample size from 100 to 1000, but aside from that no changes from last split's simulation. % chance at qualifying to LAN link to spreadsheet submitted by Astro_Vibes to CompetitiveApex [link] [comments] |
2023.03.21 20:51 Yaruga123 I was told growing up that with hard work, a drive to improve ones self and learn, and an education one might succeed in being financial independent in this world. I truly believe that it was a lie. The lie of, "if you do X, Y will come", was a lie of this capitalistic world.
My name is Chris Haltiner, 34 years old, With 10+ years combined retail, shipping/receiving, manufacturing and production, circuit board -surface Finish - immersion gold operator, hotel and night auditor with bookkeeping experience and everything else associated in conjunction with those jobs including instructotrainer and supervisory duties under my belt.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree focusing on criminal justice and social programs of society meant to help people: knowing full well the atrocities of those who fall through the crack of society through no fault of their own. Graduated Magnum Cum Laude, GPA 3.89, Honored on the dean's list 5 semesters consecutively.
Despite all that I have worked for and strive to achieve: I have no job, I have no real home of my own, I have no prospects of being financial independent, still burdened with school loans that may never get paid off. And of what jobs i have tried to get i have been turned down as being insufficient or not qualified.
It is a lie that if you do "X" that "Y" will come: that if you work hard you will succeed. There are so many besides myself that fell for the lie and tried to make themselves more valuable in work and knowledge and now we are all trapped in poverty scraping by with no escape.
More than 150+ applications in the last year and NONE of them and panned out with a job to afford a single home and pay bills where i live. My education has not helped me once to secure any meaningful employment to be financially independent. From supervisor down to basic shift lead positions i have been turned down so many times. And of the few lead positions that were offered in the valley I live in the wages would consume 60% + of the take home pay just to afford the housing of the area without including utilities or anything else.
To make it worse: of what few manufacturing jobs around where I live that would pay a barely livable wage they all require harsh demanding physical labor, 12 hour rotating shifts, with no consideration of the stress and workload of the jobs which has resulted in some of these companies having the reputation of high turnover and bad working conditions.
So the Irony is that if i would have taken one of "those" Manufacturing jobs when I was 21 and worked for 13 straight years, despite the mental and physical toll it would have taken on my body, I would literally be better off financially then had I done all the other jobs and gotten my education.
Life should not be this hard. No one who is willing to contribute into society "work" in some degree, whatever it may be, should feel this trapped, feel so worthless, to be without a home and ability of taking care of ones self and be independent

2023.03.21 20:07 mhowie Heads up concerning Cash App Taxes
I've used Cash App Taxes for several years and, for the most part, had a satisfactory experience. This year, however, Cash App Taxes didn't calculate my total tax properly and initially indicated I owed much more than was ultimately the case.
I discovered this as I checked on the status of my Federal return a couple of days after submitting. Cash App Taxes reported the IRS hadn't accepted due to an error and I needed to "review and fix". Upon this review, it was discovered that Cash App Taxes didn't properly carry over inputted Qualified Dividend information and, therefore, either didn't complete the "Qualified Dividends and Capital Gains Tax Worksheet" or miscalculated when completing.
Fortunately (amazingly?), the IRS did catch this error and this was the reason for the rejection of the initial submission. Upon review, Cash App Taxes had corrected the problem and the net result was a reduction in owed taxes. The corrected version was again filed and immediately accepted by the IRS.
Wanted to pass along in case others were using and had qualified dividends being reported. Might want to double check that Cash App Taxes uses the associated worksheet and the calculations are correct.

2023.03.21 19:43 Kiwi-Rose687 Retesting query
I underwent an overnight sleep study and a mslt in mid 2021 due to excessive tiredness since childhood. This included sleep paralysis, hallucinations, vivid dreams, what I believe to be exploding head syndrome and inappropriate falling asleep from the age of three.
I am almost 32 and have struggled throughout my life to hold down jobs and to even get through any sort of education. I am currently trying to get through a nursing degree but I have to had put it on hold due to try and figure out what is going on with me.
When I first found out about Narcolepsy, I thought I had finally found my diagnosis. Unfortunately, when I got my results, my doctor revealed a normal 10 hour overnight sleep and a mean sleep latency of 10 minutes over 5 sleeps. She suggested that I may just need more sleep than others while simultaneously saying that sleeping too much can also make me tired. Needless to say, I was left feeling frustrated and hopeless.
A month ago I receive a letter from the Sleep Clinic explaining that the were errors made when interepreting diagnostic results and that I would need to come in for a follow-up meeting. I am not going to lie, I maybe hoped beyond hope that my results were interpreted incorrectly and that I was finally going to get the help I needed. It wasn't that at all and was told again the exact same things as before. I kind of broke down which I had never done before and she did suggest going through the test again but that she didn't expect different results.
I have always stayed positive that I will eventually get the help I need but maybe it was all in vain. It seems to my GP that it is depression and that it is 'all in my head'. So I guess I am writing this to get it out of my head but also for advice. Should I bother going through another study or should I just resign myself to the fact that this is how I am and I just need to accept it? I just don't know if I have the willpower to go through it again just to get the same results.
Thanks for reading

2023.03.21 19:41 briana_elizabeth13 Resources for people who don't qualify for government help?
Hi all, I'm a 30-year-old woman living in Connecticut with multiple long-term chronic health conditions, including cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and more. My CP is fairly mild, all things considered. I used to have braces on my legs as a child, but I continue with regular physical therapy so that I can appear as normal as possible. I have about three medical appointments a week for my multiple conditions.
I work for a major university in CT and make what should be a decent salary; however, last year I spent roughly 36% of my salary on medical bills. This left me with about $27k in income after taxes, and my rent is $2200. This means with only my medical bills and rent paid, I have no additional money to spend on utilities, car payments, gas, food, savings, assistive technologies, self-care, or personal spending, which ends up putting me into anywhere between $1000-$2000 in debt a month. Right now, I am incredibly lucky to have my family's partial assistance with payments, and will soon be cutting that cost down by moving in with my boyfriend, however, I struggle immensely to get by.
I am having a difficult time keeping up with my full-time job because my weekly medical care takes about 8 hours minimum. This essentially adds an additional work day for me, just for my health and to stay alive without excruciating chronic pain. I am independent and high functioning enough to work so I cannot go on full disability, nor do I want to, but I do need some financial reprieve. I was hoping to get some help with Husky C or MED-Connect, but I do not qualify based on the limits. Realistically I would want to get financial help so that I can work 4 days a week instead of 5, and use the 5th day as a sort of “health work day.”
Because of my CP, a sleeping disorder, pain levels, etc., I’m often too exhausted to work an extra 6th day for my medical care. This does not take into account helping family members with other health needs either, which I have to do about once a week. I am in the process of applying to new jobs with higher salaries so that I could maybe pay for assistance with my care coordination and household duties, however, this has been a long endeavor and unfruitful thus far.
I feel that the government income limits to qualify for assistance are far too low. I had to get an apartment that had higher monthly payments because I needed certain accommodations available within the home, that were not available with lower-priced rents at the time. Between the cost of living and medical bills, it is not sustainable for me to cover all these payments myself, let alone work a little less and still receive supplemental pay. Does anyone know of any other way to receive financial assistance? Also, is there anything I can do to help change these government limits?
I find it frustrating that the government expects me to function at a normal person's level when I’m not. I have needs that, while they do not prevent me from working entirely, make it extremely challenging to work a full-time job, take care of my health enough to live and get by, and pay for the cost of all these medical bills with no assistance. I feel that there should be lower income/asset limits because I don’t qualify for Hucky C or MED-Connect, and I also don’t qualify for state programs for people with disabilities that could help me with the day-to-day activities that I struggle with.
I feel that these limits do not take into account the cost of medical bills, nor housing needs costs. They assume a higher salary means disposable income, meanwhile, I have a higher salary and am accruing massive debt as a result of my medical needs. Please let me know if you know of anything I could do to receive some kind of financial help or free resources for assistance with daily tasks. Also, if there is anything I could do to help make a difference in getting these limits changed, I’m happy to assist however I can. I feel that I should not be tossed aside and refused help from the government, just because it “looks” like I have enough money. I would expect that as a tax-paying citizen, if the government wants me to continue to function as a working member of society, I should have resources available to me, regardless of income.
TL;DR, By government standards in CT, I make too much money to qualify for help, but I am actually going into debt because of the cost of medical bills. Does anyone know of good/free resources for people who do not qualify for assistance? Looking for financial assistance and/or help with day-to-day tasks for people with disabilities. Thanks!

2023.03.21 19:38 Ieatedyourcookie New Diagnosis - overwhelmed
I just had my gastric emptying study done last week and finally got the results that confirmed what I have suspected for several months since my symptoms started around last thanksgiving. But my doc gave me very little vague information “results are consistent with gastroparesis, likely caused by medication. I recommend a low-fat, low-fiber diet and small meals” that’s all she gave me. Due to my suspicions I have been trying to follow the low FODMAP diet recently to help my symptoms until I got a diagnosis but now I’m finding out that it’s not really for GP and that the GP diet is different. I’m so overwhelmed with trying to figure out what I can eat and what I can’t, I have printed lists of do and don’t foods for GP from mayo and Cleveland clinic websites as well as others and they all say different things. I don’t know what is safe but I hate feeling so awful every time I eat so process of elimination feels impossible and like torture. I’m just so overwhelmed I don’t know what to do. What did everyone else do when they got their diagnosis? How did you navigate eating and diet?

2023.03.21 18:23 Same_Ad_4158 New to SIBO, been given Rifaximin + probiotics&prebiotics. Asking for advice
| Hello everyone, So after several years of digestive issues that have been getting worse, I finally got a SIBO test done a couple of weeks ago and confirmed (which I already suspected) that I have SIBO (hydrogen variant). Results I got from the standard breath test are below: https://preview.redd.it/cy8osdu4d4pa1.png?width=642&format=png&auto=webp&s=2bec55556aee03bf7bc0434c0ec5a7d57bb6c623 After getting this, I went to my GP and she gave me 1 week of rifaximin (4x 200mg tablets per day for 7 days, type is called spiraxin) and after she has given me a prebiotic+probiotic formula for a total of 60 days. In addition to this, I asked about the diet and she only said that I should avoid lactose and maybe fructose but I know I have a lot more triggers so I will start with a low fermentation approach restricting all the classic food groups that right now give me issues (gluten, lactose, fructose, nuts, soy and eggs). However I still have several questions that I would like to put out here in case anyone with a previous similar experience can give their inputs: - Are the ppm results for Hydrogen that I have obtained high or low compared to average SIBO case? Is there a correlation with these results and how many rounds of antibiotics you'll do until symptoms are put into remission?
- For people who had severe strict diet due to digestive issues coming into SIBO, which diet approach did you follow during your treatment? A low fermentation or low fodmap approach or something else?
- What other supplements should I consider taking in addition to the prebiotic+probiotic formula after I am done with 7 days of rifaximin?
- Should I get tested for something else besides SIBO? I checked h. pylori and that came out negative and I have done a thorough blood test and only things out of range where zinc (higher than range), vitamin D3 (insufficiency) and AST enzyme (a bit higher than range) so I think these are not the primary reasons of my SIBO but I will try to improve them anyway.
- For people that have had to do several rounds of antibiotics, how do you determine if you need another intervention? You test for SIBO after say 6+ months and if it comes out positive again you do the process another time?
- For folks that have put SIBO into remission, what other advise or tools have helped you the most to get to that point? Also, are you able to eat a more varied diet now or it is still a low fermentation, low fodmap or some sort of restricted diet?
Sorry if these are a lot of questions, I am trying to mentally prepare for the tough task that is coming. Thanks to anyone that reads this and gives their input. I'll create more posts in the future with updates as things go forward. EDIT: I forgot to add that I will be working with a naturopath/functional medicine doctor as well during this process so I can get a more detailed prescription and diagnosis than what my GP has said. This doctor has quite a bit of experience with gut disorders and SIBO I believe so it should help for sure but I'm interested in having as many inputs as possible. Thanks again submitted by Same_Ad_4158 to SIBO [link] [comments] |
2023.03.21 18:05 MDRNwealth Medicare Basics
Hey Everyone,
I wanted to provide a very brief summary on the basics of Medicare and some FAQs I get as a Financial Planner. Again, I want to stress this is a
high level overview for those of you in here who are perhaps thinking about Retirement, but unfamiliar with the basics of Medicare.
Here are the basic components of Medicare:
- Part A is hospital coverage
- Part B is outpatient coverage
- Part C is "Medicare Advantage”
- Part D is prescription drug coverage
- Supplemental Insurance AKA "Medigap"
Part A and B are 2 components that everyone has. This is commonly referred to as Traditional Medicare.
Part C, Medicare Advantage, is likely the one you see commercials about during day time TV. Usually they have an old school celebrity or athlete as a spokesperson. One reason for this is that Medicare Advantage is actually
NOT a Government Administered program unlike Traditional Medicare. Medicare Advantage is run through private companies. These companies are paid by the Government when someone enrolls in their Medicare Advantage program (it's one reason why you see statements such as getting money back everyone month from enrolling). While you still will have Part A and B, most of your benefits will be covered by the advantage plan. Advantage Plans can offer additional benefits such as Dental, Vision and more.
Supplemental Insurance (Medigap) is optional insurance that you can pay for to supplement your A & B coverage. A common misconception is that A&B covers all your medical bills and this is false. Medigap can fill the void to limit your out of pocket for various medical services.
Part D provides coverage for prescription Drug costs, this part of Medicare is optional.
Income Related Monthly Adjustment Amounts (IRMAA) For 2023, the monthly Medicare Part B Base premium amount is $164.90. If you opt for Part D coverage, you'll also pay an additional premium for your part D coverage. Depending on your Modified Adjusted Gross Income from 2 years prior, you may have to pay additional premium surcharges. These surcharges are known as
IRMAA. Below is a Table that breaks down the IRMAA surcharges
What You PayWhat You PayWhat Your 2021 Income WasWhat Your 2021 Income WasPart B PremiumPart D SurchargeSingleMarried Couple$164.90$97,000 or less$194,000$230.80$12.20$97,001 - $123,000$194,001 - $246,000$329.70$31.50$123,001 - $153,000$246,001 - $306,000$428.60$50.70$153,001 - $183,000$306,001 - $366,000$527.50$70.00$183,001 - $500,000$366,001 - $750,000$560.50$76.40Above $500,000Above $750,000
FAQs Which is better, Medigap or Medicare Advantage? A common dilemma many retirees face is whether to pick a Medigap plan or Medicare Advantage. Medigap, generally has higher monthly premiums associated with it, however you generally have a lot more flexibility in terms of choosing doctors and services. Medicare Advantage, while typically cheaper is more of an HMO structure. If you have ever experienced having HMO insurance, you know it can feel restrictive. From experience, some retirees really don't mind it and like the lower monthly costs. Others would rather pay a little more for more flexibility. As a Financial Planner, when I am doing a financial plan, I always assume a medigap plan will be used unless the client states otherwise.
Does Medicare Cover Long Term Care Costs? Medicare does not cover long term care costs. If you want long term care coverage, you will need to either pay for a separate long term care policy or self insure.
What if I have IRMAA surcharges but my income is lower now? There are 8 qualifying life changing events which you can find here:
https://www.ssa.gov/forms/ssa-44.pdf . For example if you were working in 2021 with elevated income but have since retired, and have seen a reduction in income, you can file out form SSA - 44 to request that your IRMAA be reduced based on your current income level.
Should I do Roth Conversions or Draw from my Pre-Tax Retirement Accounts if it will incur IRMAA surcharges? Unfortunately, the answer to this is it depends. For example, when I do a retirement plan for a client, we'll factor in IRMAA surcharges if we deploy a multi year Roth Conversion strategy or opt to delay Social Security and draw from our tax-deferred retirement accounts instead. Based on the analysis it may completely make sense to bite the bullet on IRMAA surcharges, in exchange for reduced RMDs in the future and/or a higher social security benefit. However, everyone's situation will be different. What I will say is that as a CFP, I see far too many retirees let the IRMAA tail, wag the dog. Yes, it is important to keep in mind, but I would encourage you to not write off a particular tax or income strategy purely for the sake of IRMAA.

2023.03.21 17:11 StoneGuardTheGray A Small Cantrip for Appraisal
I'm currently working on prep for a home game, and I've been trying to give my players some extra
spimce for putting up with all my weird rulings and requirements for character creation. One of my players is a conman/thief type with Magic Initiate, so I thought a divination cantrip that helps him ascertain the value of items might be neat (think Identify for non-magical info).
I also wanted to create it as a tool for NPCs to check if certain emblems or non-magical items are forgeries or not. It's a bit looser than I'd like, requiring a good bit of DM interpolation, and it may also be prone to constant casting of any little thing depending on what type of player gets it, but I think it's solid enough.
Appraise Divination Cantrip Casting Time: 1 minute
Range: Touch
Components: S, M (a monocle, eyeloupe, or piece of magnifying Glass worth at least 50 gp)
Duration: Instantaneous
You look beyond the surface of a crafted object to better determine its value. Make an ability check using your spellcasting ability. Different DCs are for different pieces of information. Making a higher DC will tell you that information and all information of lower DCs.
- DC 5: You learn the approximate age of the item since the creator considered it complete, and whether or not it is still complete.
- DC 10: You learn the basic composition of the item as well as the gp value of the raw materials, provided you are already familiar with the materials used.
- DC 15: You learn the creature type of the creator as well as the basic non-magical function of the item.
- DC 20: At the DM's discretion, they may reveal additional information about the nature of its creation, purpose, or creator. This may include knowledge of a previous item that the materials were once used for, alignment of the creator, etc.
Once you cast this spell on an object, you cannot cast this spell on the same object for the next 14 days.
At Higher Levels: at 5th level, the lowest result you can get on the check is 5. At 11th level, the lowest you can get is 10. At 17th level, the lowest you can get is 15.
**EDIT** After giving it a bit more thought, I'd probably also consider making a ruling where a spell like Nystul's Magic Aura would be able to fool this cantrip completely, allowing for some counterplay on the side of forgers

2023.03.21 17:11 MDRNwealth Medicare Basics
What You Pay What Your 2021 Income Was Part B Premium | Part D Surcharge | Single | Married Couple |
$164.90 | | $97,000 or less | $194,000 |
$230.80 | $12.20 | $97,001 - $123,000 | $194,001 - $246,000 |
$329.70 | $31.50 | $123,001 - $153,000 | $246,001 - $306,000 |
$428.60 | $50.70 | $153,001 - $183,000 | $306,001 - $366,000 |
$527.50 | $70.00 | $183,001 - $500,000 | $366,001 - $750,000 |
$560.50 | $76.40 | Above $500,000 | Above $750,000 |
FAQs
Which is better, Medigap or Medicare Advantage?
There are 8 qualifying life changing events which you can find here:
https://www.ssa.gov/forms/ssa-44.pdf.

(Formerly Blackwolf Copper and Gold Inc.), Blackwolf Copper and Gold (TSXV: BWCG, OTC: BWCGF), Coast Copper Corp Dolly Varden Silver (TSXV: DV, OTC: DOLLF), and New Moly LLC (collectively, the “ Companies ”) to jointly study the viability of using New Moly’s Kitsault Project (“ Kitsault ” or the “ Project ”) as the potential site for a centralized polymetallic processing facility that could accept mineralized material from the Companies’ respective deposits and/or new discoveries (“ Kitsault Polymetallic Mill ”), located nearby on tidewater in northwestern, B.C. and/or southeastern, Alaska (See Figure 1. below). Prior to signing the initial MOU, Blackwolf Copper and Gold undertook initial discussions with Nis g a’a Lisims Government regarding potential amendments to the Mines Act Permits for Kitsault to support a polymetallic mill. *“Nis g a’a Lisims Government has had initial discussions with Blackwolf Copper and Gold on the concept of a hub and spoke mill at the site of the Kitsault Project. We look forward to further consultation on this and other natural resource opportunities within the Nass Area which is subject to the Nisga’a Final Agreement where we have constitutionally protected title and rights”* said Charles Morven, Secretary-Treasurer for Nis g a’a Lisims Government . “ We look forward to working with this collaboration of Companies to study the potential synergies that include reduced respective capital, processing costs as well as reduce permitting timelines and risks by using a permitted site located on tidewater ,” said Roger Rosmus, Founder & CEO. “ With the Surebet’s Au-Ag-Cu-Pb-Zn discovery that has two barge access points located on tidewater and marine bulk transport being reasonably cost effective. We believe that the Kitsault site could potentially be an excellent fit for Goliath to unlock additional shareholder value.” The proposed site at Kitsault previously hosted a molybdenum mine. Within the past decade, Kitsault received Canadian Federal and Provincial Permits and given the buoyant molybdenum market, New Moly is now considering funding requirements to restart a larger scale project. The Project is located on the BC Hydro grid, has road access to the Nass Valley and tidewater access. The Kitsault Polymetallic Mill concept may assist to enhance and de-risk the potential restart of Kitsault. The Companies have engaged Fuse Advisors Inc. (“Fuse Advisors”) to complete an initial assessment of the technical viability of the Kitsault Polymetallic Mill concept and will jointly share the costs of this study. By reviewing the respective metallurgical test work completed at the various deposits, Fuse will assess the potential for blending or batching mineralized material, potential process flow-sheets, potential throughputs from the various deposits and associated mill sizing and timelines. Figure 1. below - Location of Kitsault, Goliath Resources, Dolly Varden, Blackwolf Copper and Gold and Coast Copper projects. Figure 1 is available at https://www.globenewswire.com/NewsRoom/AttachmentNg/b7dfc752-6873-40d7-b2d2-13f25cd9a080 NEW MOLY KITSAULT MINE The Kitsault Mine Project is one of the largest and highest-grade primary molybdenum deposits in the world. The Project is owned by Avanti Kitsault Mine Ltd. (“ AKML ”), in which New Moly has a 100% interest. The Kitsault Mine is located in northwestern British Columbia within the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine, approximately 140km northeast of Prince Rupert and south of the terminus of Alice Arm, an inlet of the Pacific Ocean (See Figure 2 below). The Kitsault Mine is a brownfield site with considerable past mining activity and basic infrastructure in place. From as early as 1968, and intermittently until 1982, the mine produced approximately 30 million pounds of molybdenum from open-pit mining. Rehabilitation of the 1981 – 1982 mining program was started under an approved reclamation program in the mid-1990s and was completed in 2006. AKML completed the purchase of an undivided, 100 percent (%) direct interest in the Kitsault Mine (molybdenum mine and surrounding mineral tenures) from Aluminerie in October 2008. Under AKML, permits have been well advanced with key provincial and federal permits in place for development of an estimated mine life of 15 years with an ore production rate of 16.2 Mt/year. Kitsault’s development would include construction of a process plant, upgrade of the existing powerline, expansion of the existing open pit, construction of a low-grade ore stockpile, waste rock management facility, and a tailings management facility with associated water management ponds. In 2014, AKML entered into a Cooperation and Benefits Agreement (“CBA”) and an Environmental Agreement with the Nis g a’a Nation. This agreement recognizes and formalizes the working relationships between the Nis g a’a Nation and AKML and is a vital step in the development of Kitsault Mine. New Moly also owns 80% of the Mt. Hope molybdenum project in Nevada, one of the largest permitted primary molybdenum projects in the world with more than a billion pounds of molybdenum and a proposed mine life of more than 40 years. Figure 2. Figure 2 is available at https://www.globenewswire.com/NewsRoom/AttachmentNg/fe8b2de2-cefb-469c-be56-5161df3ac95b NIBLACK Blackwolf Copper and Gold’s Niblack Project hosts multiple Cu-Au-Zn-Ag deposits and prospects, located next to tidewater on Prince of Wales Island in southeast Alaska. Current Mineral Resources 1 include 5,851,000 tonnes averaging 0.94% Cu, 1.83 g/t Au, 1.73% Zn and 29.0 g/t Ag in the Indicated Category and 214,000 tonnes averaging 0.93% Cu, 1.52 g/t Au, 1.38% Zn and 18.0 g/t Ag in the additional Inferred Category. Primarily hosted in the Lookout Zone, the Mineral Resources have excellent metallurgical recoveries within a wide mineralized zone, up to 120 meters in true width and is accessed with a production-size underground ramp. Mineralization is wide open for expansion in most areas, and numerous prospects have only received limited drill testing. - Refer to the NI43-101 compliant Mineral Resource Estimation – Niblack Polymetallic Sulphide Project Updated see News Release Dated February 16, 2023, by Dr. Gilles Arsenault, P.Geo,of Arsenault Consulting Services, a Qualified Person Independent of the Company. The Resource uses a US$100 cut-off Net Smelter Return (NSR) and uses long-term metal forecasts: gold US$1,650/oz, silver US$20.00/oz, copper US$3.50/lb, and zinc US$1.10/lb; Recoveries (used for all NSR calculations) to Cu concentrate of 94.3% Cu, 72% Au, 90.2% Zn and 76% Ag. Detailed engineering studies will determine the best cutoff.
COAST COPPER Coast Copper’s exploration focus is the optioned Empire Mine property, located on northern Vancouver Island, British Columbia, which covers three historical open pit mines and two past-producing underground mines that yielded iron, copper, gold and silver. Coast Copper’s other properties include its 100% owned Knob Hill NW Property located on northern Vancouver Island, its Home Brew and Shovelnose South Properties in central B.C., and its Scottie West Property located in the “Golden Triangle” of northern B.C. DOLLY VARDEN/HOMESTAKE RIDGE T he contiguous Dolly Varden and Homestake Ridge projects, owned 100% by Dolly Varden Silver, make up a 163 sq. km. land package that is accessible to tidewater at the end of Alice Arm, just across the inlet from the Kitsault site, via a 28km historic mine road. Mineralization in the area consists of silver and gold systems in several areas, often with significant zinc and copper values. The Dolly Varden and Torbrit deposits have seen combined historic production of approximately 20 million oz Ag and have demonstrated good metallurgical recoveries. The property remains prospective for the discovery of additional deposits along a 15 kilometer trend of favorable host rocks and alteration. GOLIATH RESOURCES/SUREBET ZONE Goliath controls 100% of the Golddigger property that covers an area of 59,089 hectares, located on tidewater northwest of the Kitsault site and west of Dolly Varden Silver’s Kitsault Valley Project. The Company has discovered a new, high-grade polymetallic gold-silver shear zone, the “Surebet Zone” on the property that has been confirmed over a 1.6 square kilometer area averaging 6.31 g/t AuEq (4.45 g/t Au & 110 g/t Ag) over 6.88 meters* wide. Mineralization within the Surebet Zone consists of structurally controlled massive, semi-massive, and disseminated sulphides containing Galena, Sphalerite, Pyrrhotite and Pyrite. These lenses occur within broad alteration halos of silica flooded sediments which also contain polymetallic mineralization up to 43.5 meters wide. The initial metallurgy shows exceptional results of 92.2% Gold recovery using traditional gravity and flotation processes; inclusive of 48.8% free gold from simple gravity at a 327 micron crush. QUALIFIED PERSONS: Andrew Hamilton, P.Geo., a Qualified Person and Rein Turna P. Geo a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101 has reviewed and approved, the technical information in this release. For more information please contact: Goliath Resources Limited Mr. Roger Rosmus Founder and CEO Tel: +1-416-488-2887 [email protected] www.goliathresourcesltd.com \Goliath widths are reported in drill core lengths and the true widths are approximately 80-90% and AuEq metal values are calculated using: Au 1644.08 USD/oz, Ag 19.23 USD/oz, Cu 3.47 USD/lbs, Pb 1870.50 USD/ton and Zn 2882.50 USD/ton on October 28, 2022. There is potential for economic recovery of gold, silver, copper, lead, and zinc from these occurrences based on other mining and exploration projects in the same Golden Triangle Mining Camp where Goliath’s project is located such as the Homestake Ridge Gold Project (Auryn Resources Technical Report), Updated Mineral Resource Estimate and Preliminary Economic Assessment on the Homestake Ridge Gold Project, prepared by Minefill Services Inc. (Bothell, Washington), dated May 29, 2020. Here, AuEq values were calculated using 3-year running averages for metal price, and included provisions for metallurgical recoveries, treatment charges, refining costs, and transportation. Recoveries for Gold were 85.5%, Silver at 74.6%, Copper at 74.6% and Lead at 45.3%. It will be assumed that Zinc can be recovered with the Copper at the same recovery rate of 74.6%. The quoted reference of metallurgical recoveries is not from Goliath’s Golddigger Project, Surebet Zone mineralization, and there is no guarantee that such recoveries will ever be achieved, unless detailed metallurgical work such as in a Feasibility Study can be eventually completed on the Golddigger Project.
