HPA Ak - $

2023.03.21 20:12 Positive-Low3806 Layoffs in tech — not scared thanks to OE
I’ve had a couple asshole friends mention to me that they wouldn’t want to “be in tech right now because of all the layoffs happening.”
“Aren’t you scared?” First, stfu? I don’t tell you that I would hate to be working as an in-office administrative assistant at a rental car company from 8-5?
More importantly, thank God for OE. Not scared of layoffs at all. Just added J3 a couple weeks ago. All sailing along smoothly. Peace of mind is priceless.

2023.03.21 20:09 ashleeesmashleee 16k miles and need a new transmission
2021 Kia Soul with only 16k miles and I get told today I need a new transmission. Looking at 4-6 weeks, but I've heard horror stories and I'm preparing for longer.
I'm just so defeated. I bought this car brand new after driving a junker for a decade. I hate I'm already facing this. Been on hold with KIA Customer Care for hour and fifteen to see what they can do as far as rental goes...

2023.03.21 20:00 ILikeLychee Planning to visit Calgary + Banff in June, wondering is car rental inventory are back to normal?
Hello all,
I am planning to visit Calgary and Banff in the end of May to early June. I am flying into Calgary International Airport and thinking of renting vehicle there. We have a family of 6 and requires a 7-seater minivan. Currently planning to do rental in the airport because it will be more comfortable for the seniors.
I checked most of the car rental companies and only Avis, and Enterprise seem to offer minivan. I am wondering is the inventory is back to normal now?
Its my first time renting car so should I use their "Pay now" or the "Pay later" option? I am wondering would I get any surprise with them, ie, they don't have any minivan available, if I choose the "Pay later" option?

2023.03.21 19:59 annaqlz Car Rental Compensation?
I’m in Portugal and have been renting a car for the past 5 days. On the second day, the key got stuck in the ignition and after trying to get help from locals and a mechanic for an hour or so, I had to drive all the way to the airport (2hrs there and back) to get another car instead (from the same company, this was the only solution they offered/there was.) Am I entitled to any compensation, can I get a refund of all charges for one day’s worth?

2023.03.21 19:52 Extension_Fix5969 Looking for suggestion for a "skill-level friendly" karting format.
Hey friends,
I've got a small karting league between buddies in which we race once a month with 30 minutes of rental time. Laps at this location are approximately 28 seconds, and they allow a maximum of 12 karts on the track at once.
I'm looking for suggestions on how to keep a competitive vibe while allowing it to be fun for all skill levels, as there is a gap in our drivers. At the end of the league we will be recognizing the "championship points", however the prizes themselves will be available to anyone based on a draw! The following is my current idea, but any recommendations are welcome and feel free to suggest a whole new format.
SPRINT : a 12 lap race, from randomized positions. Finishing order determines starting grid for the main race. Points are given based on amount of drivers. For example, if there are 11 drivers, winner of the sprint gets 11 points, last place gets 1 point.
RACE: a 40 lap race, from reverse order of sprint results. With the higher skill drivers starting at the back, the hope is to still allow them a chance to fight through everyone, but for everyone to still experience fighting for position. Points are given as above, but with a 3x multiplier. For example, if there are 11 drivers, winner of the sprint gets 33 points, last place gets 3 points.
PRIZES: at the end of the league, we will give a silly little bragging rights award to the top points scorers, but there will also be actual prizes (including a race car experience package). My thought is that for each race a driver attends, they will get one entry in the final draw. This way everyone has equal chance to win as long as they are attending.
Thanks for reading, looking forward to your comments!

2023.03.21 19:46 pleadin_the_biz border crossings and car rentals in Balkan countries
Hello, I (28M) am looking for a trip to my fiancé for about a week. Given that we are a bit tight on cash and love nature/hiking I was thinking about the Balkans (although I am also considering Italy and Asian Turkey)
Anyway I was doing a bit of research and noticed that the Balkans are not part of the Schengen area. I was hoping to rent a car and potentially use it to enter several countries. Has anyone had any experience with renting a car in say Serbia or Croatia and using it to enter North Macedonia (or some other combination). My experience with renting cars in other countries is generally this is not allowed but maybe it depends by company? would love to hear anyone with relatively recent experience.
Also how is the food in this region?
thanks!

2023.03.21 19:03 Silent-Amphibian-707 I’m a authorized user on my boyfriends account. He set a spending limit of .50cent.
I rented a car with my credit card that was under my boyfriends account. We broke up so he’s put a spending limit of .50cents and blocked the card which is totally fine
My question is - when I return the car I obviously need to use another card for the bill but those funds won’t be there until the following week.
Will they continue to try and charge my original card that was under his account and will it be declined or approved by chase?
FYI I would rather it be declined so we can both be done but not sure how that works if the date I first used the card it wasn’t blocked and didn’t have a spending limit.
I’ll tell the rental company what happened because he’ll probably report the transaction as fraud if they are successful with charging the account.
I don’t want any problems like that happening

2023.03.21 18:58 flynniep I (26F) am dating a man (34M) who still lives with his EX gf...
This is suuuper early on in our exploration of any type of potential relationship. We have been on 5 dates total, each of them have lasted a while, spent most day and night together. I don't live in his area, but I have been considering moving here for a while, my mom and I are looking at properties here together. So there could be a potential for this person and I to date more seriously, but I am not cool with the ex thing.
On our first date, he told me he had a roommate so we ended up hanging out at a vacation rental that he told me his boss was letting him use. I thought that was odd at first, but I went along with it not thinking I would even like him very much enough for a second date. I ended up liking him a lot, so we hung out the next night, and he brought me to a different vacation rental, so I started to get some weird feelings. When he brought me into the house, he sat me down and told me the reason we keep hanging out at these vacation rentals is that he works for the property management company, and he lives with his ex... I'm really not someone to get like angry over someone's life decisions that I don't even know that well, so I just kind of shrugged it off. Then later that night I tried to catch him in a lie, so I kind of slyly asked "So are you cheating on your girlfriend?" and he was really quick to respond "She's not my girlfriend." He's told me they have not been sexually intimate for a year, but she has been living with him (in his house, that is in his name) because her only other option is living with her parents who are apparently uneducated, volatile, backwoods type people (his words, not mine).
So, on the last few dates we've had, he's told me a bit more about the situation with his ex, and for context, his ex is 23. She was 20 when they started dating, and he was 31, which I even told him was too young for him to begin with. On the other hand, I was dating a 29 year old when I was 19, so I think the age gap thing is all relative anyway. I guess his ex is extremely physically violent, he told me she had banged down his bedroom door, and corners him when she gets in certain moods, that she will hit him, etc. I don't know him well enough to tell if he is an especially good liar, but I have a major BS detector and I believe what he is telling me about her based on his body language, breath, vocal pauses and pitch change, gaze, etc. He's been telling me that she is moving out soon, she's just waiting to pay for her car which is in the shop for repairs. So, who knows when that will be, but I am definitely not going to just wait around for the sun to shine in that situation. So...
Here's my question, and I've already kind of answered it for myself, but I'm wondering if this is a reasonable plan. I am thinking I give this guy 2 more weeks of casual dating, and if he approaches me about taking it more seriously, I say no until she moves out. I'm also thinking about dating other people, even though I really do have some feelings for this person, I can't put my eggs into the basket where another chicken has already laid.
TL;DR . 34M I've been dating is still living with his 10 years younger ex who has no place to go (the house is his, it's in his name). He was honest with me about this on our 2nd date, and is insistent they aren't together and that she's moving out. If you were in my position, how would you approach this situation?

2023.03.21 18:50 netijan Please suggest the best Credit Card with an Annual Fee for my profile.
Hello Churners,
I'm currently working as an intern and will soon become a full-time employee. I stay in San Francisco, California. I'm looking to get my first credit card with an annual fee, and I prefer a VISA card because I frequently shop at Costco. However, I'm open to an AMEX card if it meets all my requirements.
I travel around 5-6 times a year, so having a card that provides priority pass lounge access would be a plus but not mandatory. I'm also looking for protection plans for purchases, rental cars, and flights.
In terms of rewards, I'd like a card that offers high points for travel, grocery, gas, and shopping categories.
My current credit scores: Transunion 752, Equifax 756, and Experian 735 (FICO).
Previous Credit Cards: Apple Card [$5k limit], Chase Freedom Unlimited [$5k limit], Amex Blue Cash Everyday with a $15k limit, Deserve Student credit card 3k limit.
I haven't applied for any credit cards in the last 6 months and am under the Chase 5/24 limit.
I have found that Chase Sapphire Reserve, Chase Sapphire Preferred would be better but later found that I already have Freedom unlimited and those CSP/CSR only gives access to chase portal for redemption of my points. I also found Amex platinum is only worth when you use those benefits it offers, I never used walmart, saks, equinox. I'm also looking at Capital One venture X then found that from January 2023, no outside lounge experiences are allowed with the card.
If I dont choose a Chase Sapphire Reserve/ Preffered now, I cannot apply for it in next 1.2 years again. because this is going to be my 5th credit card in past 24 months. I do not know if deserve credit card is gonna count under Chase's 5/24 rule but I'm counting on it for now.
Can you suggest the best credit card that meets my requirements?
Thank you in advance!

Basic Festival & Ticketing information
When can I check in to the campgrounds?
Insomniac put together a handy entry guide for camping that is available here
What are the guidelines for camping? I have more questions related to camping!
Insomniac put together their camping guidelines and camping FAQ pages related to camping and they are very informative. I'm not going to re-type all this information here, so use the links provided.
My wristband/parking pass/shuttle pass hasn't come yet!
Be patient, they will be shipping out over 100k+ packages when they go out. You can also call Front Gate Tickets to see where your shipment is and/or set up will call pickup @ 888.512.7469. Also here's the Front Gate Tickets Support Site.
If you are coming from outside of the USA, you have no choice but to go to will call for your tickets. Please see the above event information for the box office location and hours.
I have tickets/shuttle passes/parking passes to sell!
Check out EDCTickets! Remember, even though our community is friendly, caring, and kind, there are ticket scammers out there that are willing to take advantage. Be vigilant, if something seems to good to be true, it probably is. Trust your instincts.
Where can I register my Wristband? Do I have to register my wristband?
You can register it here. The only way to recover your wristband if it is lost or stolen is to have it registered. Additionally, there is emergency contact information stored in your wristband as part of the registration process, if anything should happen to you. There is a $40 fee for a replacement wristband.
Well this is embarassing, I didn't listen to everyone and put my wristband on early/on the wrong hand, how can I get it off? I sold my wristband after I attended one of the nights, how can I get it off without damaging it?
Here's a short how-to video to remove the wristband without damaging anything. DON'T PUT YOUR WRISTBAND ON UNTIL FRIDAY BEFORE YOU LEAVE YOUR HOTEL! It goes on your right wrist, and should be able to fit a finger underneath for breathing room.
I'm going solo to the fest, how can I make friends, I need a place to stay, etc.
There are several ways of doing this. You can use the search function on the subreddit. There's also some Facebook groups dedicated to solo journeys to EDC. Once again, trust your instincts here and only stay with people that you can properly personally have vetted ahead of time.
Also, check the useful links above for ride shares, hotel shares, and tent shares!
Live sets just aren't doing it for me, I need a feel for what this place is like before I attend!
Check out Electric Daisy Carnival 2000, Under the Electric Sky, or The Electric Daisy Carnival Experience trailer from when the festival was still in L.A. If you can find The Electric Daisy Carnival Experience online for free somewhere or even for a couple bucks to stream it, I think it's a much better movie than the Under the Electric Sky movie.
FAQ
When do the set times drop? When does the app update? I can't find the app on the app store, what gives?!
Set times and app updates usually happen the week of the festival. The Insomniac app will update the week of the festival, so go ahead and install it now if you want to.
What about pool parties or other EDC Week events?
Official site here for a list of events and tickets. There's also going to be parties and pools at the campground.
What time should I leave the strip? How long does it take to get to/from to the speedway? What time should I leave the event to beat traffic?
EDC is not like a local DJ show and Las Vegas traffic SUCKS. Parking lots open at 2PM, so I would strive to leave the strip right around that time. Without traffic it will take you anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. The longer into the night you wait to leave the worse off traffic will be and the longer it will take to get to the show. I have heard nightmare scenarios of 2 or 3 hour shuttle rides, so don't let it happen to you!
Typically, you can leave before the sunrise sets or about halfway through it and not have too bad of a wait in traffic back to the strip in the morning! At the end of night 3, keep in mind normal people are also heading to work since it will technically be Monday morning. That's just going to add to the cluster fuck of traffic on I-15 and Las Vegas Blvd. Plan accordingly! If you are driving have a cooler in the trunk with water bottles!
Are we doing the Reddit meetup again this year?
We sure are. Check out the links up top regarding information on where and when we are meeting up. We are going to have two simultaneous meetups, one for campers and one for people on the Strip. All information is contained in the post linked at the very top!
What can I bring into the festival? What can't I bring into the festival? What are the searches like?
The searches could be TSA style, or you could barely get touched at all. It's pretty random. Consider stash boxers or compression underwear to get your favors inside or items that are disallowed like LED gloves, etc.
If you take your time to observe the security, you can usually get a feel of who is being a hard-ass for a dime raise for busting someone and who is just doing their job quickly and efficiently.
As for allowed and disallowed items, here's a link to those lists as well as totem guidelines.
Bring a gallon zip lock bag and put all of your belongings that you want to bring into the festival in it while you are waiting in line. All three days last year security complimented me on being organized and how easy I made their jobs because they could just scan the items in the bag, check my camelbak, give me the pat down and I was on my way.
Seriously, if you make security's lives easier in this way, they will not hassle you at all as long as you aren't trying to bring in stuff that isn't allowed. I didn't even get pat down on Night 2 because I was so up-front about all my belongings.
Any further questions, feel free to comment below, or visit the EDC Las Vegas Guide page!
Tips and Tricks!
- Put an Emergency Contact Information (ICE) on your phone's lock screen. Android or Apple. This serves as two things.. One, if you lose your phone, someone can try to get it back to you. TWO, if you get hurt or fall out, the medics on site can get in contact with someone you know.
- Call your bank/credit card companies and let them know you will be traveling to Vegas to avoid holds on your account.
- Be vigilant on the Strip. Everyone is trying to hustle. Street performers will expect tips if you take pictures!
- Hit up a Vegas buffet at least one day.
- Stretch beforehand in your hotel room. Your muscles will thank you in the morning!
- Wear comfy shoes and/or get insoles to replace the "stock" insoles that come with your shoes. Also, consider moleskin if your feet are prone to blistering from rubbing against your socks. Your feet will thank you!
- Get to the festival early. Stop by the merchandise tent first thing. Items sell out fast. Consider a mobile charging locker to store your merchandise in! Additionally, if you bring all of your sealed items in on the first day (wipes, chapstick, cigarettes, gum, tampons, etc), you can keep them all in your locker overnight and not have to worry about getting 3 of each sealed item to bring in every single day. REMEMBER! Hide your lock combo from people that may peer over your shoulder or look at your combination wristband and try to get into your locker. Remain vigilant inside the festival!
- After you get your merch and put it in your locker, you next stop should be one of the free water stands to fill up your hydration pack or water bottle. It's very important to remain hydrated, especially while the sun is still out and bearing down on you! If you tip some of the vendors, they will give you ice if the warm water turns you off.
- If you need to eat something, consider the food trucks instead of the concession stand food. The food trucks have their company name out there and on the line when compared to the generic concession stand stuff, the quality of the food is unparalleled. Don't make the same mistake as I did a few years ago and get a raw onion sandwich masked as a "cheese steak".
- Bring earplugs! Tinnitus sucks!
- Wear sunscreen! Remember, if you are staying all night the sun is up at like 5AM and starts beaming down on you almost immediately.
- If you want to ride the rides, get there early or risk missing sets while standing in line! Some rides you will be waiting for an hour or more at peak times.
- Time-stamp your texts! There will be cell service congestion. Stamping your texts will help your friends know whenever you truly sent a message!
- Bring an external battery pack in with you to charge your phone if you are someone who likes to take a lot of photo and video!
- Bring cash. Credit and debit cards could possibly be hit or miss if the speedway's internet network would happen to shit the bed! Don't be stuck without a way to pay for something you need!
- Remember to take it easy night 1! EDC is a marathon not a sprint!
- Emergen-C packets are a lifesaver. Take one before the festival every night in order to help you recover from the night before and prepare for the festival ahead!
- Take some time to look up and enjoy the fireworks!
- Don't forget about the EDC parade down Rainbow Road every night! You should at least try to check it out one time out of the three nights you are there! Check the app for times, but it should be around midnight every night!
- Follow your favorite artists' social media so that you know if they may show up unannounced, or if they are doing any surprise sets on one of the art cars, etc.
- Send a post card to back home at the EDC Town Post Office. Mine took until October in 2017 to land, but it was a nice surprise when it finally did! Check out EDC Town in general. It's pretty sweet.
- If you are feeling at all dehydrated or anything else medical related, visit one of the medical tents. Staff is super friendly and you WILL NOT get in trouble for seeking medical treatment, no matter your condition. If you can't make it to the medical tent, look for a Ground Control staff member to assist you or any of your friends! Look out for your fellow ravers. If you see something, say something! This will keep everyone safe and having a good time.
- If you are going to do drugs, and especially MDMA, I suggest only doing it 1 out of the 3 nights and finding something else for the other two days. Just to let you know as an example of responsible use, in 2017 we did edibles and shatter the first night, rolled night 2, and just chilled with some shatter night 3. Everyone is different, but be safe, and TEST YOUR SHIT. Do not buy drugs at the festival. Not only do you risk getting bunk shit, but undercover cops are everywhere!
- If you are going to drink alcohol, do so in moderation and stay hydrated! For every alcoholic drink you have, you should drink 8-16oz of water!
- If you are a lady, bring wipes! Usually the porta-potties run out of toilet paper. It's just a fact of the festival and usually they don't get resupplied until the following day. You will thank me if you get caught in this situation.
- Bring a hand fan for the water lines! They can get pretty hot and people will love you!
- Try to catch at least one sunrise set one of the nights. I recommend night 2, since everyone and their mothers will be staying on night 3. Plus, Monday morning rush hour traffic on night 3 is no bueno.
- If you have a large crew and need to split up to see different sets, plan a meeting spot! Try to pick something that is stationary, like the locker area, the cooling area, one of the buildings in EDC Town, etc.
- Buy a smoothie or a lemonade. They are a nice change of pace from warm hydrant water.
- Get a bandana and tie it around your neck for each night you are out there. Put it over your mouth and nose when the dust gets to be too much. Your lungs will thank you, plus you get to look like a bandit. Win/win.
- Trains of people going in and out of the crowd are going to happen, so use them to your advantage. Become the caboose to go into or out of the crowds and use your manners! Excuse me, thank you, etc go a long way when navigating the crowd!
- Bring good vibes, leave the judgement at the gates, and most of all, enjoy yourself and smile! EDC is a glorious wonderland of fun. Extrude the vibes you wish to receive back to you and you will have a great time, I promise!

2023.03.21 18:46 poopstain1234 Confirming my "back-of-the-napkin" lease tax write-off calculations are ball park correct before proceeding. (ON)
I work from home and own multiple rental properties in and outside the city. As we are work-from-home, and I go into work once or twice a month, most of my driving will be for my business (and personal, which includes going to work).
From my initial research, it seems that you take all your expenses (maintenance, gas, monthly lease, etc.), add it up, and multiple by your usage percentage. So, if I'm using my car for my business 65% percent of my time, I add up all my costs, and multiply by .65.
Once I get the number, I subtract that amount from my gross income, and calculate my tax from that?
Made up numbers incoming:
If I make $100k, and my tax write off is $10k, then my income is basically $90k
OR
If the tax bracket was 25% for 90,000 and above, I'd be paying 2,500 less tax. (made up tax bracket).
This is with the caveat that lease write offs cannot be more than 800 a month.
Is this ballpark correct? Anything glaring missing that will throw my numbers off substantially? My accountant is busy and not responding, and my car just died.

2023.03.21 18:46 ecrank72 Rental cars companies that will pick up car in Sierpe?
Do you happen to know of any rental car companies that will pick up a rental car dropoff in Sierpe? It looks like Adobe might for a fee - any others?
We are ending our 2-week trip (early June) at Drake Bay and figure we won't want/need a rental car there (and don't want to drive 6+ hour to SJO our last day - planning to fly Sansa).

2023.03.21 18:42 heckintrollerino 2014 Accent randomly dies while stopped
So my car has been acting pretty peculiar within the last couple of weeks it has started dying at stop lights. I'll be sitting and without warning it'll kill itself. I have to turn it all the way off then all the way back on and crank for 5-10 seconds. It'll eventually turn back on but then the tachometer doesn't work for the rest of the drive. And after the restart my AC won't turn on either, like it almost feels like the compressor engages but the air doesn't cool. Shifting feels funny during this time, as if it doesn't know when to shift so it shifts at a preset speed.
I'm assuming a crankshaft sensor. What do you think?
Yes the MIL has come on, but it turns off pretty much once the tachometer starts working again so I haven't gotten to a shop with it on to pull the code.
Also, just under 120k, automatic, was a previous rental car. Smallest engine, whatever it may be.

2023.03.21 18:32 AerryBerry What to expect at car rental?
After a nightmare experience at Philly airport (gate shut in my face after first flight was too late for 2nd flight; 13 hours waiting in airport for standby before learning all flights for next 5 days oversold), I went to Budget car rental to get myself home to Toronto.
I exhaustedly drove 8 hours home and returned the car at Pearson….I immediately got asked by Budget how the damage to the car had occurred. There on the driver’s side was a fairly significant dent I hadn’t noticed. I was boggled; I had made exactly 2 10-minute stops en route, parked away from others, and had not caused any damage.
I was told I should have inspected the car before getting in at the origin. The agent who helped me in Philly did not indicate I should inspect the car; I was too exhausted to even think of it. Is it an expectation that the rental agent should do this? Given that car rentals are their job and not mine, I feel like I should have been walked to the car and told to sign off that there was no damage. This was absolutely not done. I was told to go to parking spot A11, and that the keys were in the car.
Anyone have any advice here?? I don’t know the cost of the damage yet; awaiting investigation. Just want to know my rights.

2023.03.21 18:20 Hot-Cake-1513 Earning Gold Status Questions
Hey folks, I'll most likely be able to hit Gold status this year through various work travel and I have a few questions.
I have the Barclays AAdvantage Business card and I was curious if earned double miles count towards the overall loyalty points. i.e. the card gives me 2X for rental cars and AA flights purchased.
If I need to fly JetBlue on a non AA codeshare flight, but still enter in my AA Loyalty number on the booking, can I still earn miles for that flight?
For Gold status, what are the odds I get upgraded to first class on any given flight? Or is it mostly Main Cabin Extra. (or is it too random to answer this questions), just trying to set my expectations on what upgrades I would normally get on a general flight.
Thanks in advance!

2023.03.21 18:11 rollwiththechanges Positive experience with Vamos rental car company
Hi guys, just got back from a great vacation in Costa Rica with my wife & son. Based on advice from this subreddit, I decided to go with Vamos for renting a car.
First off, just generally, we had a good experience from the beginning. They were waiting for us at the airport, and shuttled us over to the office, which is only a couple of minutes away. They were friendly and professional, everything was as expected and went smoothly. A key thing, that turned out later to be a wise decision for us, was to pay for the full insurance up front.
So, we left SJO and drove up to La Fortuna the day of arrival. The next morning, we were heading out to breakfast, and unfortunately, I got into a collision. It was my fault, I got distracted or something, not sure exactly, but I turned left in front of an oncoming taxi without enough space between us, so the taxi hit us in the right front of my vehicle.
FYI, the way things work in Costa Rica (as explained beforehand by Vamos) is:
- you don't move your vehicle from the roadway initially
- you call 911 - this will send out a traffic police crew, who will make a police report. When they say it's OK, you can then move the car off the road.
- you call the insurance company - they will send out an insurance representative who will do their own report
- you call Vamos
I also took some pictures with my phone and sent them to vamos via email.
So, at first I thought the car might be driveable... it had some dents in the front quarter panel and front passenger door, but the headlights weren't damaged. But when I tried driving it back to where were staying, I found out that the steering was quite affected. I could drive it slowly and fight it a bit to go in a straight line, but it wasn't safe beyond limping slowly about 1 km back to our place.
So then I called Vamos again and explained that I would need a replacement vehicle. Since the one I had wasn't driveable, they needed to put the replacement vehicle on a flatbed tow truck in San Jose, drive that up to me, swap it for the damaged vehicle, and drive that one back on the truck. As you know it's a 3+ hour trip from San Jose to La Fortuna, but they got right on the ball and brought it to me that same evening. I gave the tow truck driver the paper police report and my copy of the insurance report.
The rest of the trip went smooth, and of course I was extra extra careful with the 2nd vehicle. Honestly I was paranoid, I couldn't imagine having to call them up and tell them something happened to the 2nd one!
So, at the end of the trip, upon returning the vehicle to Vamos, everything when smooth and easy again. No hassles, no extra paperwork, no attitude, still super friendly.
So... big points to Vamos for being a great company to rent from. And, I recommend getting the full insurance if you can manage it -- really it took a lot of stress off me by not having to deal with any of that.

2023.03.21 18:07 soulmeetsmeatsack Car rental?!
Hi everyone! I’m traveling to Pittsburgh for the first time next week (solo) and I’m having a hell of a time finding car rental agencies, particularly at the airport. My biggest issue is that I’m flying in at midnight and I can’t find any that are 24 hours. Any recommendations?

2023.03.21 17:53 yrnmigos Need help planning 8 day trip to Spain.
After debating for weeks about where to go for our first trip to Europe, my girlfriend (33f) and I (37m) decided to go to Spain in Spring of 2024
She knows a Texas version of Spanish and we love the culture, food and architecture. Not only that it is also one of the more affordable options.
We both picked a favorite location and we will be planning our trip around that. I picked Granada to see Alhambra and Moorish history and she picked Barcelona for the architecture.
I've explained to her that an itinerary like this would most likely involve skipping Madrid which is a hard pill to swallow.
I need help with what else to skip.
Day 1-3
The itinerary I had in mind involves flying into Barcelona in the morning and visiting the city center when we get there. Then explore for the next two full days.
Day 4-8 Andalusia
Here's where the question marks pop up.
Day 4. We could fly into Seville in the morning which would give us the afternoon to explore.
Day 5 Explore more of Seville
Day 6 Rent a car and drive to Ronda. Then arrive in Granada.
Day 7 Explore Alhambra.
Day 8 Arrive in Malaga and relax before flying out.
Andalusia feels rushed to me and I feel like we would need to adjust our itinerary. I've thought about skipping Ronda on Day 6 and instead of renting a car, train hopping from Seville to Cordoba for a day trip then hopping on a train to Granada that evening. But we would have our luggage with us while exploring Cordoba. At least with a rental we can leave or luggage in the car.
I know everyone says to avoid a rental car but they said the same thing when we went to Yucatan MX and we love having the freedom. If we rent a car I would see if there was an option to park at a bus or train terminal in the bigger towns.
I know I'll need to make sacrifices but what are the right ones!? Should I skip Seville and go straight to Cordoba and Granada? Should we just do less days in Barcelona?
