About Me My name is Eddie, I'm a pretty experienced GM. I've been playing 5e for 8 years now. Recently I've been branching out into playing other systems, but I keep coming back to 5e. I'm currently running 6 campaigns and weekly one shots. This is the first time I've run this one shot so hold on to your seats. I'm a content creator on Roll20 and a Translator. My second language is Japanese. I've only only started DMing full time recently, but I hope I can give you the experience you are looking for.
DM Style It varies from game to game, but something that is consistant throughout all of my games is player choice and interactions matter. This game is going to focus heavily on the college and the arcane nature of it. There will be a pretty good balance of combat, puzzling, challenge, exploration and approach scenarios for players to dive into as a group and a few extra suprises along the way.
I like to reward variablity in play and creative approach within the rules of the world. I engage players based on their wants and needs and try my best to facilitate their ideas. I want to let you guys do cool things with you characters and help you create your stories however they may play out.

Title. I’m not a big seller online - but have always said cash only/pickup when I do. I got a new iPhone yesterday, and have had my iPhone 11 Pro Max up for sale on gumtree and marketplace, and on gumtree I’ve already had 5 messages from fake accounts asking for my email to complete transaction, and on marketplace I’ve had 4 messages in the last 3 hours from scammers sending nearly identical messages saying shit like “can I pay you through PayID because it’s my son picking it up and I can’t get the money to him, it’s all on me!”
I played along with one of them and they had a fake email sent to me saying I’m required to upgrade my PayID to a business account to request more money from the scammer? I’m very switched on with scams (never been scammed or lost money) but I’ve never seen this one before.
The last time I sold something electronic on gumtree was 6 months ago, and i remember it not even being close to this bad. Haven’t had 1 legitimate buyer. Anyone else experiencing this shit on selling apps?

Everybody at work this past week has been working really hard to prepare for our annual QA visit. When I came on shift there was a small party and celebration for doing well on our QA scoring 90.8/100. I don’t know why, but the first thing I thought and said was, “what did we do wrong?” My coworkers just looked at me like, “what are you talking about? We’re celebrating.” I kinda just apologized, walked away, and starting working. I mean I know in hindsight that was mood killer statement. But I don’t know why my mind immediately goes looking for the negative in a positive situation.
I do this with everything; at school, at work, with my family, and therapy. I don’t know why I do this. I’ve tried to think about “how does this help me?” but I can’t see any way that it does. It’s just keeps me sad. My T says I should “give myself grace” but even with that I think “I will when I earn/deserve it.” I’m not under any illusion. I know I’m doing this to myself. I just don’t know how to stop myself from looking for the negative.
Why do I do this and how do I stop?

If I took a guess as to what went wrong, I would say my essays. HOWEVER, they were not at all bad. No red flags at all, in my opinion. Or perhaps it was my AP scores, but I was told they don't matter much... so I don't know. Perhaps it was just me being unlucky. Or perhaps I just wasn't as strong of an applicant as I believed myself to be. I shot my shot, and it didn't work out. It happens I guess.
I love my safeties and they're all affordable. I understand the main goal of a pre-med is... to not go to medical school with debt, so there we go. But while I do love them, it does feel a little disappointing.
To be honest, the worst part is the disappointment of others lol.

Time has made it better. But they were my idol and role model and everything I aspired to be. No one has ever even come close to meaning as much to me as they did. Then they just bailed. Never was sure if it was intentional, but over the course of the last real conversation I had with them I specifically begged them not to make me bury them. And then they did.
The past decade has been filled with some pretty grim health and relationship issues and I've pretty much self sabotaged myself into non existence. Not really a writer on Reddit and will probably disappear this account in the near future but just... Needed to get this off my chest.
Honestly guys and gals, bottom line is tell the people you love that you love them.
I spoke with them at about 3 pm that fateful day. Told them I would call them back after work because I was busy.
Called them back at maybe six.
They were gone.
The last time I saw them was at the end of a trip we had taken maybe three weeks prior and I had financed, as usual. I was the responsible, career driven one. They were a lovable bum, but they never worked unless they had to. Still, the kind of person people just paid for to go on holiday with because they were that much fun.
On that trip we stayed in a hostel and what stands out second most in my mind is how they pulled in a non social individual to make them a part of the group, because my sibling would let no one be left out. Ever. Much like my non social, annoying kid sibling ass. Sibling never interacted with anyone for more than a few minutes without becoming best friends for life.
The first most memorable moment on that trip is the minutes after I put them in a taxi to the airport after, then sat down on the steps and wept like a baby. I don't know how I knew that would be the last time I saw them in this life. I don't know how I knew. I knew.
Love your loved ones, my friends. Let them know. I'm not sure I ever told them in this life how much I loved them.
Now I tell them every night.

Slowly rebuilding my N64 collection. Authentic carts are SO EXPENSIVE... anyone have experience with playing repos? Would I be making a mistake to get repos? It's so tempting at $20 a pop.. I could 4 or 5 games for the price of 1 or 2 authentics. Obviously the collector in me wants authentics, but I don't have $2500 for video games. Input P&TY
Add on: of my current 11 carts - (original collection was 69 carts) - only one is a repo; Gauntlet Legends. Only issue I can attest to is that once in MP mode, we couldn't control our champions going left. I accused the controllers/joysticks of being problematic, tho now I'm wondering if it's a glitch due to being a fake. Otherwise, the game is still playable, saveable, enjoyable; and the issue seems to be non continual this far.

2023.03.31 07:58 SepticEpidemic 23rd Day of Quitting Smoking/Vaping. Are These Symptoms Still Normal?
Hey there, I am a 22-year-old Hispanic female, around 5'2 and 205 lbs, I drink a single cocktail maybe once a month. Been smoking around a pack every 8 weeks since I was 17, and in the last year, switched to vaping. I heavily used it since it was easy to access, and tasted way better than a cig. Randomly had a huge heart palpitation that lead to severe dizziness after taking a hit one day, spiked my BPM heavily and I was convinced I was gonna pass out, happened around early February. Decided to quit for a few days since I figured it was the nic, but went back after 5ish days, after another few days, I decided to cold turkey quit entirely. I don't really have severe cravings, early on I had headaches and bad bowel movements (first 5 or 7 days). However, my biggest symptom, and the worst one is severe anxiety. It had reached a point where I went to the ER because I believed I was having heart attack symptoms and left with a clean bill of health. I later learned I was experiencing panic attacks. Now, I have always suffered anxiety throughout my life, but never experienced an actual panic attack where I had been feeling chest pressure, trembling, and a racing heart. I always take my BPM during these times, and a resting (sitting or laying down) rate avg would be between 100 to 115, never usually higher since I tend to stay very stationary during these times.
Thankfully I have recently been prescribed anxiety meds (Xanax 0.25mg), which help a ton. However, this leads me to my main concerns.
I know everyone is different with withdrawals, but is this severe anxiety normal? Even for this long? Moreover, I know the body changes a lot when quitting, but even without panic attacks, I can't help but feel very small smidgens of pressure in my chest once or twice a day for anywhere between a few seconds to maybe a minute with varying "intensity." It is not pain at all, on a scale of 1 to 100 in terms of pressure, it's maybe a 10% lowest to 30% highest. I do not have this in any other location on my body, but it ranges to around my heart, to the upper areas of my collarbone.
Is this type of chest pressure normal? This last month of nic quitting has left me severely paranoid regarding my health, or if I may have an underlying heart condition. I even had Pleurisy as of late on my right side, my body is going through a lot and the unknown of it is making me overthink. I have been also recently prescribed Adderall (10mg) for my ADHD and I worry that it may increase my anxiety, which I cannot immediately take my anxiety meds with I can't take those two medications within close times of one another.

I'm in my twenties and looking to "retire" off of my rental properties and I'm just looking to get some questions answered by people with more knowledge than I do! thank you!
- Can I live off these same properties (all within 15 years old) for lets say the next 60-70 years? Depreciation tax deduction ends at around 30 years and repairs has to be crazy after a couple decades no? Do I eventually sell when depreciation runs out and 1031 into newer properties? Or do I just suck it up and throw 30K in repairs?
- Should I invest in more than one place/state? I'm currently all in Las Vegas but Vegas saw a brutal 08 by dropping 50% although I assume that's because 08 was a housing market recession! I'm looking to pick up 3 more SFHs by end of 2024-25 if rates or pricing is any better so although my current properties are at 40% LTV, my newer properties at 20% LTV can definitely scare me! Some out of state properties provide a way better cash flow than Las Vegas for example, 250K can get 3 SFH in Vegas bringing in 7K a year in cashflow with a mortgage and around 60K paid off! But it seems certain states carry properties that I could put 20% down on and pick up 6 properties cash flowing 10K+ with a mortgage and 80K-90K after being paid off! (Assuming a 200K property in let's say the midwest can fetch 14-1500$ a month) Is it worth all the hassle of more tenants and out of state for safety and diversification after firing? I assume the higher cashflow would be spent towards property management since its out of state so I guess thats not too much of a factor? Even if it did mean higher income would you guys consider it?
- Do you guys pay off your properties? After I stack enough cash to get those newer rentals, I plan to pay off my properties one by one to free up cashflow by just writing a huge check from saving my work income and newly made rental income (should take no more than 8 years for this whole process) Do you guys do this? Or just continue to snow ball and buy properties with any freed up cash and let the properties pay for themselves? I assume in the realm of fire the goal is to be debt free and make income so we're safe but I'm not 100% sure if my train of thought is correct? I feel as if a paid off property is something that the banks can't take from me and there's always that level of risk with buying more aside from the obvious benefit of larger asset value (don't think it improves current cash flow since a paid off property = freed up mortgage but cash flow on 3 mortgaged properties might exceed the mortgage? unlikely but I'm not really too familiar with it)
- How does rent get affected in a recession? It's not doubt that I'll definitely experience a couple recessions in my life time, how do I deal with those? My only income is rent at that point, does a 20% drop in housing value affect rent too? What actually does affect rent? I understand keep an emergency fund for properties incase of repairs but vacancies should be a small concern since my goal is to have them paid off! (for context im a domestic student who’s currently studying in an international boarding school!)
i was only allowed 8 applications from my school and i got the last one back today and so it brings my total tally to 6 rejections and 2 waitlists (even my safeties..) :’) it’s not like im a bad student either i have a predicted 41 in the ib and my ecs were quite decent but it’s just sinking into the acceptance phases now for me.. i guess i’ll be taking a gap year and figuring out what comes next
i know the title is completely contrary to whatever is in this post but at this point im just telling that to myself.. it could always get worse so just be happy everyone;;
