2023.03.31 17:48 ourpseudonym US Banks Have $620 Billion of Unrealized Losses on Their Books, Most banks are strong enough to withstand the paper losses. Still, their finances could be squeezed for years to come.
From bloomberg, there is excellent graphics in the article I would recommend viewing:
https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/2023-svb-exposed-risks-banks/?srnd=premium#xj4y7vzkg The investment losses that helped take down Silicon Valley Bank are a problem, to one degree or another, across the US financial system. In total, the industry ended last year with $620 billion of unrealized losses on its books from investments in low-yielding bonds.
For most banks, the issue is manageable.
Bonds held in investment books represented less than a quarter of the banking system’s $23.6 trillion of assets in December, and unlike SVB, lenders usually have a wide array of depositors who are unlikely to all need money around the same time. For the biggest banks, the risks are even smaller. They are perceived as too big to fail. What’s more, the recent rally in the Treasury bond market — sparked, ironically, by the jitters about the health of the banking industry — is helping to shrink the $620 billion of paper losses. (In the coming weeks, banks will start to post first-quarter data.) Banks’ Equity Could Take Hit If Paper Losses Had to Be Realized For most banks, unrealized losses are a manageable problem. But investors and depositors remain jittery about lenders sitting on huge piles of money-losing bonds
And yet as depositors keep gradually withdrawing their money and shifting it into money market funds and other investments, banks are facing a squeeze. They’re being pressed to pay more for funding while their revenue is limited by the investments they made in low-yielding bonds during the pandemic. That in turn could curb their ability to lend to consumers and businesses, slowing the economy.
“They’re paying more for deposits, and their earnings on bonds are fixed,” said Stan August, a retired bank examiner for the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond and a former bond analyst at Bank of America. “That’s where the squeeze is.”
When the pandemic hit, and the Federal Reserve pushed down rates once again by pumping unprecedented amounts of cash into the economy, many banks loaded up on long-term government and mortgage-backed bonds. There were some Treasury notes that promised to pay annual interest of just 0.6% over 10 years.
Then inflation surged and the Fed started urgently driving up interest rates. The value of those bonds plunged, because who would want to buy an old bond paying 0.6% interest when new ones were suddenly paying more than 3%?
Losses on bonds are a risk whenever rates go up, but banks’ holdings were bigger than usual in 2022. All that cash the Fed and the government pushed into the economy quickly found its way into the banking system, giving lenders trillions of dollars to invest. SVB’s domestic deposits, for instance, rose more than 150% from the end of March 2020 through the end of 2022.
Rising deposits on their own don’t necessarily represent a problem for banks. For SVB, they spelled trouble in part because its clients tended to keep large balances at the bank as a condition for receiving services like lines of credit.
That translated to a high percentage of customers’ deposits being bigger than US deposit insurance limits. Clients with high balances at a bank are often skittish about the safety of their funds. and more likely to withdraw money fast at signs of trouble.
There were at least three data points for SVB that worried depositors: the speed at which the bank’s deposits had grown, the high percentage of uninsured deposits it had, and the magnitude of losses relative to its equity. These factors helped create a perfect storm.
But even for banks that dodge the storm, bond losses are a problem. A large part of banks’ investment portfolios use an accounting method called “held to maturity” that ensures the firms don’t have to record any losses, or any hits to their balance sheets, from the declining value of their bonds. But they also have to hold onto the bonds until they mature. Banks Locked Up Trillions in Long-Term Investments Total holdings, at amortized cost, in held-to-maturity securities for banks with at least $25 billion in assets as of Q4 2022
As banks’ deposits started to grow during the pandemic, they initially plowed more money into bonds using a method of accounting called “available for sale.” For these securities, changes in the value of the bonds would affect their balance sheets but not their income statements. That accounting method can force banks to boost their capital levels, though, if their losses get too high.
In 2021, a growing group of banks believed the Fed would soon begin raising interest rates and began switching to counting more of their bonds as held-to-maturity. The biggest banks added about $1.7 trillion of the bonds to their books over the two years ended in December. In some cases, they switched bonds over from one accounting treatment to the other. In other cases, they just stopped buying new available-for-sale securities and only added to their held-to-maturity books.
Initially it worked pretty well. Profits ballooned. The US banking system’s return on equity, a measure of profitability, averaged 12.2% in 2021, the highest since 2006.
But now that inflation and rate hikes have come, banks have suddenly been finding themselves pressured from two sides. Higher interest rates forced banks to pay more money to win deposits, with average one-year CD rates rising to about 2.7% by March, according to DepositAccounts, from 0.35% in May 2022. Consumers and companies have been taking more of their money out of banks and investing it in assets like government bonds. Deposits in commercial banks fell last year for the first time since 1948, according to the FDIC. The worst pain here is for community and regional banks, which lost $109 billion of deposits in the week ended March 15, while the biggest banks have been luring funds.
Meanwhile, the value of banks’ bond holdings plunged on paper too. The $620 billion of unrealized losses in the system at the end of 2022 were for available-for-sale and held-to-maturity securities.
The combination of surging interest rates, high investment losses and heavy deposit outflows is new for most investors and executives in the banking industry. To many, this feels like uncharted territory.
“I have covered this industry for 20 years plus and I have never seen anything like this,” said Ania Aldrich, an investment principal at Cambiar Investors. “In all the stress testing we have done for at least the largest banks have never stressed for anything like this.”
Comments from banks
Charles Schwab Bank & Charles Schwab Premier Bank
“Focusing attention on ‘unrealized losses’ in our held-to-maturity (HTM) portfolio is very misleading. These ‘paper losses’ are unrealized and would only be realized if we had to sell those securities. The profile of our depositors is very different from regional banks. Given our significant access to sources of liquidity, there is a near-zero chance we’d need to sell any of our HTM portfolio prior to maturity. That would be akin to assuming a large retail bank would sell a substantial portion of its loan portfolio... Client deposits may move, but they are not leaving the firm. As is the case in every cycle, clients make choices about where to best allocate their assets. As interest rates have increased over the last year, our clients have made choices to reallocate assets within their Schwab portfolios, to reflect their preferences in this market. And in fact, we have actively encouraged them to do so. The important point is that those allocation decisions result in the assets staying at Schwab. Despite the events of the last two weeks, we have not seen any meaningful change in client behavior regarding their cash… Comparing unrealized losses across firms with different business models can be misleading. Schwab Bank has a different business model than traditional banks. Our deposits come from transactional cash in clients’ brokerage accounts that is swept to our banks. We use about 10% of that cash to fund loans to our existing clients and with the remaining 90%, we buy securities – the vast majority of which are backed by the U.S. Government. With rates moving up, the fair value of all fixed rate assets — loans or securities — has gone down. But given that our securities are very high quality, we fully expect our securities to reach par at maturity, which means the unrealized ‘paper’ losses will decrease over time. Because a much higher percentage of our assets are securities — and traditional bank loans are not disclosed the same way — our paper losses may appear larger than those of traditional banks. But that assessment lacks the appropriate context. In reality, our portfolio has less credit risk and is actually less sensitive to changes in interest rates than many large banks,” Co-Chairmen Charles Schwab and Walt Bettinger said in a statement.
First National Bank of Pennsylvania
“Due to FNB’s conservative balance sheet and interest rate risk management leading into this higher rate environment, the duration and fair value marks of our AFS and HTM portfolios were more favorable than others in the industry. Even after fully incorporating these marks into our Common Equity Tier 1 Ratio, we would remain well capitalized. In addition, FNB has a stable and granular deposit base and maintains a strong liquidity position with uninsured deposits excluding fully collateralized balances at only 27% and has available funding sources in excess of those balances,” CEO Vincent J. Delie, Jr. said in a statement.
Prosperity Bank
“Prosperity Bank has a fortress balance sheet that is well suited for times like this. In fact, we were a source of strength in the 80’s and 2008, participating in six FDIC assisted transactions. We are a traditional community bank with a diverse loan portfolio and a granular deposit base amongst the many communities that we are in. We have close to 800,000 deposit accounts with an average balance of $36,000, our uninsured and uncollateralized deposits only make up 32% of our total deposits, we have access to large amounts of liquidity, and we are extremely well capitalized. We maintain higher tangible common equity ratios than many of the large money center banks and remain well capitalized even if you include any unrealized losses in the held-to-maturity portfolio. It has been our pleasure to serve the communities we are in and help our customers navigate and understand all that is happening in the banking markets,’’ Cullen Zalman, senior vice president for banking and corporate activities at Prosperity Bank, said in a statement.
USAA Federal Savings Bank
“USAA is a fundamentally different bank than those that have struggled over the past few weeks. Our bank is consumer based, 93% of deposits are within the applicable FDIC insurance limits, and we have access to substantial liquidity to serve the needs of our members. USAA FSB also goes through rigorous stress testing to help us best support our members. Focusing on any single asset class is misguided, given additional ways to evaluate bank balance sheets, like net interest trends, which highlight the efficiencies or inefficiencies across a bank’s entire balance sheet. The degree of changes in USAA’s unrealized bond holdings is a reflection of a relatively low loan-to-deposit ratio, which means investments are a larger part of our balance sheet and accounting value fluctuations are more noticeable. But not all banks and not all investment portfolios are the same. Unrealized bond losses do not create excess risk in institutions with a stable base of customers, a strong capital position, the ability to hold such bonds to maturity and access to the liquidity necessary to meet their depositors’ and borrowers’ needs.” First-Citizens Bank & Trust Co.
“First Citizens is a well-capitalized bank, and our post-acquisition capital ratios remain within or above our target ranges. In addition, the transaction is structured to maintain our position of strength with ample liquidity and credit loss protections. Our liquidity remains strong and stable driven by conservatively managed investment portfolio, and it is enhanced by this transaction.” First-Citizens Bank & Trust Co. acquired Silicon Valley Bank from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., though the sale did not include $90 billion in securities and other assets. Huntington National Bank
“Per the company’s 10K, 68% of deposits at Huntington are insured / 32% are uninsured as of December 31, 2022. This is the lowest % of uninsured deposits among all US based publicly traded banks with $50bn+ in deposits (excluding those classified primarily as card issuers). Huntington has an active hedging program for securities, and total FV marks net of hedges for all securities are in line with peers.”
Northern Trust Co.
“Northern Trust is a global provider of wealth management, asset servicing, asset management and banking to corporations, institutions, and individuals. Northern Trust has offices in the United States as well as 23 locations in Canada, Europe, the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region… Our clients leave large amounts of deposits with us not because we offer higher rates, but because they have significant payment activity. Over 60% of our institutional deposits are considered operational by regulatory standards… Northern Trust’s business model focuses on two core markets: institutions and wealthy individuals/families. These have been our historic strengths for generations. Retail banking represents a small percentage of our client base and an even smaller percentage of our assets on deposit, which in part accounts for the low percentage of insured deposits when compared with other banks that have significantly larger retail portfolios. Northern Trust is a Category II institution under the Federal Reserve’s regulatory framework. As a result, we are the only non G-SIB required to do daily liquidity testing and report unrealized losses in regulatory capital reporting. We consistently are assigned the highest long-term credit rating of any comparable U.S. institution. Northern Trust maintains a high-quality securities portfolio. Highly liquid assets constitute 62% of total client deposits as of Dec. 31, 2022. 81% of Northern Trust’s securities portfolio is composed of U.S. Treasury, government sponsored agency and triple-A rated securities. Regarding unrealized, mark-to-market HTM investment security losses as a percentage of tangible equity, it is important to note that our balance sheet composition has a lower proportion of loans, and thus our investment securities portfolio will be larger on both an absolute and percentage basis than banks with similar asset sizes.”

2023.03.31 17:44 ArisNightgale Messed up Relationship with a Happy Ending.
LONG POST I use to be with a man we will call John for 5/6 years, maybe a few years longer. Its hard to remember due to all the mental abuse. He was selfish, a cheater, narcissistic and mentally abusive but I thought so much of him. I loved him. I ended up pregnant at 18 years old and didn't know it due to the stress of my job and me thinking the stress stopped my period. I ended up having a miscarriage at 6 weeks along. He dumped me right after. Why? Because he got some sick satisfaction in watching me cry and beg for him not to leave. A few years I ended up pregnant again in late 2013 and was due in 2014 and was happy. When I was around 20 weeks along, he wanted to take me 4+ hours away on a greyhound bus to get a back alley "procedure" done. He said that they said the cut off date for doing it would be 23 weeks so I lied about how far I was to him. While I was pregnant, John cheated on me so many times. I couldn't even count at this point. A few months after I had our child, I ended up in the hospital awaiting for surgery and he was there with me, texting his ex. I knew. I knew everything that was going on but I stayed because he had me tied around his fingers. He kicked me out not long after to have another girl move into MY apartment that I paid for. I ended up moving back to my apartment after she left and nothing had changed. John knew that he could do whatever he wanted and I wouldn't fight back. Fast-forward to 2016, my mom ended up with 2 kinds of cancer. A month later she was pronounced brain dead due to a clot. I missed work to be in the hospital with her. John was furious with me. My mom wasn't coming back and since I had enough in savings and was the bread winner in the house, I didn't care about missing a few days. After I had to make the call to pull the plug (which is an entirely different story), I was numb. Losing my mom made me look at my situation. I stopped loving him. I was done. I became distant. John asked my best friend what was going on with me (they worked together but never hit on her... she would have told me since she hated him) and she told him, "her mom just died and you tried to force her to go into work instead of being with the people she needed support from. Think about it dude..." He tried to win me back but I was interested in someone else. He tried to bribe with with something that was worth $30. Old me would have fallen for it. But new me realized what was going on. I called him out on it and he admitted it. He moved out and our child was with me. His game of manipulation had come to end. I was free. Im still mentally damaged but have been working on it with my husband of 4 years. And my husband has taken up the father role to my 9 year old. John hasnt seen my child in 6 years, no calls or texts. We finally know what real love is. Its not a game.
TLDR; Ex played with my mind and emotions. He always cheated me me. Got pregnant, he wanted me to abort. I lied about timeline. Lost mom a few years later, he was mad I wouldnt work. He tried to bribe me to stay when I was done with him. Found a new man. He isnt in kids life but husband is childs dad now.

2023.03.31 17:18 Sufficient-Engine514 I'm 34, make 210k a year, and just started paying down 170k of student loan debt while paying for fertility treatments.
Background
Me: 34F
Jobs: Consultant
Location: East Coast
Goal: Finding the balance between paying off my six-figure student debt while still enjoying life post failed fertility treatments.
Current Debt and Assets
DEBT
Credit card debt: $2,200 approximately. I usually never go more than 2 months without paying it off completely to keep me honest.
Personal loans: $0
Medical debt: $0
Student loan debt: $125,303.17 with 3.301% interest. I had a scholarship to undergrad. For my graduate degree, I took out 150k of loans. In the 4 years after graduate school where I was paying the minimum payment, the loan amount grew to $171,000. I paid off approximately 57k in the past 18 months (although because interest is so high, only 46k of that went to principal.)
Auto loans: $0 – My husband and I have had a ton of bad luck the past few years but one thing we were fortunate about is buying two used cars around 22k each right before the new and used car market went crazy. We paid them both off within 3-4 months of purchasing them. I used to think I would just lease a car because I had this idea that all used cars break down constantly but I’m glad my husband disabused me of notion because with some TLC, my car should last me a long time and with all the spending on gas and tolls, I am so thankful to not have a car payment.
Savings balance: $1,000. My husband and I used to have a very large savings/rainy day fund (30k-ish) but we’ve spent the past 3 years going through fertility treatments that have really eaten away at our savings. This amount of savings is pretty antithetical to how judicious we both are about money but we both have good job security and could cash out our investment accounts with penalty if we really needed it so we haven’t prioritizied replenishing it. That, and we are very emotionally spent after the past few years.
Checking account balance: $460.55
Crypto portfolio: $0. I don’t have the risk tolerance for this.
House: Bought for $580,000, now worth ~$700,000. Still owe around 545k.
Assets:
401K: ~$140,000. I max out my contribution to my 401k. I did not start contributing to this until I was 27 but all my past employers have had generous matches which has helped.
ROTH IRA: ~$11,000. My husband and I have a joint ROTH IRA that we’ve maxed out every year for past 4-5 years. All our accounts have taken a beating this year, not unlike everyone else, so these numbers used to be much higher. Keep reminding myself to play the long game!
Brokerage Account $6,000. I’d like to be more aggressive with this but we’re doing our best at the moment.
Income
I am currently working full-time as a tech consultant. I’ve only been here a year, but I love the work and the benefits are generous. The job is very stressful and a bit hectic sometimes but it’s hard to imagine I’ll get everything I have at this job elsewhere, so I plan to stay awhile a while.
Main Job Monthly Take Home: ~$4,825 2x/month
Other Income: I sometimes do other work with modest honorariums that probably only bring in around $2k a year. This year is an outlier thought and I will get almost $9k.
Total Income: ~$4,825. I don’t account for other income into my budget and whatever I get just gets chucked towards student loans.
Monthly Expenses
Rent: $1550 (Half of my mortgage. My husband has VA Loan so we didn’t need a down payment for the house, just closing costs, which is why our mortgage may seem a little high. We also live in a HCOL area so this probably seems high but this is not far off from what we paid for rent living in the city, so this wasn’t a hard jump for us financially.
Debt payments: Anywhere from $1700 (the minimum) to $4000, depending on the month.
Utility Bills: ~$200 (I pay)
Cellphone + Internet: $150 (Husband pays)
Subscriptions: $150 (Husband pays)
Car Insurance: $100 (Covers both of us, husband pays)
Dining Out: $150-250. We very rarely go out to eat especially in the past few years because of pandemic and IVF but we’re trying to get in the habit of doing so once a month to enjoy ourselves. We're more likely to order in with UberEats or something. My husband usually pays even though it goes on our joint CC, he usually pays it off.
Shopping: Wildly fluctuates but anywhere from 500 to nothing. The older I’ve gotten the easier it is for me to avoid impulse buys.
Groceries: $1200-1500 – I pay for all groceries and house toiletries like soap, toothpaste, medicine, etc. One of the things we splurge on is high quality meats, organic fruits and vegetables, blah blah blah etc. This lifestyle change hasn’t made any difference in our IVF success unfortunately but we both couldn’t deny how great we felt eating that way, so we continue to do so despite me sometimes wincing at the cumulative cost. I make almost double what my husband does, so I take over a slightly higher percentage of our monthly bills but not by much because we both agreed I should prioritize paying down my student loans. He also covers dog food, treats, and medicine for both our dogs which really adds up and those more random, quarterly house expenses like Home Depot visits, pest control, buying a new mower, lawn care, and other things that come up more than you think (Home owners know the struggle). Once my debt is paid down, we will probably revisit the split of monthly expenses to see what makes sense.
Cleaning: $165/month (I pay) Having a house cleaner is one of those luxuries I would never give up. I’d rather cut back on dining out, shopping, etc if someone could come once a month to clean. We also have two big dogs, so it feels less of a luxury and more of a necessity.
Pet Insurance $80/month, covers both dogs (I pay)
Gas: $300 (I have a long commute and I go into the office almost every day)
Tolls: $225
Parking: $0 Work covers this, thank goodness!
Health Insurance: $0. My work covers health insurance for me and my husband. Huge bonus I don’t take for granted.
Total Expenses: I’ve estimated it is roughly around $6,500 a month at least for my portion of bills, assuming I’ve only paid the minimum of my student loans.
Debt Diary
2006 – Started college at a public university where I got free tuition from a combination of my mom’s job and my good grades. We still owed room and board which my parents covered for the most part and then took out loans to cover the rest when they divorced. My stepdad paid off the remaining balance of around 8k for me in my mid-twenties.
2010 – Graduated and moved to abroad for four years. Got great experience but pay was very low so no savings and no financial planning at all.
2014: Started my graduate degree back in the U.S.. Took out *all* the loans for this to include living expenses (150k). During this time I wanted to be a public servant so I felt confident my loans would be paid off after 10 years through Public Student Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program. That’s not exactly how it worked out.
2016: Graduated and started my first “big girl” job at 27 making around $75,000 . This is the first time I started contributing to a 401k. I was working for a 401c3 so I qualified to start paying into the PSLF program. My loan payments, based on my income at the time was around $350-400 monthly. I got modest raises over the next few years that brought me to 85k before I switched jobs. During these four years, my student loans ballooned to 170k because I was only paying the minimum.
2020: My husband and I cancel our wedding and honeymoon (covid) but still get married. Got a new job that finally got me a low six figure salary (120k) but was in the private sector so still paying minimum on student loans but no longer was making qualified payments for student loan forgiveness. Thought I might still go back into government/nonprofit world.
2021: Changed jobs – same ish salary @ 125k, still in the private sector. Start what will be many rounds of unsuccessful rounds of IVF. I think the total cost has been somewhere around 80k. My husband’s grandmother has helped us a lot which I quite literally don’t know what we would do without, but it’s still been very financially, emotionally, and mentally taxing. Wasted a lot of money on supplements and acupuncture that didn’t help.
2022: Started at the job I have now. Base started at 175,000 plus 25% bonus. In the first year I got a promotion and a 20% raise, so I now make 210,000. This is when I realize that this is the career I enjoy and will likely not go back government service in the future or at least not long enough to participate in student loan forgiveness program. I also do the math and realize if I continue to pay the minimum of income-based repayment (based on my now much higher pay) I will end up paying 3-4x the loan amount over the course of my life. I decide to privatize my loans and choose a 10 year pay off plan because I want to be somewhat aggressive about it, hence the relatively high minimum payment of $1700. Despite the good interest rate (3% ish) the principal is so high that $400 of that goes to interest. It’s why I’d like to aggressive pay it down now, if for no other reason than to get the interest payments down.
2023: I’m told after many failed rounds of IVF, I’m unable to have genetic children. We start figuring out how we will afford other ways to build our family, all of which cost in the tens of thousands. Fortunately, (?) I’ve gotten my student loans down to 125k.
Now: Between canceling our wedding, our honeymoon, living through a pandemic and years of fertility struggles and awful treatments, I am now re-thinking how aggressively I’ve been paying down debt this past year. Approaching getting pregnant and debt payment both as a sprint and not a marathon has done me no favors. I also just want my husband and I to enjoy life a little bit given all our struggles. We both work so hard, and I want to make sure we’re making time (and money) on the things that make us happy. I also realize we need to figure out how we’ll pay to expand our family which overwhelms me but I’m trying to treat this just as a second marathon, not a sprint.
Reflection
Do I regret my student loans?
Despite my six figure loans living rent free in my mind constantly, it’s hard to regret taking them because I can’t imagine how else I would have built the career I have now, which I love and am very grateful for. My career is everything I always hoped for and more although sometimes I lose sight of that in the daily grind. Grad school was so time consuming it’s also hard to imagine how I would have worked at the same time and made enough money to make a meaningful difference in my bills. And I focused a lot of time on substantive internships that would help demonstrate my ability to shifting gears into a different career which I do think paid off in more ways than one. This new career path that I’m on also opens a lot of doors for me to continue to be a higher earner so in the long run, this amount of debt, while daunting and a bit menacing, is somewhat of a first world problem. It will get paid off. My only concern is if something catastrophic happened, since my loans are private, I would still have a very high mandatory minimum payment. Again, both my husband and I have a lot of job security and could always cash out our investment accounts, heaven forbid something awful happened. I think because the past few years have been so mentally taxing, I have very little bandwidth for regret.
Impact of Infertility
It is probably also worth noting that dealing with years of infertility and infertility treatments only to be told ultimately that I’m unable to have [genetic] children has changed who I am as a person and how I see life. We spent 3 years of our life in a pandemic lockdown and then in back-to-back all-consuming aggressive fertility treatments. I feel like we lost so much time and had very little levity during those times. I still plan on being diligent about paying off my debt and investing, but I want to cut myself some slack and allow my husband and myself to live a little, travel and just spend time enjoying our lives instead of just focusing on destinations (of having children and debt pay off).
Generational Wealth
The city I live in is filled with lots of wealthy people and many a times I’ve been in conversations where people ask where you sailed in the summer and skied in the winter, like it’s a given that everyone does this (lol). Most of the people I went to grad school with had their school paid off from family (plus help with a down payment for a house and wedding costs), and it occurs to me over and over how critical a role generational wealth can play in setting someone up for an incredibly easier life. My husband and I grew up middle class (which still conferred a lot of privilege that is never lost on us) but would like to make sure we have saved money for our [eventual] kids college so they’re not saddled with debt – and thinking about other investment accounts we could open for them to start generational wealth. Without my student loan debt, I could have an additional 200k to invest which would have meaningful impact on my kid’s and kid’s kid’s life when invested correctly. I don’t dwell too much on this though, at least anymore, but rather something I consider when planning for the future. Both my husband and I are still grateful for the advantages and privilege we still did and continue to have. Oddly, getting more interested in personal finance has made me feel more neutral about money which I appreciate.
Husband’s Influence
I also have to credit a lot of good money habits to my husband who was a really great influence on me on the importance of making consciousness steps to get a better credit score, invest aggressively, etc. I was definitely living for a good time not a long time up until I met him lol. We still prioritize spending money on fun without guilt but now I enjoy the process about making sure we’re set up well for the future.
Thank you for reading. I'm feeling a bit vulnerable talking about this stuff so please be gentle with me :').

2023.03.31 17:14 mustlovedeadboys 41 [M4F] - #sandiego / San Diego (California) - equal parts Gen x and millennial - seeking a genuine connection
I’ve posted many times before and spoke to some interesting people but never “the one” and keeping up with the responses got a bit overwhelming.
Yes, my picture is the meme of the 40 something guy who never smiles. I assure you, I smile. Just not in selfies. If you do reply, please also send a picture. I feel it’s fair since I posted one.
I’m 41, single, no children and I live in San Diego. single since 2019. 5’10.5”, 189lbs. Ethnically ambiguous (Latino but people always think middle eastern) INFJ. Virgo. (I don’t put too much stock in that type of compatibility though).
What I am looking for in a potential partner:
I have few and very generic prerequisites. You should be a critical thinker. In the current climate of intentionally misleading headlines and generally biased news, I think being able to suss out what is real and what’s misleading is important.
I value intelligence. Like I don’t require a masters degree but I’d like to feel like the person I’m chatting with is somewhat smarter than me. I can’t 100% say I’m sapiosexual because I do want to be with someone I find attractive, but I’m most attracted to Intelligent people.
I really like people who generally laugh first before getting upset. People who can make a morbid joke in a bad (but not life threatening) situation. Like if you’re on a road trip to Vegas and get a flat tire. You could get really upset… or you could say “welllll I guess we’re going to be late picking up the hookers”.
In terms of introversion vs extroversion I don’t really have a preference. I get along with both. I’m an introvert who is always happy to go just about anywhere as long as you are the one dealing with the traffic and parking :)
I am generally never really bored. If I’m not pondering the nature of existence or having some sort of internal debate, I’m watching science documentaries or on Wikipedia or YouTube falling down a rabbit hole. I know a little bit about a lot of things and have an absurd amount of random but not quite useless information floating around in my head. I love deep talks. But I also love some good old fashioned low brow humor. Except dad jokes. I just can’t get into them.
I’m not religious. You could say I’m spiritual but not in a theological way. I don’t care if god exists and doubt god wound care what my thoughts were. I can’t really say I’m an atheist. I dislike extremes and absolutes. My motto is generally “I could be wrong” and it’s served me well in my times of existential crisis (which have become fewer as I’ve gotten older). I take comfort in my belief that there is no beginning or end. Time is a man made construct and nothing ever really ceases to be, it just changes. I don’t believe I will simply “stop existing” when I die. I don’t believe in heaven or hell. I think those concepts are tied to a superstitious belief in absolute good or absolute evil. And as I said, I dislike absolutes. Even in science, absolute rules are sometimes amended. I do good deeds because I feel like it’s the right thing to do, not for the promise of reward or the fear of punishment. Strangely, even though I’m undecided on the existence of “god”, I regularly look up and talk to god. I believe in its psychological importance. Looking upwards tends to improve optimism. And I am an optimist.
I dated quite a lot in my younger years. I “tried on” a lot of different types of people. I learned to get over people when they weren’t healthy. I learned that I was not the “best boyfriend you’ll ever have” as so many “nice guys” believe they are (before they date much). It’s a valuable experience to figure out you’re not offering anything literally any other person could. You learn that you need to work towards things together and give the other person what they need rather than what you like to offer. Of course there’s always a compromise.
Dating over 40 has been a mixed bag. I’m not great at making new friends or meeting people. The apps required a lot of effort for the minimal responses you get. And the pool of people in my age group was tiny.
I got married at 32 and Divorced at 38. I took the relationship seriously and cultivated the ability to cut conversations with flirtatious people short. That’s a hard habit to break. Especially since I do take the pandemic seriously and have laid low and avoided large gatherings . I made it till December of 2022 without catching Covid!
I have acclimated to things changing as I’ve aged. At first the changes bothered me (receding hairline, slower metabolism, grey hairs in my beard etc) but eventually I came to an equilibrium where I embrace and accept that we all age and change.
As such, I’m not big on plastic surgery or attempts to look younger or “fix” your physical features. I don’t think it’s good for your self esteem. And I think the longer you put off accepting aging, the harder it will be to take when the inevitable happens.
Along the way, I came to the conclusion don’t want to have kids. If you have them, that’s fine. But I’m not looking to procreate. If there was any lingering “maybe” I had, the looming threat of WW3 and a world wide pandemic murdered it.
Nothing is more attractive than confidence. I’m not saying you shouldn’t take care of yourself and always put your best foot forward but confidence is key. Believe it or not, some people like your “non standard” features. And what is the standard, really?
I have IG for photography and can’t help but notice how much everyone filters their pictures and falls prey to the “beauty standards” posted by people who do not meet those standards without heavy editing. The world is full of naturally beautiful people. And I do not see that reflected in social media. I debate deleting it daily but worry about offending the people I only connect with through it.
I am a musician of 25 years (I say that loosely). I’ve been playing guitar for quite a long time. From the moment I first plucked a string (on a broken , hand me down acoustic) I was hooked. It was like a drug. I use to just place my ear to the body and strum. Listening to the rich tone. It would give me shivers. I actually still feel that way. I feel like in some ways, music saved me. Before I found it, I was into drawing. I was quite good but it frustrated me often. Music has never really done that. You can haphazardly create beauty and if you do something wrong, it’s gone and you move on. I love all music but I tend to like things with angst and “oomph” that tend to be (but not always are) guitar driven. To put that into perspective, I love Hendrix and dislike John Mayer. Hopefully that makes sense.
I’m a decent cook. I could go on blathering about how I fell in love with it or what a huge influence Anthony Bourdain was but let’s just say I can’t be with a picky eater. Having food allergies (shellfish, peanuts) means I stare longingly and jealously at people eating the things I can’t. I want to eat adventurously but can’t. So I take great care to appreciate what I can and try what I can.
Photography… I haven’t picked up my camera in months. I actually really love photography. But sometimes you get up and go to shoot…To find the lighting during that time of day is horrible. And I’m not an early riser. So golden hour seems elusive. I love photo walks though. Casually walking and talking with a friend is great. I just don’t have anyone to do it with anymore. I like taking pictures of things rather than people. I like light and deep shadow. Sean tucker is an amazing photographer that captures what I love perfectly. I also love Harry gruyaert. I’m low key jealous of photographers who live in cities which are full of amazing architecture and color. San Diego is beautiful, but not in that way.
I play video games but don’t consider myself a gamer. Right now I’m binging on genshin impact. Before that I played (and loved) both horizon games. I generally play games that can be played with friends and tend to lose interest in anything else. Co op pve is great. PvP is not my thing.
Sports… although I’m not a sports guy, I actually am EXTREMELY into european football (soccer to us Americans). I watch every Manchester United game per season. I watch the champions league (and Europa league if Man U are in it). I dabble in all the big leagues but am most interested in the premier league. And when the World Cup comes around I really make an effort to wake up early and soak it in. There’s something beautiful about it being the worlds sport. There is no dominant race. There is no requisite body type. Short. Tall. Fast. Slow. Strong. Weak. They can ALL play the beautiful game. I love that. Generally, I root for the US first. But once they’re out I would equally root for any team that plays their hearts out.
Ok the essay is over. I think I’ve talked your ear off long enough. You got a snippet of who I am. Tell me about yourself?
I’m hoping to meet someone local or within say a 2 hr drive of San Diego but I am open to anyone who occasionally travels here. And accents are dead sexy. Especially all of the regional British ones.
If I didn’t bore your socks off, I have a ton of posts detailing my views on things. Feel free to browse. Or if you’d rather take the old fashioned approach, feel free to ask whatever you like.

Or if you’d rather take the old fashioned approach, feel free to ask whatever you like.

. (I give my reasons for choosing each one, so if one of these confuses you, make sure to read the post before raging 😂)
tl;dr 2 - I made all of this with game footage into a short HQ video here
https://youtu.be/pOd3DfXUY8E For those of you who prefer to read, here is the Video Script:

The level of detail and attention to the source material is truly impressive, making players feel like they are truly living and breathing in the world of Harry Potter. From exploring the halls of Hogwarts to venturing out into the Forbidden Forest, the game captures the essence of the Wizarding World in a way that is both nostalgic and fresh. As players progress through the game, they uncover the mystery behind Selene's crash landing and the planet's deadly secrets. The game's story is presented in a non-linear fashion, with snippets of Selene's memories and discoveries scattered throughout the levels. The story and gameplay work hand in hand to create a truly unforgettable experience. Overall, Returnal is a must-play for any fan of the roguelike genre, or anyone looking for a unique and challenging gaming experience. The gameplay has also been significantly improved from the first game, with new mechanics added that allow for even more diverse combat options. The crafting system has also been expanded, allowing players to create a variety of tools and weapons to aid them in their fight for survival. One of the most notable features of Sons of the Forest is the improved AI of the mutants. They are more intelligent and aggressive than ever before, making combat a truly challenging and thrilling experience. Overall, Sons of the Forest is a thrilling and immersive survival horror game that offers a unique twist on the genre. Its open-world gameplay, challenging enemies, and intriguing storyline make it a must-play for fans of the genre.
The fourth game on our list is Dead Space Remake, which is a sci-fi survival-horror classic completely rebuilt from the ground up by Motive Studios. The Dead Space Remake is a must-play for fans of the original and newcomers to the series, offering a deeper, more immersive experience.
The fifth game on our list is Hi-Fi Rush, which has received widespread acclaim for its innovative approach. This music game allows players to create music in real-time with others, rather than being limited to pre-made tracks. Players must hit the right notes at the right time to pull off flashy Beat Hits, hard-hitting special abilities, and combination attacks with their allies. The game's main character, Chai, and his ragtag team of allies have become fan favourites as they fight against an evil robotics enhancement megacorp, facing off against rowdy rebels and badass bosses in over-the-top battle sequences. Players take on the role of an undercover Soviet KGB agent sent to investigate a secret facility that has gone silent. The game's combat system is diverse, with players able to use a variety of weapons and abilities to take down enemies. The seventh game on our list is Resident Evil 4 Remake - Developed by Capcom, the remake updates the graphics and gameplay mechanics while staying true to the original story. Players once again take on the role of Leon S. Kennedy as he ventures into a rural Spanish village to rescue the President's daughter. The updated visuals are stunning, with detailed environments, realistic lighting, and improved character models. The gameplay has been updated with new controls and camera perspectives, making it more intuitive and immersive. The game's intense third-person shooting and exploration remain intact, with added features that enhance the gameplay. The Resident Evil 4 Remake features impressive sound design and well-developed characters with updated voice acting. Its intense gameplay, immersive world, and updated graphics make it a standout addition to the franchise for both fans and newcomers alike.
The eighth game on our list is Like a Dragon: Ishin! - a spin-off of the "Yakuza" series, set in Japan's Bakumatsu period. The game follows Sakamoto Ryoma, a new protagonist fighting for justice and freedom in a time of political unrest. The gameplay is similar to the "Yakuza" series, with open-world exploration and brawling combat, featuring updated combat mechanics and new weapons. The game's setting is richly detailed, and features mini-games and side quests. The traditional Japanese soundtrack and exceptional voice acting bring the characters to life. "Like a Dragon: Ishin" is a unique addition to the "Yakuza" series, providing an immersive experience of Japanese history and culture.
The ninth game on our list is Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales - a thrilling standalone game developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It features Miles Morales as the main protagonist, who is learning to become a superhero while balancing his personal life and superhero duties in a wintry New York City. Players can swing around the city, fight enemies, and complete missions, with new abilities for Miles, including invisibility and electric attacks. The game's story is well-crafted, with impressive graphics and sound design that create a magical atmosphere. Overall, the game is an excellent addition to the Spider-Man franchise, offering an engaging story and exciting gameplay.
The tenth game on our list is OCTOPATH TRAVELER II - sequel to the hit game "Octopath Traveler," which features stunning HD-2D graphics that are even more impressive than before, bringing the diverse cultures and industries of the Solistia realm to life. Players once again assume the roles of eight different characters, each with their own unique origins, motivations, and abilities. With the freedom to explore the world at their own pace, players can toggle between day and night to transform towns and their inhabitants, revealing new paths to explore and stories to experience. The addition of new mechanics, such as the ability to board canoes or sail the sea on a large vessel, adds even more excitement to the already exhilarating gameplay. "Octopath Traveler II" is a must-play for anyone who loves immersive storytelling, stunning graphics, and strategic gameplay. Ok. So that is our list of the top 10 PC games of 2023, but I do have 3 more honorable mentions for you.
The first one is The Last of Us Part 1 Remake which is an action-adventure game developed by Naughty Dog, which was originally released in 2013. The same studio has now created a remake of the game with improved graphics and gameplay. The remake has already been available on the PlayStation and is set to release on March 28, 2023, on PC, as of writing this. I have included it in the bonus list because my team missed it on the upcoming PC games list of 2023, and it's just around the corner. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world where a fungal infection has transformed the majority of the population into aggressive creatures called "infected." Players control Joel, a smuggler who is responsible for escorting Ellie, a young girl, across the country to a group of rebels known as the Fireflies.
The second honorable mention is Street Fighter 6 which is an upcoming fighting game developed by Capcom, the latest instalment in the popular Street Fighter series. It is expected to introduce new mechanics and features to the franchise, including an updated graphics engine, a roster of both new and returning characters, and improved gameplay mechanics. The game is set to be released on June 2nd, 2023, and again, I have included it in this list as we missed mentioning it in the “Top 10 Upcoming PC Games” video.
The third honorable mention is One Piece Odyssey which is a new RPG based on the popular ONE PIECE anime and manga series. Players take on the role of various members of the Straw Hat Crew as they navigate a lush tropical island and encounter dangerous enemies and forces of nature. Despite its popularity, ONE PIECE ODYSSEY did not make it onto a top 10 list due to strong competition from other RPGs with more polished gameplay and storytelling. However, fans of the ONE PIECE series may still find enjoyment in the game's faithful adaptation of the source material and its classic RPG mechanics. Well, that's it, guys. I hope that helped. If you're still searching for more games, please check out my previous video on the Top 10 Upcoming PC Games of 2023, where you'll find even more exciting titles to look forward to. I'll also be releasing genre-specific videos for PC games in the future, and I'll be updating this list throughout the year. If that interests you, make sure to subscribe so you get those notifications.
All right guys, I'll see you next time!

2023.03.31 16:52 Temporary_Noise_4014 Interest in Gold Miners Increases as Bank Fiasco Causes Market to Seek Safe Haven Assets $ELEM $NFG $ARTG $AGI $WDO
In the immediate aftermath of the
SVB banking fiasco, safe haven seeking investors flocked to gold causing the precious metal’s price to surge on the first day of trading as the week began. But prior to the bank’s chaos, at the 2023 PDAC mining conference in Toronto, mining analyst and Portfolio Manager and Partner at
Crescat Capital predicted “at least a triple in gold prices” to be a likely scenario, along with an 85% gain for miners in the space. For those watching the gold miner ETFs,
VanEck research has been optimistic, highlighting how gold miners are in a rare position of trading below 5x price to cash flow, and that “Historically, gold miners’ shares have actually rallied hard off such low valuations.” Among the gold miners with momentum heading into the middle of 2023 are
Element79 Gold Corp. (CSE:ELEM) (OTC:ELMGF),
New Found Gold Corp. (TSXV:NFG) (NYSE-American:NFGC),
Artemis Gold Inc. (TSXV:ARTG) (OTC:ARGTF),
Alamos Gold Inc. (NYSE:AGI) (TSX:AGI), and
Wesdome Gold Mines Ltd. (TSX:WDO) (OTC:WDOFF).

Element79 Gold Corp. (CSE:ELEM) (OTC:ELMGF) with its Lucero Project in Peru underway, where the company already has been permitted for 350 tonnes per day production. While not its flagship asset,
Element79 expects to see production from Lucero inject non-dilutive cashflow into the company’s coffers in the near future in order to finance exploration on its Tier-1 Resource bearing Maverick Springs property in Nevada, with 3.71 million ounces of gold equivalent Inferred already on site.

Element79 having recently delivering high-grade assay results up to 7.7 g/t Au and 916 g/t ag. Now the company has gone ahead and terminated its other Peruvian project Machacala to further tighten its share structure further, optimize future cash flows, and increase
Element79’s its Peruvian efforts solely on Lucero—the more high-value, high-grade, near-term cash flow opportunity of the two.
"This Transaction also helps sharpen our corporate focus on our core properties, mainly restarting the High-Grade Past-Producing gold-silver mine operations at Lucero and further developing the resource at Maverick Springs, and we feel that the beneficial effect of this focus will become more significant as the company grows,” said James Tworek, CEO of
Element79 Gold. “We have several milestones to hit in the near future and we look forward to sharing these developments as our team achieves them."
At its Queensway project in Newfoundland and Labrador,
New Found Gold Corp.(TSXV:NFG) (NYSE-American:NFGC) announced a significant new discovery in the Iceberg zone along the highly prolific Keats-Baseline Fault Zone (KBFZ), intercepting 49.7 g/t gold over 29.9 metres—causing shares of the company to soar upon the market’s reception of the news.
The announcement came just weeks after
New Found made its first big release of the Iceberg zone’s potential, when it found 72.2 g/t gold over 9.65m at the beginning of the same month.
"The discovery of Iceberg renews our enthusiasm around the highly prolific KBFZ,” said Greg Matheson, COO for
New Found. “Iceberg exudes the same qualities that our earlier drilling found at Keats Main. Both display significant quartz veining over several-metre-wide intercepts that start at surface and both are hosted by the KBFZ – a fault with demonstrated ability to concentrate significant amounts of high-grade gold mineralization with considerable strike continuity.”
In British Columbia, Canada,
Artemis Gold Inc. (TSXV:ARTG) (OTC:ARGTF) obtained its BC Mines Act Permit for the company’s Blackwater Mine. With this final step of approval out of the way,
Artemis Gold moved towards the commencement of major works construction activities at the mine in Q1 2023, with the expectation of an initial gold pour in H2 2024.
"British Columbians will benefit from hundreds of new jobs from this new mine, with both its construction and multiple decades of operation," said Josie Osborne, Minister of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation, for British Columbia, Canada. "
Artemis Gold has designed a world-class mine that supports the economic needs of the local region; brings First Nations in as partners in training, business development and jobs opportunities; and helps to meet provincial climate targets with the use of sustainable, clean electricity."
Prior to the final approvals,
Artemis Gold closed a $385 million project loan financing with another $40 million standby cost overrun facility.
"Execution of the definitive documents for the PLF is yet another major milestone on the development path for Blackwater,” said Steven Dean, Chairman and CEO. “The calibre of the syndicate banks who have joined the leads National Bank and Macquarie is further testimony to the financial strength of the Project."
At its Lynn Lake Gold Project in Manitoba, Canada,
Alamos Gold Inc. (NYSE:AGI) (TSX:AGI) achieved significant permitting milestones at the beginning of March 2023. Among those,
Alamo announced that they completed the federal Environmental Impact Assessment, receiving a positive Decision Statement from the Minister of Environment and Climate Change Canada. As well, in accordance with the provinces Environment Act,
Alamos also received Environment Act Licenses for its MacLellan and Gordon sites, which helped the company increase their Mineral Reserves by 27% to 2.1 million ounces of gold.
“Achieving both of these important regulatory milestones for the Lynn Lake Gold Project represents a multi-year, collaborative effort by our team and our commitment to environmental sustainability,” said John A. McCluskey,
Alamos President and CEO. “Lynn Lake is a significant opportunity to drive the future growth of our business in Canada, with the potential to increase our annual production to approximately 800,000 ounces of gold per year.”
An updated Feasibility Study is expected to be completed during the first half of 2023, while
Alamos also focuses exploration efforts on a large underexplored land package with significant potential at the Lynn Lake Project in 2023. The company has already assembled a $5 million budget for the program.
Toronto-based miner
Wesdome Gold Mines Ltd. (TSX:WDO) (OTC:WDOFF) recently updated its Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve figures at both its Kiena Mine Complex in Val d’Or, Quebec and at the Eagle River Mine near Wawa, Ontario.
As of December 31, 2022,
Wesdome’s combined proven and probable mineral reserves totaled 1.0 million ounces of gold through 2.4 million tonnes grading 12.9 g/t gold. As well, the company’s combined Measured and Indicated mineral resources were 350,000 ounces of gold, through 1.4 million tonnes grading 7.7 g/t gold, as well as a combined Inferred mineral resource of 1.1 million ounces, through 6.4 million tonnes grading 5.2 g/t gold.
The upgrades announced by
Wesdome came as an optimistic upgrade after admitting to 2022 being quite difficult for the company.
“2022 was a challenging year for
Wesdome, and we have leveraged our experiences to ensure better operational and financial performance going forward,” said Warwick Morley-Jepson, Interim CEO in
Wesdome’s Q4 and FY 2022 results. “We consider this year to be a transition year as we get Kiena back on schedule, setting up 2024 to be a stronger year operationally, as well as financially.”

The announcement came just weeks after New Found made its first big release of the Iceberg zone’s potential, when it found 72.2 g/t gold over 9.65m at the beginning of the same month. "The discovery of Iceberg renews our enthusiasm around the highly prolific KBFZ,” said Greg Matheson, COO for New Found. “Iceberg exudes the same qualities that our earlier drilling found at Keats Main. Both display significant quartz veining over several-metre-wide intercepts that start at surface and both are hosted by the KBFZ – a fault with demonstrated ability to concentrate significant amounts of high-grade gold mineralization with considerable strike continuity.” In British Columbia, Canada, Artemis Gold Inc. (TSXV:ARTG) (OTC:ARGTF) obtained its BC Mines Act Permit for the company’s Blackwater Mine. With this final step of approval out of the way, Artemis Gold moved towards the commencement of major works construction activities at the mine in Q1 2023, with the expectation of an initial gold pour in H2 2024. "British Columbians will benefit from hundreds of new jobs from this new mine, with both its construction and multiple decades of operation," said Josie Osborne, Minister of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation, for British Columbia, Canada. " Artemis Gold has designed a world-class mine that supports the economic needs of the local region; brings First Nations in as partners in training, business development and jobs opportunities; and helps to meet provincial climate targets with the use of sustainable, clean electricity." Prior to the final approvals, Artemis Gold closed a $385 million project loan financing with another $40 million standby cost overrun facility. "Execution of the definitive documents for the PLF is yet another major milestone on the development path for Blackwater,” said Steven Dean, Chairman and CEO. “The calibre of the syndicate banks who have joined the leads National Bank and Macquarie is further testimony to the financial strength of the Project." At its Lynn Lake Gold Project in Manitoba, Canada, Alamos Gold Inc. (NYSE:AGI) (TSX:AGI) achieved significant permitting milestones at the beginning of March 2023. Among those, Alamo announced that they completed the federal Environmental Impact Assessment, receiving a positive Decision Statement from the Minister of Environment and Climate Change Canada. As well, in accordance with the provinces Environment Act, Alamos also received Environment Act Licenses for its MacLellan and Gordon sites, which helped the company increase their Mineral Reserves by 27% to 2.1 million ounces of gold. “Achieving both of these important regulatory milestones for the Lynn Lake Gold Project represents a multi-year, collaborative effort by our team and our commitment to environmental sustainability,” said John A. McCluskey, Alamos President and CEO. “Lynn Lake is a significant opportunity to drive the future growth of our business in Canada, with the potential to increase our annual production to approximately 800,000 ounces of gold per year.” An updated Feasibility Study is expected to be completed during the first half of 2023, while Alamos also focuses exploration efforts on a large underexplored land package with significant potential at the Lynn Lake Project in 2023. The company has already assembled a $5 million budget for the program. Toronto-based miner Wesdome Gold Mines Ltd. (TSX:WDO) (OTC:WDOFF) recently updated its Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve figures at both its Kiena Mine Complex in Val d’Or, Quebec and at the Eagle River Mine near Wawa, Ontario. As of December 31, 2022, Wesdome’s combined proven and probable mineral reserves totaled 1.0 million ounces of gold through 2.4 million tonnes grading 12.9 g/t gold. The upgrades announced by Wesdome came as an optimistic upgrade after admitting to 2022 being quite difficult for the company. “2022 was a challenging year for Wesdome, and we have leveraged our experiences to ensure better operational and financial performance going forward,” said Warwick Morley-Jepson, Interim CEO in Wesdome’s Q4 and FY 2022 results. “We consider this year to be a transition year as we get Kiena back on schedule, setting up 2024 to be a stronger year operationally, as well as financially.” Article Source: https://usanewsgroup.com/2023/02/13/how-to-build-the-perfect-gold-story-in-2023-a-textbook-example/ submitted by Temporary_Noise_4014 to pennystocks [link] [comments] |
2023.03.31 16:49 coffeeadaydoctoraway [Tentative Post] I think I’m cured.
CAVEAT I am NOT a doctor. I am NOT prescribing any of the following for anyone else. I am NOT saying that because the following worked for me it will work for you.
Your mileage may vary.
Buyer Beware.
Take with a grain of salt.
Etc.
What I am saying is the following is what I have done
personally, and the result has been that I have not experienced IH in four months.
Long post ahead Background I’m 39 year-old white male. I suffered with IH for as long as I can remember (and I remember having this problem in my early childhood—probably as young as 8 years old).
IH would manifest for me as a super-intense, sudden onset sleepiness in the late mornings, mid-afternoon, early evening. It wouldn’t matter if I slept 12 hours the night before or 4 hours. Same thing would happen.
It would be such that I felt intoxicated many times, couldn’t think straight, very irritable, and an acute “I must sleep right now or I will die” feeling.
I started taking doctor-prescribed stimulants in August 2021. These did not solve IH, but made it more difficult to sleep at night.
Now I had gradually made some changes and lost around 20 pounds (from 195lbs to 175lbs), but late in 2022, I began in earnest to reevaluate and modify my nutrition and health. I did this completely unrelated to IH. I just decided that I was getting older and wanted to see if I could become more health conscious and eat better.
So I did. The benefits were quickly observed, such as maintaining the weight loss. The most delightful benefit, however, was my IH went away.
The following is
not scientific. I did not isolate one thing to test its impact on my IH. I just did all of them at the same time and my IH disappeared.
I’ve kept all of this up since late November, early December.
Not only is the IH gone, but I feel better in nearly every metric in my life: better mood, improved libido, sharper focus, and continued weight loss, but not dramatic (10lbs more this year).
Here is the list of what I
personally did, and though it has worked for me, it may not work for anyone else:
- Switched to Natural/Raw dairy (i.e. unpasteurized milk)
- Stopped drinking straight tap water (switched to 90-95% mineral water or coconut water, and 5-10% filtered, purified water)
- Cold coconut water or mineral water first thing when I wake up in the morning.
- Substantial decrease in caffeine consumption.
- Learning about “over caffeinating” was revolutionary for me. No coffee for the first 90mins - 2 hours after waking. And only 12-16 total ounces at most for an entire day.
- My diet is mostly meat, eggs, and dairy. I eat some fruit, and some veggies (but very few).
- Significant reduction in processed foods (any food in a box). I’m working towards total elimination of processed food.
- I eliminated “seed oils” from my diet (only use olive, avocado, or coconut oil, real butter, lard and beef tallow to cook).
- Consequently, I reduced eating at restaurants by 95%.
- Sunlight every day.
- Switched to non-fluoride toothpaste.
- Cold showers.
My morning routine regardless of how much sleep I got the night before:
- Open the blinds to let sunlight in, get out of bed and grab a coconut or mineral water from the fridge and drink it right away, if I’m showering that day, I set it to “uncomfortably cold” and jump in for 2 mins (then turning to warm to finish up if needed), and I’m dressed and out in the sunlight as soon as possible after waking up (no sunglasses, no sunscreen, letting the sunlight soak on my skin—even on cloudy days this works).
That’s everything. No real exercise to speak of. No vitamin supplements. No meds.
My IH is gone.
What’s been crazy for me is that I’m so used to napping in the afternoon that I still “want to” sometimes. So I’ll get into bed to nap, but can’t fall asleep. My energy level is too high and I have to get back up after a few minutes.
Anyway, maybe this will be beneficial for someone. Or maybe for no one.
If nothing else, I hope to merely encourage you to keep tinkering and striving to find a strategy that works for you. I inadvertently stumbled upon a combination of things that has worked for me for now. And I wanted to share that.
I hope everyone here finds what works for them. Because IH truly sucks, and I want all of us to overcome it somehow and at some point.

2023.03.31 16:48 Temporary_Noise_4014 Interest in Gold Miners Increases as Bank Fiasco Causes Market to Seek Safe Haven Assets $ELEM $NFG $ARTG $AGI $WDO
| In the immediate aftermath of the SVB banking fiasco, safe haven seeking investors flocked to gold causing the precious metal’s price to surge on the first day of trading as the week began. But prior to the bank’s chaos, at the 2023 PDAC mining conference in Toronto, mining analyst and Portfolio Manager and Partner at Crescat Capital predicted “at least a triple in gold prices” to be a likely scenario, along with an 85% gain for miners in the space. For those watching the gold miner ETFs, VanEck research has been optimistic, highlighting how gold miners are in a rare position of trading below 5x price to cash flow, and that “Historically, gold miners’ shares have actually rallied hard off such low valuations.” Among the gold miners with momentum heading into the middle of 2023 are Element79 Gold Corp. (CSE:ELEM) (OTC:ELMGF), New Found Gold Corp. (TSXV:NFG) (NYSE-American:NFGC), Artemis Gold Inc. (TSXV:ARTG) (OTC:ARGTF), Alamos Gold Inc. (NYSE:AGI) (TSX:AGI), and Wesdome Gold Mines Ltd. (CSE:ELEM) (OTC:ELMGF) with its Lucero Project in Peru underway, where the company already has been permitted for 350 tonnes per day production. While not its flagship asset, Element79 expects to see production from Lucero inject non-dilutive cashflow into the company’s coffers in the near future in order to finance exploration on its Tier-1 Resource bearing Maverick Springs property in Nevada, with 3.71 million ounces of gold equivalent Inferred already on site. https://preview.redd.it/k345rto183ra1.png?width=461&format=png&auto=webp&s=fb337d701364fc7aff922b263d19f6217f1e4920 So far, Lucero’s development has made things go smoothly for Element79 having recently delivering high-grade assay results up to 7.7 g/t Au and 916 g/t ag. Now the company has gone ahead and terminated its other Peruvian project Machacala to further tighten its share structure further, optimize future cash flows, and increase Element79’s its Peruvian efforts solely on Lucero—the more high-value, high-grade, near-term cash flow opportunity of the two. 2023.03.31 16:45 Joe23267 March(ing) Forward! - a monthly recap
A continuation from my post on progress made in February (
https://www.reddit.com/Dungeon23/comments/11f7zbs/februarys_progress/).
March has been a challenge for me. Having accepted a new job, I got sucked into the tornado of selling houses, applying for mortgages, contacting movers and realtors. I yearned for the days when I could pack everything into the back of my car or get my friends to come over and stuff my worldly belongings into a truck, but those days are long gone so there was nothing to do but get back to work.
This month was consumed by detailing the Wizard’s Isle. The Iyesgarten regional map (
https://dysonlogos.blog/2020/01/13/regional-hexmap/) has a large lake on its western edge. I added mountains to the blank hexes north and west of the lake to serve as a source for the river and a barrier for the swamp. As I worked on that edge of the map, I noticed how large the island is (referring to the map scale of 6 miles per hex) and decided to place both a Wizard’s Tower and a Temple of Magic on the island.
In my world, the long-lived race are the Yisi and, unlike Tolkien’s elves, they are domineering, arrogant, steampunk-ish magic users. The Tower is a factory for building constructs that I call mechanimi, robot-like machines that are powered by magic-charged crystals. The Temple was a great place of learning until the humans rose up and overthrew the Yisi several hundred years ago. Now the Temple is a much smaller, covert school that is primarily a training ground for mages who want to work in the Tower.
I started with the Tower and its accompanying first dungeon level using Dyson Logos’ Eleint Passages (
https://dysonlogos.blog/tag/eleint-passages/) maps with one addition that I’ll discuss below. The Tower is a headquarters type place, while the first level is a showroom for the constructs. Demonstrations are held here to show off the capabilities of the constructs.
The second level is a combination dungeon, with finished walls and floors, and a natural cave system. Faerie creatures who have lived here before the Yisi arrived on planet continue to populate the “wild places” of the caves but the Yisi treat the place like an underground park. The Yisi also mine the tunnels for the crystal that they need for the constructs.
There is a deeper level connected to the dungeon (the Fane) through a single secret passage and this is where the crystals are cut and powered with magic to make them suitable to be used as a power source for constructs.
On the eastern side of the second level, there is a stream that entered the map. I wanted to give the head wizard a place to keep his secrets, so I did a little editing and joined a Five Room Dungeon map (
https://dysonlogos.blog/2022/11/07/temple-cave-of-the-ruinous-ministers/) to the Eleint Passage’s second level. The only entrance to this secret place is a fast moving stream that is guarded by a fae creature. Hidden away, the wizard keeps his spell books (huge obsidian slabs etched with the spells) and his own treasure.
All in all, the Tower and its subterranean levels amounted to over 40 rooms, some with a number of sub-rooms). I spent extra time on some days and wrote up multiple rooms, but always wrote at least one room a day.
Next month, I’ll start with the Temple and its dungeon. ;)

Source Lewy is obviously incredible and I think he will be a strong BdO contender this season…
But I think Kounde will be our best signing under Xavi. He stabilizes our defense so much and he almost feels like another midfielder when he tucks in as a RB or when he drives forward as a CB. He is just so good on the ball and can even cross well
He was already the best defender in La Liga, but he will be the best in the world soon

Dembele provides so much with his pace. Man's just explosive. His right-left feet combinations look so sexy!
Balde quietly becoming reliable. Nobody expected him to bench Alba so completely so soon. Bravo!
Bellerin made no mistakes. Looked very mature and capable.
Gavi energetic as ever. And Pedri is our new Iniesta.
Bobby boy with a brace. More importantly, he looks really happy. Maybe he wasn't this much at Munich?
Memphis struck like a viper for his goal, it was electric. Good for him.
Ter Stegen with another clean sheet in the league.
Overall, the team looks in good form. All players are committed. Good football is back.

'll start (from a guy's view):
I just turned 30 myself, and have marveled at the changes that I've slowly gone through. Ultimately I find that I can relate significantly better to people ages 28-70 than I can with those in college. In spite of the traditional outlook of maturity: "I realize how much of an adult I am because I see how stupid I used to be," I've also had some experiences which have been minor epiphanies to me. I've gotten married, been cheated on, been arrested, poured money into a failing business, and made a ton of money in another, and been on national TV. So with that being said, I think I've had some life experiences which put me above the average "out of college and into a job" format. So, I'd like to give you guys some pointers with how to deal with the various stresses that will come into your life:
-Good friends are hard to find. I can count on just a handful of people to really be there for me when times get rough. There will be plenty of people willing to hang out or give you a lift, but few who will actually care about you and your problems. Most people simply don't give a shit. This is especially true with money, and I've seen it end relationships. Many people are very selfish.
-Know who someone is and accept them for that. People rarely change. If someone is cheap, then they're cheap. If someone is emotional, then they're emotional. If you can't deal with that, then don't hang out with that person, but getting angry or offended when they do something that's clearly in their nature is futile.
-People make decisions emotionally, not logically. Typically someone's viewpoint, be it on a political issue, religion, or whatever is emotionally driven. People will do what makes them feel comfortable then look for reasons to justify that behavior. Everyone operates on a heavy confirmation bias. Do average Republicans/Democrats/Christians/Muslims actually go in with an open mind and just decide to be that way? No. It can be conformity, rebellion, anger, pride, or any combination of emotions but it's at the core. Their viewpoints become part of their personality, and extensions of their personality, so if you try to debate them, many interpret it as making a personal attack.
-Love will make you do stupid things. Try explaining to a buddy that his girlfriend isn't right for him. But he's in looooove. This is the absolute extreme of emotional decision-making.
-Constantly looking around for a "better catch" in a relationship will drive your current one into the ground. You can't be ambivalent about your intentions. It's not fair to the other person, and honestly, the "new person" out there will always look so "easy" in comparison to your actual relationship problems. However, nobody is perfect and couples will always argue. Unless you're truly unhappy, don't think like you're still in the game when someone else loves you. But this will undoubtedly happen all the time in many relationships.
-If you have a girlfriend in college, be cautious when you both enter the workforce. Maybe it's me as a male saying this, but just as with the above, your girlfriend will start getting all sorts of attention from older, successful guys all the time. I'm not saying she's going to cheat on you (well mine carried on an affair for several months) but she's might start thinking about what other options are out there and "what the world has to offer."
-Learn how to dress, and don't take your significant other for granted. Keep up the romance and still treat her like she's the most special person for you, even if you've heard absolutely everything she's had to say. Women want to be desired, and if she perceives you as being lazy, those guys in suits are going to start looking good, and she might just start going to happy hour "with the girls from the office" more often.
-Get a good education. I always thought that I was smart enough to just figure everything out. And I was right (sorry for the lack of modesty) in that formal training wouldn't and didn't help me in business much at all. However, a degree from a top level school will get you in the door pretty much anywhere, while one from a mid level school will just put you in with the masses. Additionally, you'll get to know people.
-Knowing the right people is the key to success in business. Absolutely everyone at the top level can just make a phone call to their buddy to hook something up. You know a buddy from school who's a mechanic? Getting a good deal on that transmission rebuild. What if that guy was a C level executive? Let's put together the deal at 30,000 feet (common expression) then let all the underlings sort out the details.
-Don't do anything stupid which will screw up your record- especially the criminal one. Think you're tough at a bar? Great. I'm sure you'll really appreciate that battery conviction appearing on your background for the next five years. Have fun getting a job after that one. The cops aren't there to solve your problems. They're there to arrest someone. That's their entire function when they arrive at the scene- investigate to determine if there's a crime and arrest someone. If you get arrested even for the smallest misdemeanor, then you can expect to pay about $5k in legal fees even before trial. Also, the whole court process will take forever, so imagine whacking some guy when you were drunk then getting charged with disorderly conduct, & aggravated assault and battery and not being able to move on with your life for a full year. It sucks.
-Know what you want and go for it. Uncertainty is a major cause of stress. Have a plan and stick to it. If you're lonely and you're looking for love, then put yourself in a good position. Increase your odds. Play coed softball. Meet new people. You're never going to pick up a chick in a bar, because let's face it, it pretty much never happens to most people. Most meet their girlfriends through friends or colleagues. Create a context.
-Life and fulfillment are about perspective. If you're proud of yourself then you're going to be happy. However, if you're not proud of yourself then no amount of fame, money, women, drugs, or anything will fill that void.

2023.03.31 16:35 thenletskeepdancing My recovery so far
I almost feel like I was asleep most of my life and woke up within the space of a few years. Like all my life I was in a confused fog.I would always second-guess my instincts because the main messages I’d always received about myself were that I was too selfish or too sensitive and that the only way I would be loved was to be useful and flattering. So that anything I felt I always tried to suppress. Because of this, I had a hard time sorting out people who were good for me and those who weren’t. I made some poor choices. I was always in the thrall of something or someone.
And then a combination of tools and circumstances happened that began to make me more in touch with myself and my emotions and thoughts than I previously had been able to be and to be more authentic with myself and others. I tried several therapists but had more luck with other things.
I started to live from the inside out instead of from the outside in. I broke up with my unhealthy boyfriend. I spent a lot of much-needed time alone and focused on myself due to the pandemic. I began meditation and yoga and walking in nature. I started a journal and read a lot of self-help books.
And, I think most importantly, my abuser died. Which freed me somehow to be angry with her and honest with myself for the first time about her impact on me. Within the space of a few years, I have finally stepped into my own personhood and power.
I still struggle with after-effects but am present and respond to myself more often than not. I make missteps but at least I know there’s a path and it’s realizing that listening to myself and my feelings is worthwhile after all and paying attention to and validating them and then taking steps to honor them are what I now do. I guess that’s inner parent/child sort of work and finally making up for what she failed to do. I feel much better for it.
I still have issues, but they are happening far less, and my fawning not at all! I do still have somewhat disordered eating patterns left over. I’ll binge with carbohydrates to comfort myself once a week or so. I’ll skip nutritious food to eat sweets instead. I am experiencing autoimmune issues and digestive issues. I still have anxiety when asked to learn how to do something I don’t already know in front of other people, but they are far less.
I still occasionally ruminate and second-guess what other people are thinking about something I said or posted online. But these shame spirals happen less and less and I’m able to stop them more quickly.
As far as relationships go, I’m in a relatively healthy relationship in which I am practicing communicating my needs. I feel heard and respected and loved. I still need lots of time alone to keep my equilibrium but they’re ok with that. I have been focusing on forming healthy friendships (and blocking people I don’t want to be around) for the last couple of years and have been learning things like showing up for people and remembering birthdays and stuff that seem important to others. And what I’ve learned about not using my sexuality for validation would fill a book. I have to make sure not to dissociate during sex. I’ve got some trauma around that too.
I grew up so entangled with dysfunction that it will be a lifetime of discerning what is mine and what is not. But I feel much farther on that path. It’s almost like my abusive mother was a parasite that colonized my head and freeing myself has been a lengthy operation. I feel a kinship with cult members.
I have to watch my mind for an Incessant Inner Critic that used to follow me everywhere and I was not even aware of it. Then I spent years recognizing and talking back against it. Exhausting work and sometimes I did surrender to the old thoughts and let them wash over me for days. But over all, I am winning the war. I have big lengths of time now where I am happy and at peace.

2023.03.31 16:31 crustivan Failing at self-analysis: please help!
Hey everyone! 👋
I seem to be some kind of ethical intuitive type. Although I understand the socionics theory in principle, I experience great difficulty in differentiating myself, especially between vital / mental placements of functions.
Usually it goes like this: I start analyzing my actions, and I'm able to come up with several different versions of why these actions were so-and-so, with all versions being totally different on a functional level lol.
I'm kinda tired of that, so I thought that maybe an external viewpoint will be more insightful. The reason why I'm kinda bent on this is because I feel that you can't really understand Socionics well if you can't understand how it applies to you personally. Once you got that, you can understand others through empathy.
So here are the little factoids about myself.
Related to ethical functions:
- I'm internally very emotional, but outwardly I'm usually calm and reserved. I'm not super expressive by default, I have a rather muffled voice etc. But I like to crack a joke and make people happy, if the situation allows it! Once I relax, people have noted I can be really expressive.
- I'm quite opinionated and I love freedom, for example I can easily leave an objectively great situation simply because I feel it weighs down on me. I even left jobs on that basis. And I inspire my friends to do the same.
- It is quite easy for me to build relationships based on sympathy. I don't always pursue this as a goal in itself though, it is comfortable to maintain some distance by default. Even though I'm almost always unobtrusive and friendly, and I instinctively feel how to make communication comfortable in one-to-one scenarios.
- I'm not very competitive and in teenage years I was a people pleaser, which is a trait I've been trying to balance out by being opinionated.
- I can be quite shy in situations with loud, dominant people; when I'm stuck with people who have interests I don't know anything about (like cars lol) and I feel they won't be interested with what I've got to say; or when I'm a newcomer in a tightly knit group.
Related to intuitive functions:
- Lots of different interests; LOTS. I like reading and watching lectures on different topics, more-or-less fill my time with some kind of research. I'm not meticulous, rather I'm inspired by novelty. Sometimes I feel that I've learned enough and then I can drop the research.
- Quick to grasp new things. Good memory for words, terminology, concepts, connections between them. VERY helpful in work, because it allows me to take on the problem solver role, I'm usually the first to find some sort of first steps towards the goal.
- Love brainstorming. However, it works poorly when I'm all alone with my thoughts. Also, when I'm alone, tranquil emotions can overcome me and make my thinking lazy lol. I need to have some sort of dialogue (not necessarily with a person, it can be some other kind of verbal activity like reading a book). If I have some sort of external impulse — a riddle, a question, some interesting bit I've read — I'll start reacting to it as if it was a dialogue, and new ideas will come to me. I noticed that the best ideas come to me when I'm talking and my brain is thinking on autopilot.
- I love art. Especially if there is some sort of clever idea behind it that is combined with beauty of craftsmanship. I'm not too keen on art that's heavy on emotions, I prefer "airy", "clear", "energetic" and "well-made" stuff instead. Abundance of tragic emotion in an art piece wears me out.
Related to sensing functions:
- I love sensory pleasures: food, fragrance, sports etc. I can cook quite well, people usually think that I have a good palate. I usually follow recipes at first, but after some time I get the hang of it and can improvise confidently. I bake sourdough bread as a hobby lol!
- I really like beautiful things and items, but I don't like having them or managing them. Museum is enough. But beauty inspires me greatly and I immediately want to make something beautiful too.
- Another hobby is fragrance, although I'm still learning it. I'm not as confident in it as I am in cooking, but I'm getting there I guess. I'm fascinated by how the smell changes over time, how some noses (like Kurkidjan) make incredible multilayered mixes which seem simple but are quite complex. One of my best memories ever was visiting Grasse in France and immersing myself in the world of perfumes.
- My home is a mess lol, thank god my spouse is a bit more organized (she is juuuust a bit less messy than me) and together we can combine our forces and power through. We joke sometimes that we are like nomads — living with just enough stuff that could fit into two suitcases.
- I don't really care much about clothing, and I prefer to stick to something comfortable. Visually I like stuff like linen (even unbleached), tweed jackets, pastel colors, some bits of boho style — eclectic, but leaning into vintage side of things. Comfort is still a priority though.
- I don't like confrontation, although I can be quite combative if provoked (if someone is threatening people close to me etc). But whom am I fooling there, my chances of winning in a head-to-head conflict are not that high. I prefer win-win situations, and I believe such a solution is ALWAYS possible, you just have to search for it lol instead of acting like a dick.
Related to logic functions:
- First association: work. I'm a programmer (iOS engineer), so I have to do a fair bit of Ti/Te. I'm not that inclined to it though — I have wide, but not in-depth competencies. I find it difficult to keep concentration on complicated systems, and I prefer to break the tasks into tiny bits and going step by step. There are techniques that help you deal with complexity. Luckily, work doesn't consist only of Ti/Te grind and people skills are needed too.
- I have quick but superficial grasp on stuff. It helps me prototype, find solutions and directions, I'm usually the first to start offering steps forward. Like a dynamo to a car engine. My colleagues and bosses find that useful for sure. But I kinda suck in situations that call for long-term effort. So I stick to prototyping, some sorts of RnD. I help break through in some area and then hand my results to other people with more staying power.
- I'm not interested in business as earning money, which I find a bad influence on one's soul. But I don't feel the need to earn a lot of money, for me enough is the amount that I need for some degree of independence. I'd rather live in humble conditions, than overextend. I usually have some reserves so that I'm not hard pressed to stay at a job or a place I don't like.
- I'm however inspired by organizations that have non-profit goals and make amazing products. Think, art collectives etc.
- I like learning techniques and tricks that allow to be more efficient and spend less time doing dumb work.

So, I feel like I'm most likely an IEI or IEE. Less likely EII (I'm not as meticulous) or EIE (I'm not so outwardly intense or charismatic). But I'm so confused still lol.
I'd be most happy if we could turn this thread into a general discussion of functions, socionics phenomena, and spent some quality time together! I'll be happy if you maybe shared your own feelings about the topics I mentioned. If I could try to help you make sense of your own type — let me know, let's do it here too!

2023.03.31 16:29 CabbageMessiah Recommend Creators / Communities That Don't Suppress Awareness of Inequity / Exploitation
Over the pandemic lockdown, I decided I wanted to possibly join the masses of people dumping creative content online, focusing on my experiences with exploitation, corruption, abuse, poverty, and exploitation. I began drafting a script in 2021 of a series I wanted to make, when my devices became apparently hacked. I desperately tried to solve this and eventually after months, found a connection to neighbors in adjacent units surrounding mine. I'd learn that they were ex-convicts and the family that owned the property I was leasing from were connected to the Sheriff's Office and FBI. For nearly two months, I had a large team of people clearly openly surveilling me and having hacked my devices, were obstructing me from making any report. At first, I just thought it was some gang, but several things occurred that signified authoritative powers. The most stunning was being monitored into the airports, and on my flights, having a large team of people arranged all around me, who were behaving extremely provocatively in what appeared to be an attempt to make me panic, they were participating with the attendants, and appeared to slip something into my drink.
I summarized this with some more thoughts in another thread:
First Comment Follow-up Elaboration I don't mind ousting these people, but I'm aware that most public forums, even ones centered around critical thinking and political activism, has rules that bar sharing information and deferring to the integrity of our law enforcement for investigations....................
This has since made me very interested in stories about disruptive flight passengers and set me out to research and understand how my life was destroyed since I'm not notable in any way and not involved in anything criminal or even openly political, online or in public. Simply learning more about historical counter-intelligence and political persecution quickly turned up similar scenarios of people being targeted, but I began understanding an entire assembly line of political persecution since 9/11, a lot of which is covered by Trevor Aaronson at The Intercept.
Recently, a man named Francisco Torres was filmed on a flight totally freaking out about being willing to k---
automod blocked post yesterday people, tackled by passengers and crew, and broke off a spoon handle. I saw red flags all over the news article. There were segmented rationales, the filming starts only after he's shouting, everyone is being placid. It's perfect the way the narrative rationale is constructed by separate observations all around, dodging a meaningful narrative, allowing a combined inference of logic that's extended to the audience, while in reality, we don't know what happened beforehand or have the opportunity to ask, "Who are the passengers? Are they law enforcement by any chance? Are they ex-convicts by any chance? Have any been employed, past or present, as an informant? Has the man said anything was happening leading up to this?" And interestingly, Torres said he thought the attendant was going to k--- him, prompting him to resort to breaking the spoon handle in desperation in the restroom. I know from my personal experience, though, that this could be a setup. It appears something is going on with targeting, and articles have shown people can be targeted and have their lives isolated and puppeted for YEARS for profit from agents and informants.
I notice there's a photo of Torres on the ground being tackled, and strangely it was taken by a passenger named
Sami Ghookasian... The passenger that was also being interviewed... Who also mentions having counter-terrorism training... Who also is specified to be a Los Angeles government contractor in another article... Who shows up on Twitter as actually working for Department of Homeland Security...
So... Interesting he happened to be seated around Torres, that all those placid passengers were ready to go, and that Ghookasian desired to take a PR ready compelling photo in the midst of himself being involved in tackling a man... to provide to a nearby journalist who also has a Twitter filled pro-LEO and pro-military content... Huh, very familiar to informant-led sting operations and political hit jobs...
Well, that's all interesting, but there's little venues/platforms that even want to acknowledge that people are depressed or abused, much less that we live in an oppressive society beyond buzzwords championed by talking heads. And any activist heroes of yesteryear I've found only list their PR agents for media inquiries. It's a joke.
As was mentioned in a post recently, there's rarely a friendly place that allows or invites representing these realities, and I'm very tired of that. Where are active, conscious people also interested in these things and wanting to be allowed to talk about life or involve aspects of their lives that represent abuse and exploitation, even if not focused on intellectual topics explicitly. As a reality, if people were congregating, it might actually develop awareness that isn't only what is qualified by opposing interests with leverage. How can anyone become more aware of evolving operations to undermine society if they're not sharing.
I tried soliciting the
/raisedbynarcissists subreddit that I'm interested in, asking people for anyone they knew and liked creating content if not themselves who are simple like-minded and wanting to connect and find support. The response was tepid, which isn't surprising because vulnerable populations of people are disoriented being minimized by separation and hit with a loud message not to expose themselves.
I was happy to stumble across
a post here exposing me to @AliceCappelle, talking as frankly as I hope to find in open honesty. Does
/anarchism have any recommendations of channels, creators, streamers, and themselves where they'd like to direct support and socialize?
I'm hoping to create stuff in the future and create spaces for people but have nothing right now. submitted by

2023.03.31 16:26 CeonGlobal Agricultural Production Has Stopped All Over the World
| https://preview.redd.it/u3zl8we343ra1.jpg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6cbbfa2a4f9b42a286948f6285a48da52d80b2a0 Today marked a historic day as agriculture has come to a standstill. No agricultural products can be produced, the soil is dry, the plants are withering, and animal deaths are rapidly increasing. This disaster has directly tested the world population with hunger and thirst. This is where we face the consequences of a world without agriculture. The world's leading agricultural countries initially attempted to prevent the famine by using food stocks, but this effort only lasted a few weeks without agricultural production. As stocks rapidly depleted day by day, governments had to take harsh measures to control food resources. Food prices suddenly skyrocketed and became a luxury that only people with high incomes could afford. People with lower incomes faced death in the fight against hunger and thirst. This food crisis created chaos worldwide. Wars, conflicts, and rebellions occurred to obtain food. Governments increased their measures to control people. Borders closed, and international trade stopped. Countries tried to survive only by using the resources within their own borders, causing many countries worldwide to collapse. Amidst the destruction, humanity was moving towards its own extinction. However, when all hope seemed lost... Some communities started reviving agriculture by trying new methods. They restarted agricultural production using organic farming techniques and using seeds and animals suitable for local ecosystems. They also tried to ensure the sustainability of agricultural production for future generations by using sustainable farming methods, protecting and reusing the soil and water resources. These communities, by combining traditional knowledge and experience with modern technology, created a hopeful roadmap for the future of sustainable agriculture. However, more people need to be open to these methods for agricultural production to revive worldwide. People should prioritize the production of the food they consume by accepting the fact that food resources are limited and using natural resources more carefully. The current food crisis has put an end to the misconception that people can use natural resources indefinitely and has made the sustainability of agriculture essential. In conclusion, agriculture plays a vital role in feeding the world's population. The sustainability of the agricultural sector is an important factor for meeting people's nutritional needs in the future. Therefore, supporting our farmers is a vital step in ensuring the sustainability of agriculture. Our farmers have provided us with our food by working on our lands for years. Without their work, it would be impossible to eat at our tables. Therefore, we can take a step to support our farmers by buying local products, supporting sustainable farming methods, respecting and appreciating their work. We should also understand the challenges faced by those working in the agricultural sector and protect their rights. In this way, we can create a fairer and more sustainable future for our farmers. Let's not forget that without the work of our farmers, the days of food crises could return. By supporting the sustainability of the agricultural sector, we can create a safer, healthier, and more sustainable world for the future. #distopia # sustainability #farm #farming #farmer submitted by CeonGlobal to Fertilizers [link] [comments] |
